GENERAL
Stewards approved the following rider overweights:

Race 1: TREASURY BRISBANE OPEN Handicap 1825 metres
STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
SMART METEOR – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
Race 2: TREASURY BRISBANE BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1825 metres
BRILLIANT CONCEPT – Moved forward to race three wide without cover from the 1200m. When questioned regarding his tactics on the gelding, apprentice A. Thompson reported that approaching the 1200m when the pace slowed in front and he was obliged to steady off the heels of HE IS resulting in him having to steady his mount outwards and racing wide thereafter.
SAVVY LAD (NZ) – Tightened for room soon after the start by THREE WISE MEN. Laid in over the final 200m.
HE IS – Laid in over the final 200m.
VITESSE FRANCAIS – Approaching the 600m, shifted out to improve making contact with BRILLIANT CONCEPT and carried that runner wider.
GO DARCY (NZ) – Raced three wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to race outside the leader near the 1400m.
Race 3: TREASURY BRISBANE 3YO QUALITY HANDICAP 1300 metres
ROBODIRA – Raced three wide throughout. At the 200m, checked when crowded to the outside of ZAVABOOM. ZAVABOOM, which was laying outwards, and then shifted out abruptly and away from MINSK MOMENT, resulting in ROBODIRA having to be checked. Considering the circumstances, Stewards concluded that no one rider was culpable in the incident and took no further action.
RELEASE THE BEANS – Sprawled at the start.
MINSK MOMENT – Hampered at the start when tightened for room between KIR ROYALE and BULLOO, both of which shifted ground. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Near the 250m brushed with ZAVABOOM.
KIR ROYALE – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
ZAVABOOM – Near the 600m, had to be steadied when became awkwardly placed on the heels of KIR ROYALE.
READY FOR BETTER – Raced three wide in the early stages.
HAMLET VON SNITZEL – Began awkwardly and shifted out, hampering OUR RED PLANET.
Race 4: TREASURY BRISBANE BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1600 metres
WHAM – Slow to begin.
ENTERPRISE PRINCE – Jumped away awkwardly.
TOP ORDER – Slow into stride.
Race 5: TREASURY BRISBANE DALRELLO STAKES 1000 metres
MISHANI WARFARE – Near the 800m was crowded between BRERETON and PALAZZO SPIRIT, which shifted in slightly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
HEROIC SON – Crowded on jumped. Shortly after the start blundered after clipping heels.
JEMELDI – Slow to begin.
SOARING AMBITION – Momentarily steadied when making the turn into the straight.
MINKS STAR – Laid outwards after being brushed when making the turn into the straight.
MENARI MAGIC – Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: TREASURY BRISBANE Class 3 Plate 1200 metres
PALLADAS – Raced three wide without cover.
LOCH LOMOND (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover.
WHOZYADEELER – Laid outwards approaching the 900m.
MAYBE THE BEST – Raced three wide with cover.
FUMIKO – Near the 1000m, eased when racing tight to the inside of BAD BARISTA. Momentarily held up passing the 200m.
TITANIUM - Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.
MISTER LARRABEE – Slow to begin.
ONE SHY RUBY – Trainer C. Anderson reported that on returning to the stables, the filly was found to have bled from the off side nostril. Trainer was advised under the provisions of AR79(8) ONE SHY RUBY must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.
Race 7: TREASURY BRISBANE QUEENSLAND GUINEAS 1600 metres
RED WAVE – Bumped on jumping with ASHGROVE. At the first turn, RED WAVE steadied and made contact with BEND THE KNEE when racing tight to the inside of ASHGROVE. Jockey R. Maloney was advised to take more care in such circumstances. Near the 350m, RED WAVE became unbalanced after being buffeted between COASTWATCH and ASHGROVE, who shifted out and away from FESTIVAL DANCER.
MENAZZI – Raced keenly in the early stages.
ASHGROVE – Bumped on jumping with RED WAVE.
FESTIVAL DANCER – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that they will elect to settle further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
SEA RIPPLE – Slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Difficulty in obtain clear running in the straight until the final 100m.
Race 8: TAB VICTORY STAKES 1200 metres
COUNT DE RUPEE – Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of BALLER for a short distance.
ROTHFIRE – Caught wide in the early stages and was inclined to lay in. Jockey J. Orman commented that the gelding was caught wide early and had to work to obtain a forward position and will derive benefit from the run. The gelding underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.
SCALLOPINI – Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of BALLER for a short distance. Inclined to lay outwards in the straight.
IT’S ME – Laid in over the final 200m.
Race 9: TREASURY BRISBANE Class 6 Plate 1400 metres
AVOWAL – Jumped away awkwardly.
FIFTEEN ROUNDS - Trainer B. Lockwood advised of a change of tactics in that they will elect to settle further forward if circumstances permit. Caught wide early and had to be restrained to take a rearward position.
GO WANDJI – Declared a late scratching at 4.20pm after the gelding was fractious in the barriers kicking out and getting its back legs over the rear partition. The gelding was removed from the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on the inside of its off side hock, and was declared a late scratching. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on GO WANDJI be refunded with the following deductions applicable:
1st - 30c win, 21c place
2nd - 19c place
3rd - 25c place
Connections were advised that GO WANDJI must obtain a veterinary clearance and a barrier certificate prior to racing again.
NEW ARRANGEMENT (GB) – Clipped heels and blundered by the 300m resulting in its rider (K. McEvoy) becoming extremely unbalanced and almost being dislodged. At an inquiry it was established that approaching the 300m, rider T. Brooker (ZAC ATTACK) shifted out slightly. At the same time, OUR REBEL (M. Hellyer) shifted inwards slight. This resulted in LASTING KISS (B. Ryan) being crowded and checked. As a result of this incident, jockey M. Hellyer (OUR REBEL) attempted to relieve the pressure, shifting out abruptly, resulting in NEW ARRANGEMENT (GB) clipping heels and blundering. Stewards concluded that no one rider was culpable in the incident and took no further action.
OUR REBEL – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
LASTING KISS – Crowded and checked near the 300m.
