AdamsStewards – G. Goold, A. Schofield, W. Wain, J. Robinson Race 1: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS ON SALE QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1820 Metres THE TORQUE FACTOR – Apprentice C. Collis reported that the gelding travelled well throughout, however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. MISTING – Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight. Rider J. Orman reported that the filly was disappointing and failed to respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near foreleg. REMLAP KAVA – Over raced during the early stages. CHERRY LIPS – Over raced during the middle stages. On entering the home straight, bumped heavily by PROPOSE, which shifted out when attempting to improve into clear running. T. Marshall, rider of PROPOSE, was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in this incident. HARLEY CHARLIE – Over raced during the early stages. PRIDE OF SAVABELLA – Laid in during the early stages. Following the running of race 1, the track was upgraded to a Good (4). Race 2: NOVA 106.9 BM78 HANDICAP 1820 Metres WAIRERE FALLS (NZ) – Approaching the 1600m, restrained from the heels of HYDE which shifted in. Apprentice D. McGillivray, rider of HYDE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in under riding when insufficiently clear of WAIHERE FALLS (apprentice J. Franklin), who had to take hold of his mount and lose his rightful running. Apprentice McGillivray’s license to ride in races was suspended for thirteen days commencing at midnight the 20th of October 2024 and ending midnight the 2nd of November 2024. Apprentice McGillivray was advised of his right of appeal. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. HYDE – Became awkwardly placed on heels on entering the home straight. MENAZZI – Raced wide until approaching the 1000m. FLEUR DU MONDE – Rider J. Orman could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. COUP DE TONNERRE – Change of tactics – ridden to find cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. PENTITO – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer J. Edwards for the late declaration of rider. Raced wide from the 1100m. ROLLER COASTER (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and became awkwardly placed on heels. Race 3: BRC MEMBERSHIP QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1000 Metres JOY A PLENTY – Slow to begin. SHAMADAN – Rider R. Dolan reported that the filly didn’t travel at any stage of the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. TIME TO CRY – Blundered on jumping. TOP ROOSTER – Slow to begin. Rider N. Beriman reported that her mount changed legs rounding the home turn and commenced to weaken under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: SKY RACING BM80 HANDICAP 1000 Metres FLAMING CONQUEST – Bumped shortly after jumping resulting in rider G. Cartwright becoming awkward in the saddle. XPRESSO – Had difficulty obtaining clear running until approaching the 300m. HELLUVA BARTY – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. APPIN GIRL – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until the 200m. MUSCHIALLI – Approaching the 200m raced in restricted room to the inside of ACRES AWAY which laid in. SIMBU – Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 200m. GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) – Shifted in on jumping and bumped FLAMING CONQUEST. Shifted in approaching the 200m resulting in apprentice Lang’s whip becoming entangled before being corrected. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ACRES AWAY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: LADBROKES RACING CLUB OPEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres RUBIQUITOUS – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. NASHIRA – Slow to begin. GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Slow to begin. Forced wider by NASHIRA rounding the home turn. Race 6: DRINKWISE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1500 Metres Prior to the start being effected WONDERLAND STAR became fractious in the barriers and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.45pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets on WONDERLAND STAR be refunded with the following deductions to apply:1st CASTILLIAN 4c win, 3c place2nd MOOTESSA 6c place3rd VOLCANIC LOVE 5c place Trainer M. Dunn was advised that WONDERLAND STAR will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. ADELAD – Shifted out and bumped AMERICAN PHIREBALL. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of heat stress. AMERICAN PHIREBALL – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. READY AZZ EVA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. ALDEENAARY (IRE) – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room approaching the 100m. CASTILLIAN (NZ) – Raced in restricted room approaching the 300m. VOLCANIC LOVE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200m. KERKORIAN – Declared a late scratching at 12.42pm after becoming fractious in the float enroute the course. Trainer J. Bayliss was advised that KERKORIAN would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. CONNEWARRE – Raced keenly during the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. WHO ORDERED DAFISH – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Race 7: THE GIBSON CLASS 4 PLATE 1200 Metres EMPEROR – Began awkwardly. HELL – Bumped with CATWALK CRIMINAL on jumping. Apprentice E. Lang was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip on consecutive occasions prior to the 100m. BILLIONAIR BABY – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn. MIDORI BEAUTY - Slow to begin. CATWALK CRIMINAL – Bumped on jumping. Bumped passing the 150m. LOVES ME LIKEAROCK (GB) – Change of tactics – to be ridden to find cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. SPIRIT QUEEN – Jockey N. Beriman reported that the mare was not suited by the fast tempo of the event, however finished the race off well. SMOKIN' TOFF – Slow to begin. Race 8: XXXX QUEENSLAND CUP 2400 Metres MORMONA (FR) – Passing the winning post on the first occasion after improving into a position to the inside of TAPPY’S LAD, raced in restricted room for a number of strides before being restrained. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide throughout. Cast the off hind plate in running. TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) – Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn. NIKAU SPUR (NZ) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. KIRKEBY – Slow to begin. Held up from the 600m and entering home straight became awkwardly placed on heels of SIMPLY REFUSE before having to shift wider to improve. CHAYSE 'N' ARTIE – Underwent farrier attention on arrival at the barriers. Began awkwardly. Passing the 600m, attempted to improve into a run when there was insufficient room to the inside of ARTFUL GIRL, and as a result had to be checked and lost ground. Jockey L. Tarrant was advised to exercise more care in future. TAPPY'S LAD (NZ) – Commenced to over race when being restrained to find cover during the early stages. Raced wide throughout. ARTFUL GIRL – Approaching the 400m, had to be restrained from heels of TAPILDOODLEDO which laid out. HELEVA DEEL – Began awkwardly. GLEN MASSEY (NZ) – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the winning post on the first occasion. SIMPLY REFUSE – Stood flatfooted at the start. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Race 9: U&U RECRUITMENT CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1400 Metres WARBY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. POETIC DRAMA (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced during the middle stages. BELVEDERE BOYS – Rider M. Harley reported that the gelding was one paced in its finishing effort. Trainer M. Dunn reported that he was not overly disappointed with the effort of BELVEDERE BOYS and in his opinion, will benefit from stepping up in distance. BLACK DUKE – Over raced during the early and middle stages. Disappointed for a run approaching the 300m. Race 10: TATTERSALLS MEMBERS CUP HANDICAP 1400 Metres BANDERSNATCH – Change of tactics – to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Raced wide throughout. UCALLEDIT (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. GREBENI – Slow to begin. ARENTEE – Over raced during the early stages. BURNING BELL – Hampered between runners on jumping. Reported that on straightening she became concerned with the mare’s action and as such she desisted from pressuring BURNING BELL over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Co-trainer T. Edmonds was advised to report back on the post race condition on the mare in the days subsequent. WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ) – Raced in restricted room passing the 200m. THE DROVER – Slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. CRANKY HARRY – Raced wide throughout.
