McLellanSUPPLEMENTARYFrom Mackay race meeting Tuesday 17 March 2020 – Stewards interviewed Jockey C McIver in regard to him not fulfilling his rides at the meeting. Jockey McIver advised stewards that he had every intention of riding at the meeting but due to an emergency at his employer that morning was unable to leave. Due to the nature of the emergency stewards took no action against Jockey McIver but reminded him that if he is to accept rides at a meeting in future, his main obligation is to fulfil those engagements. Race 1: FLEXIHIRE BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1000MThe start of this race was delayed due to SOLO MELODY becoming cast, resulting in all runners having to be backed out of the barriers. All runners were examined by the veterinary surgeon and were passed fit to start.FOXY BELLA – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.HOLDIN’ MY OWN – Had to be steadied on jumping away to avoid the heels of FOXY BELLA which shifted out abruptly. ZORRO FEMININO – Had to be steadied in the vicinity of the 200m to avoid the heels of HOLDIN’ MY OWN which laid in under pressure. Apprentice D McGillivray, rider of HOLDIN’ MY OWN, was reminded of his obligations to stop and straighten his mounts when they shift ground in future.SOLO MELODY – Was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 12.05pm after being fractious in the barriers and becoming cast. Trainer Mr N Coyne was advised a warning would be placed on the record of SOLO MELODY in relation to its barrier manners.PUMP ACTION – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced green throughout.Race 2: WOODS TYRE SERVICE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100MVATOMANDRY – Late scratching at 12.45pm after refusing to load. Trainer B White was advised that VATOMANDRY would be required to gain a further barrier certificate prior to a future race start.FLUGLE – Refused to jump and took no part in the race. Trainer N King was advised that FLUGLE would be required to gain a further barrier certificate prior to a future race start.LAND THE CROWN - Late scratching at 12.45pm after refusing to load. Trainer C Smith was advised that LAND THE CROWN would be required to prior to a future race start.GEM SETTER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.Following the running of race 2 Apprentice A Bakos, who was dislodged by FLUGLE after being removed from the barriers, was examined by the on course ambulance officers and was passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements. Race 3: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB OPEN H'CAP – 1100MThe start of this race was delayed due to remedial work that needed to take place to the running rail.BLUE JEST – Slow to begin.PORTION CONTROL – Slow to begin.MADAM SHAZAM – Raced wide throughout.SEVEN YEAR REWARD – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted out abruptly on entering the home straight in an attempt to improve into clear running.MONO LAD – Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 900 metres had to be steadied on a number of occasions after improving onto heels. Overraced throughout the event. Race 4: ATW PROJECTS CLASS B H'CAP – 1200MCHINCHINBILLA – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.BAGGER NEMO – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after slipping behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.SIDINA – Slow into stride.D’GREAT BEAUTY – Rider reported that her saddle slipped back on entering the home straight placing her at a disadvantage over the concluding stages.MARQUANT (NZ) – Stewards permitted Jockey M Barnham to ride 3kg overweight as there was no other rider available. Rider reported that his mount failed to handle the track.Race 5: PATRICK REFRIGERATION BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1300MSTATIC LIFT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.THE CONSIGLIERE – Raced wide throughout.NO FINER JET – Rider reported that his mount felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer G Bell was fined $100 under AR165(3) for removing NO FINER JET off course prior to 30 minutes after the finish of the race.RENEWING HOPE – Slow to begin.
