Race 1:  David & Valerie Korn Class B Handicap- 1000 metres
 
THAT PRETTY GIRL- The explanation for the late declaration of rider was accepted. Apprentice S. Palmer was the declared rider.
 
DIPPED IN GOLD- Declared a late scratching by Stewards at 8.45am when advised that the filly was unable to be floated to the race course.
 
FOREST GAZELLE- Jumped out onto another runner. When corrected, shifted in onto ORCHID AVENUE. Near the 600 metres, laid out and took another runner outwards. Approaching the winning post, awkward on heels of another runner.
 
SIR CLISBY- Near 600 metres, taken outwards.
 
GO GADGET GO- Contact with another runner at the start.
 
SHYCODA- Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 2:  Workpac Loves Emerald Class 3 Plate- 1100 metres  
 
WAYS AND MEANS- Jumped in onto SPURSYN.
 
SPURSYN- Contact with another runner at the start.
 
SOUTHERN ALBATROSS- Slow to begin.
 
MOUNTAIN LANE- A post-race veterinary inspection did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
DANCE HALO- Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3: Maria Hoare Maiden Plate- 1200 metres

FRICKLETON- Tightened between runners at the start.
 
PACIFIC PUZZLE- Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
DELANCIA- Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages when placed in restricted room between runners. Near the 300 metres, shifted in and caused FRICKLETON to be steadied on two occasions. A warning will be placed against the horse for its racing manners and Stewards intend to speak with Apprentice Graham regarding this incident.
 
Race 4: Herb Milne Memorial BM 65 Handicap- 1300 metres  
 
MAXWELLS CREEK- Slow to begin.
 
INACTION- Raced wide throughout.
 
ESPIRIT LIGHT- Raced three wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: Carol Finger BM 50 Handicap- 1300 metres
 
PURPLE EMPEROR- At the start, tightened and lost some ground.
 
IOWAPRINCE- Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
MY SISTER SUE- Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ICE MELODY- Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
HEY MURRI- Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
EMMAROSE- Stewards questioned App S Palmer with regard to the riding and performance of the mare. Rider stated the horse had begun only fairly and resents pressure in the early stages. He anticipated positioning the horse midfield however was unable to hold this position and near the 900 metres was placed at the rear of the field. From the 300 metres he placed the horse under pressure at which time it responded and finished the race off well.
