Race 1: NOVA 106.9 OXLADE STAKES 1300 metres

CALGARY STAMPEDE – Held up between the 500m and the 350m.

THELWELL – Held up between the 500m and the 350m.

ALLUDE – Slow to begin.

METALLICITY – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted out and bumped with SHAQUILA. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 200m.

BANK MAUR – Raced wide. Raced greenly rounding the bend at the 900m.

SHAQUILA – Bumped with ROBUSTO near the 300m.

ROBUSTO – Laid in near the 300m.

WHISTLING SPIRIT – Raced wide. Laid outwards approaching the 100m. Lost the near hind plate in running.

MINKS STAR – Overraced between the 1000m and 800m, resulting in MINKS STAR being restrained off the heels of WHISTLING SPIRIT near the 800m. Bumped with FLORAL OASIS near the 500m. Raced wide throughout. Bumped and momentarily inconvenienced approaching the 100m.

FLORAL OASIS – Hampered at the start when SEBRING GIRL was bumped by SHAQUILA. Raced wide.

KAMITORI – Near the 900m, when racing greenly, shifted out and carried FOUR MILE LANE wider on the track. Laid inwards under pressure near the 100m. Raced wide throughout.


Race 2: RADIOTAB THE WAYNE WILSON 1600 metres

KUBRICK – Jockey T. Berry was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip 9 times prior to the 100m.

BULLFINCH (GB) – Stood flatfooted and lost significant ground at the start. Overraced in the early stages.

ADELASE – Near the 500m, was carried out when KUBRICK shifted wider.


Race 3: XXXX BRISBANE CUP 3200 metres

IRISH SEQUEL (IRE) – Made a forward run from the 1000m. Jockey J. Macdonald was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.

SWEET THOMAS (GER) – Made a forward run from the 1000m. Jockey R. King was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.

PAPPALINO (FR) – Momentarily held up near the 350m, and again near the 150m and the 100m.

THROUGH IRISH EYES (NZ) – Made a forward move from the 1000m.

THE FEARLESS ONE (NZ) – Near the 2400m, went forward three wide. Crossed to race outside the leader near the 1900m.

TRADUCE (NZ) – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, went forward three wide, and then crossed to race outside the leader near the 1200m.

KING OF LEOGRANCE (FR) – A post race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the off fore tendon. Trainer R. Hickmott was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

BALMAURICE – A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a slow post race recovery. Stewards advised co-trainers R. Lipp and N. Hahn that the gelding will require the results of an endoscopic examination provided to Stewards prior to its next race start.


Race 4: CHANNEL 7 GUNSYND CLASSIC 1600 metres

FLYING CRAZY – Restrained at the start to gain a position close to the rail.

BATTLETON – Overraced in the early stages.

HOLSTEIN – Overraced in the early stages.


Race 5: MAKER'S MARK HINKLER HANDICAP 1200 metres

BLONDEAU – Slow to begin.

RANCH HAND – Jockey J. Macdonald was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

SHAQUERO – On approaching the 1000m, when racing keenly, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of RANGES.

SIMPLY FLY – Raced three wide without cover from the 800m.


Race 6: SKY RACING Q22 2200 metres

HUETOR (FR) – Near the 1000m, had to be eased when improved to the inside of LONDON BANKER when that runner shifted out slightly. When questioned regarding his mounts’ performance, jockey K. McEvoy stated that the horse raced keenly early and todays’ pattern of racing making it hard to make up ground from behind, he wasn’t overly disappointed in the horses’ performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

KUKERACHA (NZ) – Laid inwards in the straight.

LE DON DE VIE (GB) – Raced three wide in the early stages.

MAXIMAL (GB) – Held up from the 500m until the 200m.

BALLISTIC BOY – Raced three wide in the early stages.

CRIADERAS – Passing the 700m carried wider when THE CHOSEN ONE shifted out to improve.

LONDON BANKER – Checked passing the 2000m. On inquiry, jockey C. Williams pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 2000m he allowed his mount (YONKERS) to shift in, resulting in LONDON BANKER, KUKERACHA, COVENTINA BAY and CRIADERAS being crowded, with LONDON BANKER checking and losing ground. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account jockey Williams guilty plea, nature of the interference, degree of carelessness, and that the incident took place in a major race. Jockey C. Williams was suspended for a period of 12 days beginning midnight the 11th of June 2022 until midnight the 23rd of June 2022. Jockey Williams was advised of his right to internal review.

ISOTOPE – Lost off hind plate in running.


Race 7: TREASURY BRISBANE J.J. ATKINS 1600 metres

BRERETON – Leaving the 1000m became awkwardly placed on the heels of TWIN STARS and RINGMASTER. Disappointed for a run approaching the 400m.

POLITICAL DEBATE – Jockey J. Macdonald was suspended for 10 days from midnight 18th June to 30th June 2022 pursuant to AR132(5) for using his whip 17 times in totality. .

MISHANI SPARTAN – Slow to begin.

BROSNAN – Raced three wide throughout.

GREEN SHADOWS – Taken wider near the 900m. Raced four wide throughout. Underwent a post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.

SHARP ‘N’ SMART (NZ) – Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and the 200m.

RINGMASTER – Overraced in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout.

LETHAL THOUGHTS – Slow to begin. Raced four wide throughout.

SHEEZA BELTER – Near the 900m, improved up onto the heels of BRERETON and shifted out taking GREEN SHADOWS wider on the track. Raced three wide throughout. Had difficulty obtaining clear running until the 200m.


Race 8: TAB STRADBROKE HANDICAP 1400 metres

PRIVATE EYE – Difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

LAW OF INDICES (IRE) – Raced three wide with no cover.

APACHE CHASE – Began awkwardly.

ELEVEN ELEVEN – Crowded and inconvenienced near the 700m. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.

WILD PLANET – Slow to begin and checked soon after the start.

I AM SUPERMAN (IRE) – Hampered near the 700m.

AYRTON (NZ) – Raced four wide with no cover throughout.

BANDERSNATCH – Tightened for room at the start. Clipped heels near the 700m. On inquiry, jockey J. Kah, rider of AYRTON pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 700m, she made insufficient effort to straighten her mount, allowing it shift in, crowding BANDERSNATCH and ELEVEN ELEVEN, with BANDERSNATCH clipping heels and losing ground. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account jockey Kahs’ guilty plea, nature of the interference, degree of carelessness, and that the incident took place in a major race. Jockey J. Kah was suspended for a period of 13 days beginning midnight the 11th of June 2022 until midnight the 24th of June 2022. Jockey Kah was advised of her right to internal review.

NICCANOVA – Hampered near the 700m.

BUFFALO RIVER (USA) – Underwent a veterinary inspection on arrival after being significantly delayed in transport. Passed fit to start. Reared at the start and lost ground.

BROOKLYN HUSTLE – Restrained from an outside gate to the rear of the field. Hampered near the 700m.

STARTANTES – Tightened for room at the start. Hampered near the 700m.


Race 9: MAGIC MILLIONS DANE RIPPER STAKES 1300 metres

WRITTEN BEAUTY – Overraced in the early stages.

BRING THE RANSOM – Unable to secure clear running between the 400m and the 200m.

SALATEEN – At the 900m, had to be steadied when MARIAMIA shifted in.

APRIL RAIN – Raced wide throughout.

NAJMATY – Slow to begin.

ENTERPRISE KEREN – Underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer M. Lakey was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
