Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey J. Collett the rider of the fourth placed WARNING against 3rd placed CAPTAIN ENVIOUS (NZ) (M. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage, were of the opinion that leaving the 350m, WARNING commenced to shift in under riding as CAPTAIN ENVIOUS (NZ)  was laying in, and could not be convinced that WARNING had been carried in by CAPTIN ENVIOUS (NZ). Stewards also considered the proximity to the finish line and how both runners finished the race off over the concluding stages and could not be satisfied that had this incident not occurred that WARNING would have finished ahead of CAPTAIN ENVIOUS (NZ) at the conclusion of the event and therefore the objection was dismissed, and correct weight given on the judges semaphored numbers.
