QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BRISBANE RACING CLUB EAGLE FARM– WEDNESDAY 26 OCTOBER 2022 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – 6MPENETROMETER – 5.96 OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – J WilliamsonStewards – G Goold, R Hitchener, J CreminClerk of Scales – S CoulthardJudge – R Thomas, M Mahwhinney, A Redding J LawVeterinarian – Dr G Silvestri Swab Attendants – A Challen, R Burchmann Starter – S Lister, H Anderson SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT From Gympie 23/10/22 Race 4- Trainer W Kuskopf was reprimanded for failing to enact the gear changes for NICHOLAS ADAM by the prescribed time. AR206(3) GENERAL Stewards approved the following the overweight allowances at today’s meeting- Race 1- PRETTY DEVINE- A Mallyon- +1/2kg.Race 4- ROLL UP- J Orman- +1kg.Race 8- BEN HUR- M Hellyer- +1kg. Race 1: ARC PROJECTS Maiden Handicap 1200 metres SCHMOOZER- Held up rounding the home turn. CANNY BE BETTER- Forced wider by another runner near the 700m. DRAMMATICA- Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels shortly after the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from rounding the home turn, until a point near the 200m where able to shift wider to improve. RAMOKA- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. VALENTINA EXPRESS- Bumped on jumping. CAPITAL GIRL- Slow to begin and then eased to avoid heels shortly after the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from rounding the home turn, until a point near the 200m where able to shift wider to improve. SECRET CASH- Began awkwardly. Race 2: GKA INVESTIGATIONS GROUP BENCHMARK 70 Handicap1200 metres CHECKERS- Laid in during the early stages. WUDDACUDDASHUDDA- Raced keenly in the early stages. As a consequence of improving onto heels, was shifted wider on the track by its rider and allowed to stride forward near the 900m to obtain the leading position near the 700m. IMPOSING BROOK- Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 900m. Jockey J Byrne advised that despite settling further back than he anticipated, the gelding travelled comfortably during the event, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN- Laid out rounding the home turn. Race 3: BAY BUILDING GROUP QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate1200 metres KINTAMANI- Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with another runner and lost ground. LUBRICATION- Trainer M Dunn advised that it was the intention for the colt to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Restrained in the early stages in an attempt to find cover, however was forced to race 3 wide without cover until a point near the 700m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. NORTHERN DECREE- Cast its off-hind plate leaving the enclosure. As a consequence, this plate was refitted by the farrier on arrival at the barriers. SONIC LIGHT- Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping and became unbalanced. GURU CLASS- Trainer J Bruce advised that it was the intention for the filly to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. INTOXEL- Tightened for room at the start. Raced wide during the early and middle stages. Became unbalanced when bumped near the 300m. SEQUACIOUS- Over raced in the early stages. Near the 300m was steadied to avoid heels when runners either side shifted ground. Race 4: JOHN LYNG GROUP BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres WHOSHOTTHEMAGICIAN- Trainer D Whyte was reprimanded for failed the scratch the gelding, which was a dual accepter at this meeting by the prescribed time. LR36(6)(a). ROYAL NICCI- Declared a late scratching at 1:15pm by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice. WILMOT PASS- Began awkwardly losing ground. SIP IT SLOW- Raced wide without cover throughout. ROLL UP- Jockey J Orman reported that it was his intention to be further forward, however the Colt failed to muster the speed he had anticipated, and for that reason rather than being caught wide he elected to restrain to a position with cover. Race 5: MORSE BUILDING CONSULTANCY BENCHMARK 70 Handicap1600 metres SIENNA'S CHOICE- Bumped and became unbalanced rounding the home turn. TOO MUCH CLASS- Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride out. NOBLE CAT- Near the 150m was forced to ease when awkwardly placed at the heels of TOO MUCH CLASS which shifted in whilst laying in under riding. Jockey B Thompson the rider of TOO MUCH CLASS was reprimanded as a result of this incident. CARNEROS- Attempted to shift out to improve rounding the home turn however was prevented from doing so by SIENNA’S CHOICE and as a result became held up until a point near the 200m. ROLLER COASTER- Over raced in the early stages. Race 6: STEAMATIC Class 1 Plate 1200 metres EUROMANTIC- Jockey M Cahill advised Stewards that Trainer C Munce had instructed him to ride the mare further back in the field if circumstances permit. Subsequently settled in a rearward position, 3 wide with cover. QUIZ SHOW- Raced wide without cover throughout. SPICY SONIC- Buffeted between runners and was eased when commencing to weaken near the 150m. Jockey B Loy reported that the gelding put in a few awkwardly strides in the early stages and from this point travelled only fairly for the remainder. Jockey Loy added that when placed under pressure the gelding failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. KASEAR- Held up in the early stages of the home straight and near the 150m was disappointed for a run and eased. O'MISS BEHAVING- When attempting a narrow run near the 200m, was disappointed and had to be steadied. SECRET NOTE- Raced wide with cover for the majority. LARRIKIN ROGUE- Began awkwardly losing ground. Made contact with SPICY SONIC when attempting a narrow run to the inside of that runner near the 200m. GREENSLEEVES- Began awkwardly. Race 7: PATTERSONS BUILD GROUP Class 5 Handicap 1400 metres GEO- Jockey A Mallyon could offer no tangible explanation for the below market expectation performance. AIR MARSHAL- Began awkwardly. HOPEFUL STAR- Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 1200m. Race 8: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS ON SALE NOW Class 2 Handicap1400 metres EXALTED CROWN- Laid out for the majority. Near the 700m improved onto heels and was eased. Near the 500m, whilst laying out, shifted out making contact with another runner and became unbalanced. HUSSON'S REVENGE- Trainer J Bruce advised that it is the intention for the filly to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. ELECTED- Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. MR DUDWEY- Slow to begin. BELLISSIMI AMICI- Buffeted between runners near the 500m and was eased. JEEHAAN- Slow to begin. Inconvenienced and steadied near the 500m. VERY INTOXICATING- Buffeted between runners near the 500m and was eased. BEN HUR- Rider reported that the gelding laid out under pressure in the home straight. ASSERTING- Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 500m. STOINKA- Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Laid in near the 500m making contact with another runner and became unbalanced. BOUDICA'S GIFT- Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
