As App.  N Seymour was not riding at today’s meeting due to a hand injury and Jockey J Missen due to personal circumstances, rider replacements were made as per the Steward’s summary. App. N Seymour was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to race riding again.
 
Race 1: Herb & Deidre Milne Memorial Maiden Plate 1000m
 
App. A Ross was fined $200 for failing to claim any of her 2kg allowance.
 
PETITE EDITION – Jockey C McIver replaced App. N Seymour as there was no other apprentice available.
 
SERIOUS SYMPHONY – Jockey N Summers replaced Jockey D Evans due to a mistake in communication. Shortly after the start clipped heels of another runner and dipped badly.
 
LORETTA’S ROSE – Shifted out shortly after the start. App. A Thompson was issued with a severe reprimand for shifting ground when not clear to do so.
 
DART’S – Slow into stride and hung out throughout.
 
ALL ABOUT MARY – Approaching the 600 metres rider had to check and lose ground when crossed by another runner.
 
FAIRMONT – Raced four wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 2: Can Do Pest Control Ratings Band 0 – 50 Handicap 1000m
 
KAPACHINO MISS – Stewards allowed Jockey G Steele to ride 2.5kg overweight as there was no other ride available. Jumped inwards at the start and raced erratically with its head in the air for some distance before getting into stride near the 800 metres.  
 
ALL ABOUT MAGIC – Fractious prior to the start. Raced five wide throughout without cover.
 
METEOR’S MAN – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
SAME OLD STORY – App. B Mackie replaced App. N Seymour. Slow into stride.
 
NORTHERN SECRET – Raced four wide with cover.
 
INSOLVENT – Raced three wide with cover.
 
CSARDAS – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 200 metres to avoid the heels of another runner.
 
ZOOMING – Tightened on jumping. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
WILD JUSTICE – Jumped outwards at the start.
 
Race 3: CFMEU BenchMark 65 Handicap 1000m
 
Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of Jockey B Richardson as the rider of LIMITED.
 
MONO LAD – App. E Bell replaced App. N Seymour. Raced three wide with cover.
 
LIMITED – Slow into stride and failed to muster any early speed.
 
THE FLASH ONE – Raced three wide without cover. Trainer N Seymour was reprimanded for failing to present the horse with the correct gear.
 
CLAPPERS – Raced three wide with cover.
 
RAPT IN RUMBA – A post-race veterinary examination found a tendon injury to the near for leg. Trainer R Nelson was advised that he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to racing again.
 
Race 4: Bellequip Class 2 Plate 1200m
 
SCENT OF A WOMAN – Jockey D Evans replaced Jockey J Missen. Slow into stride.
 
ARCHIE’S SON – Over raced in the early stages.
 
Race 5: Happy New Years Class B Handicap 1300m
 
CAUSE HAVOC – App. A Ross replaced Jockey J Missen due to no other suitable senior rider being available. Slow to begin.
 
STAR FROM HEAVEN – Slow into stride.
 
ZEDAHEEL – Raced three wide without cover. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
MAGITORIAL – Knuckled at the start. Raced greenly throughout and three wide with cover.
