RACE 1: CTC ELECTRICAL CLASS 2 PLATE - 1000m
 
CORNFORTH – Slow to begin.
 
RATHER SILKY – Laid out rounding the home turn and continued to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
ZLOTO – When questioned regarding the performance of ZLOTO and in particular his vigour over the concluding stages, Jockey M Barnham stated that his mount hung out throughout the event and on entering the home straight changed strides on a number of occasions. He added that when he attempted to use his whip in the vicinity of the 100m his mount changed strides again and became awkward in its action so he elected to ride ZLOTO out with his hands and heels only over the concluding stages. Stewards noted his explanation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 2: DUGGAN BULK HAULAGE PTY LTD MAIDEN PLATE - 1100m
 
NOBLE THOUGHT – Jumped away awkwardly making contact with the inside partition of the barriers.
 
FEATHER YOUR NEST (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
PAPER TALK – Slow to begin.
 
RACE 3: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow the chairman of stewards to view the official photo finish after it was discovered that the wrong placings were semaphored by the judge. On inspection the correct numbers were subsequently semaphored and correct weight declared.
 
BELLA’S BROTHER – Slow to begin.
 
MUDCRAB – Hampered on jumping away.
 
ISIS JECTALE – Rider reported that his mount hung out rounding the home turn but on straightening hung in severely and placed him at a disadvantage when attempting to ride out over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
GREAT SHINE – Hampered on jumping away.
 
DRUMEOUS – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
ROCKET OF GOLD – Raced wide without cover.
 
RACE 4: DEFINE FITNESS CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200m
 
GREY FALCON – Slow into stride.
 
FIRST WITNESS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
REAL MACHINE – Rider S McGovern pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip on consecutive strides prior to the 100m and was reprimanded.
 
PERFECT TIMES – Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 5: CQ PUMP & IRRIGATION OPEN HANDICAP - 1200m
 
FASTNET FLYER -  Slow to begin.
 
SHIGERU MAHOGANY – Knuckled on jumping away.
 
KAKAKENNY – Slow to begin.
 
MUSTARRID – Hung in throughout the event.
 
PROANE – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running on enter the home straight and was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running.
 
THE FLASH ONE – When questioned regarding THE FLASH ONE leading by multiple lengths in today’s event. Apprentice E Bell stated that her mount raced fiercely throughout the event and after making multiple attempts was unable to settle THE FLASH ONE at any stage. She added that on entering the home straight her mount began to weaken noticeably.
 
 
RACE 6: EMERALD 100 TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP - 1300m
 
ESCADAY – Slow to begin.
 
ENEMY OF MAN – Laid in under pressure in the straight and in the vicinity of the 50m rolled in momentarily inconveniencing FLINDERS DEAGON.
 
FLINDERS DEAGON – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. In the vicinity of the 50m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of ENEMY OF MAN which rolled in marginally.
