GENERAL
 
A number of urine samples were taken from riders during todays race meeting.
 
Eagle Farm 3/4/2021 Race 5
GOTTA KISS – Trainer S O’Dea reported that subsequent to this start he had blood tests performed on the filly, which found an elevated white blood cell count consistent with the horse suffering a virus. The filly has worked well and since responded to treatment.
 
Race 1: TAB VENUE MODE Class 4 Handicap 1400 metres
 
MOCAMBO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Lay in under pressure in the home straight. T Marshall reported that after being slow to begin and losing ground he was reluctant to improve to the outside of SPIRIT ESPRIT approaching the 500m as he was of the opinion that he would be carried extremely wide rounding the home turn and for this reason he elected to follow SPIRIT ESPRIT until entering the home straight.
 
ZOULOU DANCER – Raced keenly during the middle stages.
 
Race 2: SKY RACING Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap
1200 metres
 
GAELIC – M Cahill reported that after not beginning cleanly he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated and further added that the gelding was disappointing. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
KRAMERIC – Slow to begin. R Fradd reported that, in his opinion, his mount would appreciate a track with more give.
 
KOBANG – Post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise.
 
VAST KAMA – Over-raced during the early stages and raced wide throughout.
 
IRISH THUNDER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 3: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW Maiden Plate
1000 metres
 
REALITY – Wide during the early stages.
 
BI TURBO – Hung out from the 600m until entering the home straight. Held up during the early part of the home straight.
 
DAULAT MACHTIGAMOR - Momentarily held up when passing the 300m.
 
FAVOURITE THINGS – Raced wide without cover. M Hellyer reported that his mount hung out rounding the home turn.
 
MY ADELINE – Raced wide. Lost ground when obliged to race in restricted room between PHILLY SPECIAL and BI TURBO, which hung out approaching the 500m.
 
CHARM BRACELET (NZ) – After being fractious in the enclosure was examined by the vet at the barriers and was cleared to start. M Wishart was fined the sum of $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted.
 
PHILLY SPECIAL – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4:  STRADBROKE SEASON FASHION LUNCH 7 MAY Class 6 Handicap 1200 metres
 
ELIXIR – Wide during the early stages.
 
KATY'S DAUGHTER – B Thompson could offer no explanation for the mares disappointing performance. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
GREAT POWERS – Slow to begin.
 
CHURNING – Slow to begin. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
Race 5: JAZZ UNDER THE STARS 13 MAY QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap 1600 metres

KIRKEBY – Held up rounding the home turn and the early part of the home straight. Disappointed for a run near the 350m, between PATTI WAGGIN and IDLING BY, before shifting back to the inside of PATTI WAGGIN to obtain clear running.
 
PUSHKIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Lay out over the concluding stages.
 
HENRY REEF – Slow to begin.
 
ATE HINCHES – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Post-race vet examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer K Schweida was advised the gelding would be barred from racing for 3 months and must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop prior to racing again as per the requirements of AR79.
 
PATTI WAGGIN – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
RATIONS (NZ) – Raced keenly during the early stages. Approaching the 400m improved onto the heels of OLLIE’S STAND.
 
LUNA AMANTE – Slow to begin. Bumped on the hindquarter near the 250m by IDLING BY.
 
 
Race 6: KINGSTON TOWN CLUB LUNCH 28 MAY QTIS 3-Y-O BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MOONAN ME – Apprentice J Huxtable reported that the horse did not feel comfortable in its action. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
OURCONI – Slow to begin. Post-race vet examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
 
MISHANI APPEAL – Slow to begin.
 
CHEMICAL EX – Became fractious when being transported to the course, underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 2pm. Trainer D Duryea was advised that a vet certificate is required prior to racing again.
 
Race 7: BRC CARNIVAL PLUS MEMBERSHIP Fillies and Mares Class 1
Handicap 1200 metres
 
QUEEN SWEEPER – Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
MELO MELO – Slow to begin.
 
DUBAI DREAMING – Slow to begin. Rider S Thornton and trainer R Heathcote could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
I PROMISE YOU – Over-raced during the early stages when restrained to obtain cover.
 
SAILING – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
ATLANTIC ROSE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 8: BRC TV BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1600 metres
 
MOREE DREAMING – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
THE MINIVAN – Slow to begin
 
HIGHMASTER – Became fractious in the barriers and reared before being examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start. R Maloney could offer no explanation for the geldings disappointing performance. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.

STORM HARBOUR – Near the 200m whilst weakening was steadied when tightened for room between THE MINIVAN and WILDWOOD JADE, which shifted in.
 
BIZOU – Slow to begin.
 
WILDWOOD JADE – Slow to begin.
