Ostrofski Race 1: DES LAMBART MEMORIAL CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M BROKEN ARROWS – Eased on jumping to take up a rearward position. ALL SHIRAZ – Had to be steadied at the 250m when SUILVEN shifted out. M. Murphy, the rider of SUILVEN, was reprimanded. GARIBALDI – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the middle stages. Race 2: TATTERSALL’S ARCADE BENCHMARK 78 H'CAP – 2212M MAGSTOCK – Apprentice J. Murphy was fined $200 for using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m. ADVANCE WARNING – Commenced to overrace and pull hard between the 1800m and the 1600m. STARDOME – L. Dittman was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. OCEAN ADDICT – Slow into stride. DISSOLUTION – Lost the near fore plate in running. EQUIPPED – Crowded and inconvenienced on jumping when CHAMPAGNE VEGA jumped inwards. CHAMPAGNE VEGA – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in in the early part of the straight. M. Du Plessis was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. Race 3: WINNING EDGE BENCHMARK 85 H'CAP – 1200M The start of this race was delayed considerably when MISHANI HONCHO, which became fractious and lost the off hind plate after striking the rail whilst proceeding to enter the track, had to be replated and undergo a veterinary examination which cleared the horse to race. CONNOISSEUR – Blundered on jumping. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse had over-reached, causing a laceration to the outside heel of the off foreleg. MISHANI HONCHO – Trainer G. Cornish was advised that in light of today’s uncompetitive performance the gelding would be ineligible to race at metropolitan meetings until such time as it establishes satisfactory provincial form. Apprentice J. Murphy was fined $200 for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. AKAGE – Slow into stride. Raced three wide with cover from the 900m. Laid in in the early part of the straight. PLENTY – Slow into stride. ROSIE POSIE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Race 4: TATTERSALL’S CLUB MEMBERS BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1400M As R. Wiggins had riding engagements at Gold Coast, R. Stewart was substituted as the rider of FEW TOO MANY. STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 600m. AMICITIA – Held up making the turn into the straight. NAVAL STRIKE – Slow into stride. Disappointed for a run shortly after entering the home straight. VOILA – Laid inwards in the early part of the straight. FEW TOO MANY – Proved extremely difficult to settle in the early stages and laid outwards making the turn near the 900m and thereafter raced three wide without cover. HERITAGE SASH – Held up making the turn into the straight. DRUMADOIR – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight. CERTAIN DOUBT – Raced in restricted room approaching the 1200m between DRUMADOIR, which rolled out, and HERITAGE SASH, which rolled in, and thereafter overraced in the middle stages. Raced wide in the middle stages and was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position closer to the fence passing the 800m. Race 5: TATTERSALL’S CLUB STAKES – 1400M TUMBLER RIDGE – Inconvenienced and carried wide at the 800m before being steadied back to obtain a position three wide with cover. REAL FINE WINE – Struck the rail when leaving the enclosure, dislodging J. Bayliss. On arrival at the barriers the colt underwent an veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Jockey Bayliss was examined by the ambulance attendants and cleared to fulfil his engagement. READY FOR MAGIC – J. Byrne reported at scale that his mount never relaxed during the event and this had a bearing on its capacity to finish the race off strongly. COSMIC GOSSIP – Crowded approaching the turn into the straight when racing tight to the inside of TUMBLER RIDGE and to the outside of NICCI’S SPIRIT, which rolled outwards. L. Cassidy was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. QUEEN SWEEPER – Slow to begin. Commenced to race ungenerously when being eased approaching the 900m and shifted outwards and thereafter hung out and raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than minor lacerations to the offside mouth. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that the filly must trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to race again. SEE MARIE – Slow to begin. Carried wider making the turn into the straight. Laid inwards in the straight. PLUTOCRAT – Commenced to race keenly near the 1000m when being steadied off the heels of AMOREM, which rolled in. NICCI’S SPIRIT – The veterinary surgeon reported that the filly had sustained a laceration outside the near hind cannon as a result of being galloped on and had lost the near hind plate and was referred to the Gatton University for further treatment. Race 6: 4 PINES OPEN H'CAP – 1000M GUARD OF HONOUR – Raced three wide without cover throughout. COOL SEQUENCE – Raced wide in the early stages before improving to race outside the leader. ROYAL WITNESS – Had blood in its mouth behind the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to race. Raced three wide with cover. SHARPE HUSSLER – Slow into stride. DEFENCE MISSILE – Apprentice C. Bayliss was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. BOGEY MAN – Slow to begin. Held up making the turn into the straight and had to be taken outwards passing the 300m to obtain clear running. Race 7: G.H. MUMM QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1200M STUTTERING – Raced three wide without cover throughout. MADDI ROCKS – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until the concluding stages. QUANTICO – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. EURO BELLE – Raced three wide with cover. CHICO MILAGRO – Unable to secure clear running in the straight until the concluding stages. RIVER ROCKET – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover. DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Slow to begin. Laid inwards in the straight. Race 8: STELLA ARTOIS OPEN H'CAP – 1840M COOL CHAP – Raced three wide with cover throughout. GRESHAM – Shifted in abruptly near the 300m when L. Dittman dropped his nearside rein, momentarily inconveniencing SIR BARNABUS. Laid in over the final 200m. L. Dittman was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m. LOTA CREEK GOLD – Got its head up when being steadied near the 1300m. SIR BARNABUS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Inconvenienced near the 300m. Crowded over the concluding stages. TAMARACK – B. Thornton was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. THE KINGDOM – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 300m. RED STINA – Slow to begin. BAREFOOT – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Race 9: TAB BRIGHT SHADOW – 1200M LOVE YOU LUCY – Bumped with JAMAICAN RAIN on a couple of occasions near the 300m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running until the concluding stages. FIESTA – Slow to begin. Held up from the 400m and had to be taken outwards approaching the 250m to obtain clear running. JAMAICAN RAIN – Bumped with LOVE YOU LUCY on a couple of occasions near the 300m. MULTAJA – Inconvenienced on jumping when LOVE YOU LUCY jumped outwards.
