SONNY DAZE – When asked to comment on the performance jockey B Thornton stated that in his opinion the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer S Morrisey reported that SONNY DAZE will be going for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
MOJAVE DESERT – Over raced during the middle stages. When asked to comment on the performance jockey N Rawiller, stated that the horse travelled comfortably, however when asked to quicken in the home straight, failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing in its finishing efforts. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be coughing. Trainer’s representative Mr B Killion was advised that the results of an endoscopic examination is required for the colt prior to next racing.
 
INFLUENTIAL – Raced keenly for a short distance near the 1300m. Jockey J McDonald reported that his mount raced greenly on entering the home straight and failed to respond to his riding, however, in his opinion finished the race off well. Jockey J McDonald was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
CAP FERRAT – Slow to begin.
 
ZIMO – Slow to begin.
 
NEW PHAROAH – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
AZULA – As a result of Jockey T Clark’s plane being delayed, he was replaced as the rider of the filly by Jockey R King. Laid in under pressure in the early stags of the home straight.
 
BRAVE AGENDA – Passing the 150m, had to shift wider after improving onto the heels of the weakening SONNY DAZE.
 
BLACK MINTO – Raced wide throughout.
 
ELECTRIC TIGRESS – Jockey B Thompson was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Race 2: 2 SEN BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1810 metres
 
IRISH PLAYBOY – Laid out under pressure from the 200m.
 
HASABRO (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
AUSSIE NUGGET (IRE) – Slow to begin.
 
HEAD OF STATE – Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J Orman stated that after being caught wide throughout, his mount laid out rounding the home turn and proved disappointing in its finishing efforts. Jockey Orman added that in his opinion the gelding is better suited to a firmer track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
ROUSSEAU – Near the 250m, steadied when placed in restricted room between ZADIG, which shifted out marginally and HASABRO, which laid in. Jockey C Schofield the rider of HASBRO was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. When questioned regarding the performance jockey J McDonald stated that his instructions were to settle forth or fifth in the running, but after beginning well, found himself in leading position. Jockey McDonald added that his mount travelled well, however when asked to quicken, proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SNEAK PREVIEW – Restrained at the start to obtain a rearward position closer to the rails. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THE FEARLESS ONE (NZ) – Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 500m, was bumped and became unbalanced when CLAIM THE CROWN shifted out to improve.
 
BELLATRIX BLACK (NZ) – Raced in restricted room over the final 50m when SNEAK PREVIEW shifted in under pressure. Jockey K Wilson-Taylor the rider of SNEAK PREVIEW was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
CLAIM THE CROWN (IRE) – Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on the performance jockey R King stated that she didn’t anticipate settling as far back in the field as she did. Jockey King added that the gelding felt very one-paced in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Race 3: STRADBROKE CALCUTTA 8 JUNE BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1200 metres
 
SIR WARWICK – Jumped in at the start. Held up entering the home straight and shifted out to improve, bumping LEGAL ESPRIT. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight and had to be steadied momentarily from the heels of SHAQUERO.
 
LEGAL ESPRIT – On entering the home straight was momentarily inconvenienced by SIR WARWICK, which shifted out to improve.
 
SHAQUERO – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey J McDonald could offer no explanation for the performance. Trainer’s representative Mr B Killion advised that he would report back with the conditions of the gelding in the days subsequent.
 
HAUNTED – Raced wide throughout.
 
HELLFEST – Restrained at the start to obtain a rearward position closer to the rails.
 
PERSEIDS – Slow to begin. Trainer N McCall was fined $300 pursuant to LR36(7)(a) for failing to scratch PERSEIDS, which was dually accepted, within the prescribed time.
 
MIX – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
GREY DEFENCE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
QUEEN BELLISSIMO (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain a position with cover. Jockey K Wilson-Taylor reported that his mount travelled well throughout however when placed under pressure at the 200m point, the mare weakened on its run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
GENZAI THE WOLF– Slow to begin. Held up from the 500m until the entrance of the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: LADBROKES LIGHTNING HANDICAP 1000 metres
 
MALKOVICH – Raced wide for the majority. When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J Parr stated that after being trapped wide, the gelding was unable to take up its customary leading position which he believes had a detrimental effect on its overall performance. He added that the gelding felt fine on pulling up.
 
SIMPLY FLY – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI SNIPER – Raced wide throughout.
 
BETTER GET SET – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RUBIQUITOUS – Near the 300m, shifted out to improve and bumped ARCHER’S PARADOX. Jockey K Wilson-Taylor was advised to exercise greater care. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
RED RUBI – On arrival at the barriers, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having blood present in its mouth and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Near the 200m, had to be eased and shift out when awkwardly placed at the heels of ARCHER’S PARADOX which laid in whilst weakening. Jockey G Cartwright the rider of ARCHER’S PARADOX was advised to exercise greater care.
 
GLORIOUS RUBY – Raced wide throughout. Had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between BETTER GET SET and MISHANI SNIPER which laid in. Jockey M Du Plessis the rider of MISHANI SNIPER was advised to exercise greater care.
 
Race 5: MAGIC MILLIONS NATIONAL CLASSIC 1600 metres
 
KIKU – Restrained at the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. At the entrance of the home straight, shifted out to improve and bumped THALASSOPHILE.
 
FOXY FRIDA – Passing the 1200m was inconvenienced and shifted wider when PRINCESS RHAENYS shifted out to a three-wide line. Raced wide throughout.
 
THALASSOPHILE – Bumped by KIKU on entering the home straight.
 
MEDIA AWARD – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining clear running passing the 300m.
 
FRUMOS (USA) – Approaching the 1200m, was steadied from the heels of SANTERO which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Held up approaching and rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
OCEAN TREATY (NZ) – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Passing the 1400m, raced in restricted room between FRUMOS and SELEQUE which was shifted out whilst over racing.  Raced wide throughout.  Cast its off hind plate in running.
 
SELEQUE – Over raced throughout. Approaching the 1300m, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of FRUMOS which was taken in by SANTERO which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice J Lloyd the rider of SANTERO pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that passing the 1300m, he allowed his mount to shift in, carrying FRUMOS in onto SELEQUE which had to be restrained. Again, near the 1200m SANTERO continued to shift in when insufficiently clear of FRUMOS which had to be restrained. Apprentice Lloyd’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight the 3rd of June and to expire midnight the 14th of June. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
PRINCESS RHAENYS – Approaching the 1200m, was awkwardly placed at the heels of SELEQUE as the pace of the race slackened, and as a result shifted wider. Raced wide throughout. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
OSMOSE (FR) – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn. From the 300m, raced in restricted room between OCEAN TREATY and SANTERO before obtaining clear running passing the 100m. Cast its off-fore plate in running.
 
ADELASE – Jumped in at the start and made heavy contact with OCEAN TREATY.
 
Race 6: NUTURF SPEAR CHIEF HANDICAP 1500 metres
 
SKYMAN (GB) – Over raced in the middle stages. Jockey N Rawiller was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
VINCO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MILITARY EXPERT – Inconvenienced passing the 1300m when MASTER JAMIE shifted in to cross to a leading position. Trainer’s representative Mr T Pollard advised that he would report back with the conditions of the horse in the days subsequent.
 
MUNHAMEK (GB) – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey B Egan was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
CHARMMEBABY (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
MASTER JAMIE – Jumped out at the start and bumped LINTHORPE LAD.
 
PUNTURA (NZ) – Steadied off heels near the 1200m. Held up from the 600m and until entering the home straight.
 
BRIGANTINE – Raced wide throughout.
 
LINTHORPE LAD – Over raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
ALBURQ – A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
TEARS OF LOVE – Over raced in the middle stages. Forced wider passing the 800m when MILITARY EXPERT shifted out to a one off line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer M Kropp was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 
DRIVE A DEEL – Forced wider passing the 800m when MILITARY EXPERT shifted out to a one off line. Near the 600m, awkwardly placed at the heels of MILITARY EXPERT which was taken in by TEARS OF LOVE. Jockey S Collett the rider of TEARS OF LOVE was advised to exercise greater care. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
MISTER YU SHU – Held up rounding the home turn. Near the 150m, held up on the heels of the tiring MASTER JAMIE and went to the line unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
Race 7: THE STAR MORETON CUP 1200 metres
 
PRINCE OF BOOM – Raced keenly for the majority.
 
QUANTICO – Over raced whilst racing in restricted room passing the 1000m and continued to over race for a short distance thereafter. Jockey J McDonald could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
GRAVINA – Raced wide throughout.
 
FIFTEEN ROUNDS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of heat stress and was treated by the on-course veterinarian.
 
IRISH SONGS – After being slow to begin, shifted across heels to a position closer to the rails. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
FROSTY ROCKS – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
FAR TOO EASY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 8: CHANNEL 7 QUEENSLAND OAKS 2200 metres
 
The start was delayed when TYRESA proved difficult to load. Trainer K Schweida was advised that the filly would be required to officially trial prior to next racing.
 
AFFAIRE A SUIVRE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
SO DAZZLING (NZ) – Held up for clear running until a point near the 200m.
 
TYRESA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
NOAH 'N' A DEEL – Approaching the 1700m, had to be restrained after riding with vigour to obtain a position one off the fence with cover and in doing so became awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHEVAL D’OR and had to be restrained.
 
SAKURA GIRL (NZ) – Cast its off-hind plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hindleg, consistent with having been galloped on.
 
SUPER CHILLED – Raced in restricted room approaching the first turn. Jockey J McDonald reported that he became concerned with his mounts action from the 600m and elected to not pressure the filly in the home straight.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer’s representative Mr B Killion was advised that the filly would require a veterinary certificate and to officially trial prior to next racing.
 
DIVINE PURPOSE – Jockey B Thompson was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
PROSCENIUM ARCH (NZ) – Passing the 1900m, had to be restrained when racing in restricted room between NOAH ‘N’ A DEEL and ORIGINAL GLAZE which was being restrained when taking evasive action.
 
ORIGINAL GLAZE – Approaching the first turn, obliged to check from the heels of DIVINE PURPOSE, which was forced inwards by SUPER CHILLED, which was taken in by CHEVAL D’OR, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey M McNab the rider of CHEVAL D’OR pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SUPER CHILLED, which was taken in onto DIVINE PURPOSE, which was forced inwards onto ORIGINAL GLAZE, causing that runner to have to check. Jockey McNab’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days to commence midnight the 10th of June and to expire midnight the 23rd of June.
 
YANKEE HUSSEL – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
AMOKURA – Slow to begin.
 
FIREFLIES – After being slow to begin shifted across heels to obtain a position closer to the rails.
 
Race 9: NOVA 106.9 QUEENSLAND DAY STAKES 1200 metres
 
BRERETON – When the pace slackened near the 900m, raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
GOLDEN BOOM – Over raced whilst being restrained in the early stages when racing in restricted room to the inside of RED CARD. Jockey J McDonald the rider of RED CARD was advised to exercise greater care.
 
MILLANE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DARK HARMONY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 150m.
 
HELLUVA BARTY – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery.
 
CHAIRMAN – Crowded at the start between HELLUVA BARTY and QUEEN ASSASSIN which jumped out. Raced wide throughout. Bumped on the hindquarters rounding the home turn when WRITTEN IN CODE shifted out to improve. Cast its off-fore plate in running.
 
EKATERINA – Improved onto and became awkward on heels of CHARMAN which shifted out under pressure rounding the home turn.
 
STROLL – Slow to begin.
 
RED CARD – Over raced in the early stages. Shifted out approaching the winning post.
 
GHAANATI – Raced wide throughout. Passing the 500m, bumped when VALIANCY shifted out to improve.
 
QUEEN ASSASSIN – Jumped out at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Crowded for room when weakening between DARK HARMONY and STROLL which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
BEZIQUE – Trainer T Gollan advised that it is the intention for the filly to be ridden more conservatively in today’s event. Ridden accordingly.
 
WRITTEN IN CODE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 100m, race in restricted room for a number of strides to the inside of GHAANATI which shifted in under pressure. Jockey D Oliver the rider of GHAANATI was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer’s representative Mr T Pollard advised that filly would be sent for a spell.
