GENERAL
As jockey N. Callow was injured, rider replacements were as per the Raceday Summary.
 
Due to an administrative error, race 5 was incorrectly advertised on Racing Australia and some publications as being an apprentice claiming race. This was incorrect as per the initial advertised conditions of the race published by Racing Queensland and announcements were made by way of social media and oncourse broadcast.  
 
 
Race 1: GIRLS DAY OUT 1 MARCH BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP         2218 Metres
 
HABEEBAH (FR) – Change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early and middle stages. Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 300m. When asked to comment on the performance, rider A. Jones reported that her mount was inclined to over race and, in her opinion, may not have appreciated the firm track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
HALLSIDE MARTINI – Slow to begin. Rider T. Marshall reported that the mare raced flat today. Trainer J. Edwards advised that he will consider the immediate racing plans of HALLSIDE MARTINI, however the mare would likely head for a spell.
 
OLD SONG – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
SO SLEEK – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 2: XXXX CLASS 3 PLATE       1820 Metres
 
AUTUNNO – Raced wide until the 1200m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying clinical signs of the thumps.
 
CONNECTICUT – Over raced during the early stages.
 
JEALOUS – Over raced during the early stages.
 
MISS JOELENE – Approaching the 500m, clipped heels of SMOOTH TORQUE which shifted in abruptly. Cast the off fore plate in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off fore heel.
 
MOSZUR – Over raced during the early stages.
 
SMOOTH TORQUE – Laid in near the 500m.
 
TORIE'S ROSE – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout
 
REEL WILD (NZ) – Approaching the 500m, had to be restrained from heels of SMOOTH TORQUE which shifted in abruptly. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting ground in this incident.
 
 
Race 3: SEASON GREETINGS FROM BRC CLASS 6 HANDICAP            1000 Metres
 
SAFEWORK – Slow to begin.
 
BEZIQUE – Began awkwardly.
 
LIGHT OF BOOM – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Cast the off fore plate in running.
 
HEARTONI – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice C. Collis pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out fully to the line. In determining penalty, Stewards considered that the action cost HEARTONI third place. Apprentice Collis’ license to ride in races was suspended for fourteen days commencing midnight the 28th of December 2024 until midnight the 11th of January 2025. Apprentice Collis was advised of his rights of appeal.
 
 
 
Race 4: BRC LIFE MEMBERS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP            1500 Metres
 
MICKEY'S MEDAL – Raced wide throughout.
 
STARSONIC – Began awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
PENTITO – Raced wide throughout. Trainer J. Edwards reported that on returning to his stable PENTITO had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Mr Edward’s was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
AMERICAN PHIREBALL – When the pace of the race slackened passing the 1100m, obliged to restrain from heels and shift wider.
 
LARRIKIN ROGUE – Slow to begin.
 
ORIGINAL GLAZE – Trainer J. Bellamy was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
EXPECTANT – Began awkwardly.
 
CHAYSE 'N' ADAM – Hampered shortly after the start. Passing the 200m, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of PRANCING WITH FIRE which shifted out under pressure. Shortly thereafter raced in restricted room to the inside of PENTITO which laid in.
 
WHO ORDERED DAFISH – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 300m.
 
 
Race 5: SKY RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD QUALITY HANDICAP    1600 Metres
 
SAVOUR THE DREAM (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
 
CELESTIAL BLAZE – Over raced during the early stages.
 
SIMPLY FUN – Over raced during the early stages.
 
I'M HEROIC – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer D. Forster was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
WALSH BAY – Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor could offer no excuses for the disappointing performance, although in his opinion, the gelding is better suited to distances shorter than that of today’s event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stable representative will assess the gelding’s condition post race but it is the stable’s intention to send WALSH BAY for a spell.
 
MAZIS – Began awkwardly. Jockey R. Stewart was dislodged on pulling up, examined by the Club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements.
 
SANCTUARY STORM – Raced wide throughout.
 
HANG OUT – Approaching the 600m, became awkwardly placed on heels and had to be restrained.
 
JULIETA – At the 250m was brushed by SIMPLY FUN which shifted out to improve.
 
SHERAQUAY – Slow to begin
 
 
Race 6: SEVEN MEMBERS MILE         1600 Metres
 
TANNHAUSER – Held up for clear running from the 500m until entering the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
ENCODER – Raced wide throughout.
 
CASHIN' CHEX (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
KORUTO – As jockey R. Stewart was stood down he was replaced by jockey K. Wilson-Taylor. Began awkwardly.
 
ARTS OBJECT – Began awkwardly.
 

Race 7: MAGIC MILLIONS B.J. MCLACHLAN STAKES            1200 Metres
 
SECRET SORT – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.
 
THE BEAR – Obliged to alter course on entering the home straight.
 
MORTAL HALO – Shortly after entering the home straight shifted out to improve and in doing so hampered DESTINYS HALO.
 
DESTINYS SUMMIT – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the middle stages. Passing the 800m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of MORTAL HALO. Hampered on entering the home straight. Jockey J. Guthman-Chester, rider of MORTAL HALO, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
HI BARBIE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a cardiac arrythmia. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that HI BARBIE will require a veterinary clearance inclusive on an ECG, prior to trialling satisfactorily before to racing again.  
 
EGYPTIAN GODDESS – Slow to begin.
 
INSAIN LADY – Raced greenly throughout. Inconvenienced on entering the home straight.
 
 
Race 8: MAGIC MILLIONS FALVELON        1200 Metres
 
ROTHFIRE – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in and away from CANNONBALL near the 150m.
 
ZARASTRO – Near the 150m, inconvenienced after having its hindquarters contacted by HIDDEN WEALTH and passing the 100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of KING KAPA which shifted out under riding. Rider C. Graham, rider of KING KAPA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that passing the 100m, she allowed her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of ZARASTRO (A. Jones) who had to be restrained to avoid heels. Jockey Graham’s license to ride in races was suspended for nine days commencing at midnight the 22nd of December 2024 until midnight the 31st of December 2025. Jockey Graham was advised of her right of appeal.
 
HIDDEN WEALTH – Passing the 150m, had to be checked whilst racing in restricted room to the inside of ROTHFIRE which shifted in and away from CANNONBALL before being corrected by its rider. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CANNONBALL – Raced wide throughout.
 
ALL THAT PIZZAZZ – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 200m.
 
NETTUNO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
HARRY'S BAR – Slow to begin.
 
OUGHTON – Slow to begin.
 
SINAWANN (IRE) – Jockey R. Stewart was replaced by L. Tarrant. Over raced during the early stages.
 
 
Race 9: U&U RECRUITMENT BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP            1400 Metres
 
INVER PARK (GB) – Slow to begin.
 
JETTY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
POCKET FULL – Raced wide throughout.
 
DON'T STOP – Began awkwardly.
 
RISING PACIFIC (NZ) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a cardiac arrythmia. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that RISING PACIFIC will require a veterinary clearance inclusive on an ECG, prior to trialling satisfactorily before racing again. 
 
AMERICAN PRESIDENT – Over raced during the early stages.
 
 
Race 10: LADBROKES RACING CLUB CLASS 3 PLATE      1200 Metres
 
TALTARNI FIELDS – Stumbled on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THANKYOU HENRY – Inconvenienced on a number of occasions rounding the home turn. Passing the 300m hampered and carried wider by ADDRIEL which shifted out to improve.
 
TANNENBURG – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MISS BAYLES – Began awkwardly.
 
HEMAN – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Co-trainer C. Munce was advised to report back to Stewards anything that may come to light in the coming days anything that may have affected the gelding’s performance.
 
CERTAINLYCAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TARPS – Laid out under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
