Race 1: Magic Bloodstock BenchMark 50 Handicap 1615m
 
MURRAMARANG – Stood flatfooted and lost some ground.
 
GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS – Raced three wide without cover until taking the lead near the 1200 metres.
 
HIGH CALL – Taken out three wide near the 1100 metres and raced wide without cover for the remainder.
 
ATEACES – Shifted out under pressure in the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: The Man From Snowy River BenchMark 60 Handicap 1300m
 
THE CLANG AFFAIR – App. S Tomlinson was reprimanded for failing to claim down to his riding weight and only claiming 3 kilograms. App. Tomlinson was cautioned with regard to providing false information when he was questioned by stewards in regard to his minimum riding weight. Jumped out and raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start and lost ground. Near the 300 metres, hung out. Rider dropped his whip near the 200 metres.
 
DIAMOND DISTRICT – Lunged at the barrier after being loaded.
 
MONO LAD – Jumped in onto OAKFIELD MIDNIGHT and lost some ground.
 
ONEMORE BOPA – Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 3: Waltzing Matilda Maiden Plate 1200m
 
MIDGIE GREM – Slow into stride and shifted inwards on jumping. Near the 350 metres, DUAN NYMPH shifted in and caused MIDGIE GREM to be placed in restricted room and have to shift outwards. App. A Thompson was reprimanded for this incident.
 
DUAN NYMPH – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
SNOOZE – Slow into stride.
 
HIP HIP – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 4: Maraboon Tavern Battle of the Bush Qualifier – Open Plate 1100m
 
The explanations regarding late rider declarations of HOT VINNI and SOCIETY QUEEN were accepted.
 
OSSENHAGEN – Declared a late scratching at 8:15am when it was discovered the horse had swelling in its near hind leg.
 
MASON’S CHANCE – Bumped by ANZUS and taken out onto ROCKETTE ROCKET and lost some ground.
 
HOT VINNI – Slow to begin.
 
ROCKETTE ROCKET – Near the 350 metres, steadied when ANZUS shifted in. App. N Seymour was reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort to keep her mount straight. App. N Seymour was also made aware of AR140(b) to report any circumstance which may have affected the performance of the horse. In this instance, App. Seymour had lost the full use of her off side iron and was placed in difficulty throughout.
 
Race 5: Nogoa Newsagency BenchMark 50 Handicap 1100m
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards were aware that BAUHINIA DROUGHT and COLLAR’S UP had been placed in and jumped from the incorrect barriers. In speaking to the starter and apprentices involved, it was found that a miscommunication had occurred, particularly as App N Seymour had been dual engaged on both these horses. In considering the circumstances and the limited experience of the apprentices, stewards took no action other that to make the apprentice aware of their responsibilities. 
 
LE JEU – Reared in the barrier prior to the start.
 
DENMAN DUDE – Slow to begin.
 
ENEMY OF MAN – Slow to begin.
 
BAUHINIA DROUGHT – When App. N Seymour was dual engaged, App. T Doyle replaced her. Stewards will seek an explanation from Trainer S Sigvart in regards to this dual engagement. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Near the 900 metres, shifted in and brushed the running rail.
 
EXCELLERO – Shifted out under pressure over the last 100 metres.
 
COLLAR’S UP – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
DOUBLE JAY GOLD – Raced wide with cover.
 
THAT PRETTY GIRL – Commenced to lose ground near the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed that the mare had bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion, Trainer D Schultz was advised that the mare would be barred from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop over 1000 metres to the satisfaction of stewards.
 
GRAND EDGEROI – Near the 500 metres was hampered when ENEMY OF MAN shifted out, when THAT PRETTY GIRL commenced to lose ground. Stewards noted that ENEMY OF MAN was racing keenly at this stage however, App. E Bell was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
