Race 1: XXXX QTIS 2YO Maiden Handicap- 1000 metres
1st – URULOKI 2nd – IF ONLY THEY KNOW 3rd – SEA CREST 4th- ZAZALURI

On arrival at the race course, SEA CREST underwent a veterinary inspection when it was reported the filly had pulled both hind plates and rubbed its hip whilst being transported. Both plates were replaced and the filly was cleared to start.

URULOKI (T. O’Hara) was slow to begin.

SEA CREST (D. Hayse) was a little slow to begin.

SPITFIRE DRAGON (C. Dixon) jumped outwards and raced ungenerously in the early stages.

RAPID HAYIL (S. Egan) raced wide throughout.

URULOKI raced greenly and shifted out in the straight.

Race 2: CQ News Maiden Handicap- 1000 metres
1st – UNCHAINED 2nd – PRINCESS PALYA 3rd – KAZAN 4th – APPEASER

When Jockey W Doyle was not riding at the meeting, Stewards permitted S. Egan to be the replacement rider.

Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer C Smith in regard to the late rider declaration of PRINCESS PALYA.

APPEASER, which was resuming from a significant spell, was inspected by the vet and cleared to start.

HAYYLER’S COURT (L. Dillon) was declared a late scratching at 2.17pm when unable to be loaded. Trainer G. Bell was advised the filly would be required to pass an official barrier trial prior to its next race start. Ms Bell reported that it would be her intention that the filly would leave her stable. Stewards were mindful this was the third embargo placed on the filly.
GREENWOOD MAGIC (App G Steele) was declared a late scratching at 2.18pm when unable to be loaded. Trainer B. Trimble was advised the filly would be required to pass a barrier jump-out prior to its next race start.

On the declaration of correct weight, all monies on these runners were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to apply to all successful bets:

PRINCESS PALYA 8 cents place
KAZAN 10 cents place

BOOMTOWN STAR was difficult to load.
INTERRUPTION (S. Egan) was slow to begin.
NOTARIES (C. Dixon) was a little slow to begin.

APPEASER (D. Hayse) and BOOMTOWN STAR (App K Gates) made contact, with BOOMTOWN STAR being hampered and taken in onto INTERRUPTION.

Race 3: Fairbairn Bakery Open Handicap- 1000 metres
1st – DOWN ANOTHER TRACK 2nd – COUNTY SHERIFF 3rd – ZAHMAO 4th – MISTABLISTA

ZAHMAO (App K Gates) blundered on jumping away.

BILLIE BLUE GUM (App G Steele) raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Emerald Garden Creations Class B Handicap- 1100 metres
1st – CICERAO MOUNTAIN 2nd – ARESVEPEE 3rd – MAGIC WALTZ 4th – SEISIA

MARTY was declared a late scratching at 1.00pm on veterinary advice when inspected after arrival on course and found to be lame in the near hind leg.

S. Egan was the replacement rider for MAGIC WALTZ.

HAYYLER’S HELL (App G. Steele) and SUSPICIOUS MISS (App C Pye) both jumped outwards.

MAGIC WALTZ jumped inwards and tightened ARESVEPEE (C. McIver) which was taken into PURE SUNSET which was hampered and lost ground.

SEISIA (App K Gates) raced wide in the early and middle stages.
SEISIA was momentarily held up rounding the home turn and shifted out, at which time, the mare bumped ARESVEPEE.

HER DIAMONDS (App J King) raced wide throughout.

Jockey C. McIver (ARESVEPEE) lost his whip near the 200 metres.

Race 5: David Lowery Diesel Repairs Class 3 Plate - 1200 metres
1st – BOOTOOLOO 2nd – SAINT BELLE 3rd –GREYWIN 4th – A DEPENDANT

GREYWIN (T. O’Hara) was severely inconvenienced between NAN BELL (D. Hayse), which had jumped out, and SAINT BELLE (L. Dillon).

CHECKER CHAMP (App J King) raced wide throughout.
