General: MADAM ETAK was declared a late scratching at 1pm when there was no rider available.
 
Race 1 – Benchmark 60 Hdcp 1030 METRES
 
WALSHIE – When asked to comment on the performance, Trainer B Murray was of the opinion the gelding performs best on firmer tracks than that of today.
 
ALLENA – Raced three wide in the early stages of the event.
 
DUKATTI – Made the home turn awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Crowded between runners on jumping. Slow to muster speed in the early stages. Rider reported the gelding would be better suited to races over a longer distance than that of today.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft 6.
 
 
Race 2 – Class B Hdcp 1200 METRES
 
HOMECALL – Slow to begin. Raced four wide from the 600 metres. Made the home turn awkwardly and lost ground.
 
QUEENOFMAINSTREET – Trainer D Reynolds was reprimanded under AR106(1) for presenting the mare incorrectly saddled when the surcingle was not included on presentation to the enclosure. Taken wider near the 1000 metres when HOMECALL laid out. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
ON THE TWEED – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 3 – Maiden Plate 1350 METRES
 
DUALAT ULTI MAIORA – Slow to begin.
 
KICK HI – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.
 
MARMION – Crowded and taken in near the 1000 metres. Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
SUDDEN SUSPECT – Slow to begin. Taken wider rounding the home turn when MARMION shifted out to improve.
 
ZIMBOOMBAH – Bumped on jumping. Raced in restricted room near the 1000 metres when MARMION was crowded and taken in by KICK HI. Apprentice M Philpott, rider of KICK HI, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
ARCEAGLE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft 5.
 
Race 4 – Band 0-50 Hdcp 1350 METRES
 
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Slow to begin. When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider K Gates stated the gelding never travelled at any stage of the event. Trainer B Gill advised LITTLE DRUMMER BOY may not have appreciated today’s prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
TOM’S STAR – Began awkwardly. Failed to respond to riding from the 800 metre and raced flat from that point. Rider H Phillips could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off-hind leg. Trainer D Rideout was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
CASSAVANCE – Raced three wide in the early stages. Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration above the offside eye.
 
FLYING KASS – Delayed the start after proving difficult to load. Trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
MOMENTUM GLORY – When asked to comment on the performance apprentice S Stephan reported in her opinion the gelding did not back up from its most recent start at Gladstone on 25th September 2021.
 
 
Race 5 – Open Hdcp 1350 METRES
 
I’M THE BUSINESS – Prior to moving out onto the track apprentice S Stephan was dislodged in the saddling enclosure, examined by QAS staff and cleared to fulfill her engagement.  Following the event S Stephan reported she had pain in the leg and rib area and was transported to Eidsvold hospital for treatment. S Stephan was advised she would require a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding.
