Passing the 200 metres, when hanging out, shifted ground and bumped PARIS CRYSTAL. When asked to comment on the performance rider A Allen stated the gelding was inclined to hang out for a major portion of the event and did not appreciate todays firm racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination of BOYLES revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Henley stated the gelding may not have backed up from its most recent start at Randwick on January 2nd 2021 and it was now his intention to spell the horse. PARIS CRYSTAL – Bumped passing the 200 metres.Following this event the track was upgraded retrospectively to a Good 3. Race 2: HELLBENT FIRST CROP AT INGLIS CLASSIC Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres HIDDEN EYES – Began awkwardly and lost ground. SADDLE BOY – Shifted in for some distance passing the 700 metres and made heavy contact with the running rail. FORGOTTEN FEELING – Passing the 700 metres, when over-racing, was momentarily eased from the heels of SEE MIRACLES which shifted in. Near the 250 metres was inconvenienced when steadied from the heels of HIDDEN EYES which shifted ground when placed under pressure. N Fazackerley, rider of HIDDEN EYES, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Race 3: SKY RACING F&M BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1300 metres FLYING MACHINE – Restrained from a wide draw to a rearward position closer to the running rail. ABB ROY – Over-raced for a short distance when ridden forward to the position outside the leader near the 900 metres. MAC'S GAL – Over-raced in the early stages. SCOTTISH MIST – Near the 150 metres shifted out under pressure and made contact with HALLOWED GIRL. Shortly after SCOTTISH MIST shifted in and bumped WILD AND READY. HALLOWED GIRL – Bumped near the 150 metres. L Cassidy, rider of HALLOWED GIRL, was fined the sum of $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. WILD AND READY – Bumped approaching the 100 metres. Race 4: CASCADE Maiden Handicap 1200 metres After being loaded into the barriers FIORENTE STAR became cast, was removed and examined by the Veterinary surgeon before being declared a late scratching at 3:39pm. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on FIORENTE STAR be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply: 1st WHOZYADEELER - 5 cents win for all win bets, 6 cents place2nd SINEAD - 10 cents place3rd THINK GLORY - 3 cents place Trainer B Lockwood was advised FIORENTE STAR would requirea further barrier certificate and a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.WHOZYADEELER – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600 metres shifted out to improve taking OFF ROAD wider on the track. WINDSTREAM – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a mild case of the thumps. BEFORE AND AFTER – Trainer L White was fined $100 under AR65 for failing to present the Identification card for that gelding when required to do so. TRAVOLI – Slow to begin. THINK GLORY – Over-raced near the 900 metres when being restrained to obtain cover. SINEAD – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight. MAIL TRAIN MAID – Stewards permitted apprentice S Tomlinson to ride the mare claiming 1.5kg of his 3kg allowance. S Tomlinson was fined $200 under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full allowance. OFF ROAD – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. Taken wider on the track leaving the 600 metres. Race 5: XXXX DRY QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap 1400 metres BRAZEN BRECCIA – Taken out at the start and bumped heavily on the hindquarters by MISHANI CONMAN. Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. COULOMB – Slow to begin. Rider C Caserta was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted. DEEP SCEIVA – Bumped at the start and became unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. MARLA JANE – Near the 600 metres improved onto the heels of ZAYDE and as a result shifted out and made heavy contact with BRAZEN BRECCIA. Soon after MARLA JANE shifted in and crowded KALIYA, which when over-racing, improved to the inside of that runner and had to be checked. THE CULLINAN – Steadied off the heels of ENTERPRISE MIA near the 800 metres. ZAYDE – Passing the 650 metres commenced to weaken and lost ground. Soon after dislodged the off-side winker. In light of today’s poor performance, trainer T Thomas will be advised ZAYDE will be ineligible to compete at metropolitan meetings until it establishes form at the provincial level. KALIYA – Bumped at the start. When the pace eased near the 1000 metres, had to be steadied away from the heels MARLA JANE. When continuing to over-race was again steadied from the heels of MARLA JANE near the 650 metres when improving to the inside of that runner. MISHANI CONMAN – Bumped at the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. TE JINA ROSE – Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. MARLEEDOONE – Bumped on jumping. Checked near the 650 metres. After passing the 400 metres shifted out to improve and contacted TE JINA ROSE Race 6: MOUNT FRANKLIN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1800 metres SILESIAN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. HALLSIDE FANDANGO – Slow to begin. THE GOLDEN HIND – A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off fore-leg. Co-trainer M Hoysted was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. STEEL PIER – Slow to begin. DAULAT TAI PANAZIZ – Declared a late scratching at 3:46pm due to a float breakdown. Race 7: BRC GIDDY UP CLUB C,G&E BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1300 metres VOULAIT – Over-raced in the early stages. Steadied near the 900 metres when LIABILITY was taken by BUSHIDO. Apprentice S Tomlinson, rider of BUSHIDO, was advised to exercise greater care. FINUCANE MISSILE – Slow to begin. STAY SMART – Slow to begin. HOROWITZ – Raced three wide for majority of the event. Race 8: BRC MEMBERSHIP PLUS Class 1 Handicap 1600 metres VENDIDIT – Held up rounding the home turn. BLITZEN PASTURE – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed an injury to the near fore tendon. Trainer R Heathcote was advised BLITZEN PASTURE would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. DARING MAN – Raced three wide with cover for majority of the event. Near the 1000 metres checked to avoid the heels of QUEEN LEAR. Near the 350 metres hampered between QUEEN LEAR which shifted out and MOSSHIKI which laid in. G Cartwright, rider of QUEEN LEAR, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Rider A Mallyon reported the gelding did not appreciate today’s firm racing surface. MONSTER OF POWER – Raced three wide without cover in the early and middle stages. ADELAIDE'S DIAMOND – Passing the 1500 metres, when racing fiercely, shifted out and made heavy contact with MONSTER OF POWER before being allowed to stride forward and obtain the lead near the 1000 metres. QUEEN LEAR – Approaching the 1000 meters, when over-racing, improved to the inside of WANTOK and soon after had to be checked. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near fore knee. THE DARK – As J Morris was to be overweight, he was replaced as the rider on that gelding by M Du Plessis. J Morris was fined $200 under AR190(3). Raced three wide without cover for majority of the event. TOP ORDER – Slow to begin. CASH BUNDLE – Slow to begin.
