SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Rockhampton, Race 6, 30.5.20
 
EARL OF FORDYCE – Rider M. Haley reported that after jumping awkwardly, he lost the use of his nearside iron momentarily but was able to regather shortly after.
 
 
Race 1: Southern Cross Termite & Control Class 6 Plate - 1000
 
HAYYLER’S ILLUSION – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination as it hadn’t started in over 12 months and was passed fit to start. As M. Barnham was overweight, M. Haley was permitted to replace him. Subsequently M. Barnham was fined $100 under AR190(3).  Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
ABSOLUTE BONZA – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
FIDEREUS – A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse had suffered a bilateral bleed on the first occasion. Trainer G. Bell was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
 
Race 2: Two At A Thyme Catering Open Plate – 1200m
 
FASTNET FLYER – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
FAB’S COWBOY – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
BLUE JEST – Contacted on jumping away.
 
MONO LAD – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 3: Maraboon Tavern QTIS Maiden Plate – 1300m
 
NEW SECRET – Declared a late scratching at 8.22 am due to no available rider.
 
ESPEREUS – Trainer A. Stephens advised that ESPEREUS would be late a arrival on course due to road works experienced. As such, ESPEREUS underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival on course and was passed fit to start. ESPEREUS underwent a prerace swab.  Slow to begin.
 
SO PROUD – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
SO SURREEL – Slow to begin.
 
SUPER SID – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey T. Chambers started that after being trapped wide in the early stages elected to push forward and cross and lead.  After doing so her mount raced keenly when attempting to settle and from the vicinity of the 500m failed to respond to her riding and ran to the line in a disappointing manner.  She added her mount felt awkward in its action in the home straight.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
TALES OF EPSILON – Jockey accidentally dropped his whip in the home straight.
 
HUGOLOSSAL – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4: Flexihire Benchmark 60 H’cap – 1300m
 
RESORT – Slow to begin.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
SHENRON – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
EMPEROR MAXIMILLIAN – Overraced in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey D. Graham stated that the EMPEROR MAXIMILLIAN hung in throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
FLAT TO STACK – Overraced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
DRUMSHOW – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
TANG DYNASTY – Held up on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 5: Woods Tyre Service Ratings Band 0-45  H’cap – 1200m
 
ALLOFIT – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and was slow into stride. Trainer D.Rideout was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of ALLOFIT.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Laid out under pressure in the straight.
 
CASSAVANCE – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
 
DREAM PIECE – Raced wide throughout.
 
FAVOR OF GOD – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after starting at Cairns on 28 May and was passed fit to start. When questioned regarding FAVOUR OF GOD leading in today’s event, trainer J. Manzelmann stated that it was his intention to have the mare settle further forward in today’s event and, in his opinion, the raced lacked genuine pace, however, in his opinion, this tactic was not suited and would instruct the rider next start to attempt to find cover.
 
 
Race 6: Emerald Jockey Club Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1000m
 
SIXES – Declared a late scratching at 8.22 due to no available rider.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards were notified that the photo-finish equipment malfunctioned during the race.  Stewards and Judges were comfortably satisfied with the numbers declared by the Judge and acting under AR214(4), correct weight was declared. 
 
PIRLO – Slow to begin. Failed to muster early speed.   When questioned regarding the performance, jockey A. Butler stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.  Trainer G. Bell advised that it was her intention to retire PIRLO. Nonetheless, stewards advised trainer G Bell that PIRLO must trial satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to its next start.
 
TYRANNIZE – Slow to begin.
 
CALCULATED RISK – Raced wide in the early and middle stages and was able to cross and take up a leading position, but laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
BOLD ZIP – Momentarily held up for clear running approaching the 500m and was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running.
 
SPOT ON – Raced wide throughout.
 
BAUHINIA DRUM – Raced wide throughout.
