Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey R. Dolan rider of TEN TRINITY SQUARE (3rd place getter) and Jockey R. Maloney, rider of POCKET FULL (2nd place getter) both lodged a protest against 1st place getter NED’S GULLY alleging interference over the final 100m. Stewards heard submissions from all riders and stable representatives and after considering the protest 3rd vs 1st, Stewards were satisfied that after leaving the 100m, NED’S GULLY shifted out abruptly, making heavy contact with TEN TRINITY SQUARE, resulting in that runner being severely hampered and becoming unbalanced. Stewards when considering the beaten margin and the interference suffered to TEN TRINITY SQUARE, were satisfied that had the interference have not occurred, it would have finished in advance of NED’S GULLY. Therefore, upholding the objection 3rd vs 1st and declaring correct weight on the new numbers of 5, 14, 2, 3.
