Race 1: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1030 Metres
WALSHIE – Raced three wide throughout without cover.
TRIAGE – Slow to begin. Raced four wide throughout without cover.
PATCHE GIFT – Began awkwardly and then unable to muster early speed. Checked off heels of the weakening KRUGER near the 200 metres.
DAVE’S VALOUR – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
Race 2: CLASS B HDCP 1200 Metres
 
The start was delayed when the saddle on CRAIGLEA ARION needed to be re-fitted on arrival at the barriers.
 
STAZZANA – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home-turn.
 
SUPALUX – When asked to comment on the below market performance, rider R Faehr stated after beginning awkwardly and settling at the rear of the field, SUPALUX did not in his opinion appreciate the tight turning track, adding that the geldings recent good form had been on sand track surfaces. Stewards noted the explanation of R Faehr.
 
CRAIGLEA ARION – Fractious in the barriers after being loaded and then slow to begin.
 
OURLASTPENNY – Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
RELIABLE LASS (NZ) – Had to be steadied near the 900 metres when CIMARRON KID shifted in when not fully clear. H Phillips, rider of CIMARRON KID was advised to show greater in similar circumstances. Raced wide for majority of the event.
 
BAUHINIA DRUM – Slow to begin.
 
CIMARRON KID – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
 
 
Race 3: MAIDEN PLATE 1350 Metres
 
ANTIPODEAN LAD – Raced four wide throughout without cover.
 
MOTAL – Jumped out at start and bumped YOUPE. When asked to comment on the below market performance rider G Geran stated the gelding never travelled at any stage of the event and was disappointing. Trainer J Williams stated it would be her intention to retire MOTAL, however Stewards advised if circumstances were to change, MOTAL must trial satisfactorily before racing again. A post-race Veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Forced wider rounding the home-turn.
 
STONELEIGH JACKSON – Delayed start when difficult to load. Trainer S Mesken was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
YOUPE – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Despite the efforts of its rider hung out rounding the home-turn hampering both MOTAL and WYETH. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer representative for K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on YOUPE for hanging.
 
ALL IN SYNC – Began awkwardly.
 
LADY MAGIC – Raced three wide throughout.
 
WYETH – Forced wider rounding the home-turn.
 
 
 
Race 4: RATINGS 0-50 HDCP 1350 Metres
 
The start of this event was delayed when L McCoy, rider of PATRICK’S ME MATE, expressed concerns with the gelding’s action during the preliminary.  PATRICK’S ME MATE was subsequently withdrawn by order of Stewards at 3:25pm.  On announcement of correct weight, stewards ordered all bets on PATRICK’S ME MATE be refunded with deductions of 19 cents win and 16 cents the place on all winning wagers.  A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg.  Trainer S Mesken was advised PATRICK’S ME MATE would require a veterinary clearance before racing again
 
IDALIA’S DREAM – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALL ELLIE – Checked near the 900 metres when BOLTIN’ DESIRE shifted in when not clear.  App E MacPherson, rider of BOLTIN’ DESIRE, was reprimanded.  In issuing penalty, stewards took into account App MacPherson has only recently returned to race riding after an extended layoff due to injury.
 
ROCK ME HUSSY – A short distance after the start commenced to buck dislodging rider C Rogers who was attended to by QAS staff before being transported to Eidsvold base hospital for further treatment. C Rogers was advised she must obtain a medical clearance before resuming race riding.  Trainers representative for C Rogers was advised ROCK ME HUSSY must trial satisfactorily before racing again. The Racing Queensland safety officer was advised of the incident.
 
TELLOFF – Bumped near the 1000 metres.  Rider H Philips reported the gelding, in her opinion, did not appreciate the prevailing track conditions.
 
HEZAGIGOLO – Laid out across the heels of CYCLONE KAYCEE rounding the 1000 metre turn and shifted out bumping heavily with TELLOFF.
 
LUCIFER’S ANGEL – Raced wide throughout.
 

 
Race 5: CUP BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1350 Metres 
 
 
The start of this event was delayed awaiting the arrival of a replacement ambulance.
 SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  App R Wilson reported the mare did not appreciate the prevailing track conditions. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HAVA SHOUT – Raced three-wide throughout without cover.
 
TORRIENTE – Held up for clear running between the 400 metres until a point leaving the 200 metres.
 
CRAIGLEA SIMMO – Slow to begin.
