SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
BUNDABERG – RACE 5 – MORGANS QTIS BM55 HCP – 1600M - SATURDAY 4TH SETPEMBER 2021
 
FEARLESS QUEEN – Trainer P Duff reported that FEARLESS QUEEN had pulled up well since it’s disappointing performance, however indicated that the mare would now be sent for a spell and the stable would also now be considering the mare’s immediate racing future.
 
Race 1: BRC MEMBERSHIP MDN PLT - 1000M
 
DAY DAY SUPREME – Bumped on jumping.
 
GRACIOUS KNIGHT – Approaching the 500m had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring SCAMPY and was bumped by MENAZZI who shifted in.
 
MENAZZI – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels of LOVELY FREYA near the 700m. Approaching the 500m when racing greenly, shifted out and bumped with GRACIOUS KNIGHT and soon after shifted in abruptly. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the finish.
 
SCAMPY – Bumped on jumping and raced wide throughout. Put in awkward stride when rounding the home turn, shifted wider as a result and was eased down after not responding to jockey S Thornton’s riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N McCall was advised that SCAMPY would be required to barrier trial prior to its next start.
 
QUEEN SAFARI – Jumped awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition and was slow as a result. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay out from the 300m to over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: MOUNT FRANKLIN OPEN HCP – 1400M
 
CRUZE – Overraced onto the heels of RESET’S SON in the early stages.
 
FASTNET CYCLONE – Slow to begin.
 
GREAT KEPPELL – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 3: SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW QTIS 3YO MDN PLT – 1400M
 
BURLESY (NZ)- When questioned regarding the performance, jockey A Mallyon could offer no explanation and added that BURLESY (NZ) travelled well throughout but failed to respond when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HEAR HEAR- Raced wide throughout.
 
SAINT BARTHOLOMEW – Bumped on jumping.
 
THAT’S A MIRACLE – Near the 250m was awkwardly placed on heels and had to alter course to improve into clear running.
 
YES WE’RE READY – Raced wide with cover in the early stages.
 
CANADIAN DANCER – Shifted out on jumping bumping with SAINT BARTHOLOMEW. Overraced in the early stages and had to be restrained from the heels of BURLESY (A Mallyon) who was taken in marginally by SAINT BARTHOLOMEW (L Dittman). Jockeys L Dittman and A Mallyon were both advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Rounding the home turn was bumped on the hindquarters by
 
COOKIES ‘N’ CREAM – Slow to begin.
 
LEAGLESE – Overraced in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn until the 250m.
 
DANEROCK – Near the 800m was tightened and had to be restrained when CANADIAN DANCER shifted when racing keenly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4: SKY RACING MDN HCP – 1400M
 
COUNTYA FALLS (NZ) – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
KIRKEBY – Rider L Dittman reported that his mount travelled well but was very disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
COULOMB (NZ) – Hampered on jumping.
 
BIG ANDY – Contacted on jumping.
 
COERCED – Jumped awkwardly throwing its head in the air and overraced in the early and middle stages. Rider C Bayliss was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permissible. (Second offence).
 
HENRY REEF – Shifted out on jumping contacting BIG ANDY.
 
MISS HUSTLE – Rider A Fancourt dropped her whip near the 150m.
 
SARAVENGER – Tightened near the 800m when SUPER TROUBLE shifted in after being awkwardly placed on the heels of KIRKEBY.

OSTARA – Raced wide with no cover throughout.
 
Race 5: XXXX DRY C3 HCP – 1000M
 
Nil report.
 
Race 6: CAIRNS AMATEURS CARNIVAL C1 HCP – 1200M
 
CHOMPERS – Shifted out on jumping contacting GULF COUNTRY. When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice K Wilson-Taylor stated that he was forced to ride his mount with vigour from the early stages and although CHOMPERS only responded fairly to his riding, he was satisfied with how the gelding finished its race off.
 
GULF COUNTRY – Jumped awkwardly and checked on jumping when CHOMPERS and NORTHERN WOODS shifted respectively.
 
FAY CONQUERS ALL – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MELISENDE - When questioned regarding the performance, apprentice L Kilner could offer no explanation for the performance. She added that MELISENDE travelled well throughout the event, however when she placed the mare under pressure rounding the home turn, MELISENDE failed to respond, and she believed something may have gone amiss with the mare and therefore she elected not to place her mount under any further pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of mucus in both nostrils. Trainer T Gollan indicated that he would have MELISENDE scoped upon return to the stable and would report the findings back to Stewards where a decision would then be made on the immediate racing future of MELISENDE.
 
Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE BM65 HCP – 1800M
 
FLENSBURG – Overraced in the early stages.
 
EVITA LA VIE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
LUNASNIT – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey L Cassidy stated that his intentions were to be midfield with cover if possible, however when no other runners showed pace, he elected to press forward rather than be trapped wide. Stewards accepted the explanation.
 
PRINCE CAMELOT – Trainer D Forster advised stewards that considering today’s performance she would now be considering PRINCE CAMELOT’S immediate racing future.
 
Race 8: COUNTRY MUSIC WEEKEND 10-11 SEPTEMBER C2 HCP – 1400M
 
JACK THE LAD – Jumped awkwardly.
 
HAWAIIAN GEM – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in abruptly rounding the home turn before being corrected by its rider.
 
BECANDLENI – Slow to begin. Bumped on several occasions with SISTINE AVENUE near the 800m. Steadied when placed in restricted room by SISTINE AVENUE who shifted in and away from HAWAIIAN GEM.
 
CAIRNDOW – Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
A BIG CHANCE – Slow to begin.
 
SISTINE AVENUE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Steadied when rounding the home turn when HAWAIIAN GEM shifted in abruptly before being corrected by its rider.
