Race 1: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB Maiden Plate 1200 metres

DO IT FOR VIV – Laid out rounding the home turn.

GREAT BRAVE – Due to a clerical error GREAT BRAVE raced without winkers. Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Jockey B Richardson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR115(1)(a) for her conduct in the vicinity of the weigh in area.

MAX'S SOURCE – Hampered on jumping away.

WEATHER MAN – Raced wide throughout the event. Passing the 500m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of FAMUS FELLA which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Apprentice D McGillivray, rider of FAMUS FELLA was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a). Passing the 300m became awkward in its stride.

ZIEDRICH – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn and while under pressure in the home straight.

FAMUS FELLA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 200m mark had to take corrective measures and shift out after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of CAT TWO.

CAT TWO – Hampered on jumping away. Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post.

EVRYNOW'N'THEN – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

SETLIN SAGE – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.


Race 2: BECOME A MEMBER TODAY OPEN Handicap 1200 metres

Prior to the running of Race 2 the track was upgraded to a Good 3.

DURIF – Slow to begin.

FRATELLINO – Rider reported that his mount hung in throughout the event placing him at a disadvantage.

AHWAHNEECHEE – Overraced throughout the event.

ART ATTACK – Slow to begin.

Race 3: TWO AT A THYME CATERING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1615 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards were advised that an error had occurred with the photo finish equipment capturing a photo. As there was no objection to the judge’s placings across the line, acting under AR214(4) correct weight was declared.

SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in throughout the event.

NECESSITAS – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

ATYAAF – Lost near hind plate in running.

AUTHADANE – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.

MAGIC WISHES – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the early stages.

ON THE TWEED – Overraced in the early and middle stages.


Race 4: SOUTHERN CROSS TERMITE & PEST CONTROL Class 3 Plate 1100 metres

BILLY THE KID – Hampered on jumping away. Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

LEROY ROCKS – Stewards permitted the late gear change of blinkers on to the gear of the gelding. Bounded on jumping away and shifted out abruptly. Raced wide throughout the event.

USURP – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 100m had to shift wider on the track to avoid the heels of VERNAZZA.

LORD GREYSTOKE – Jumped away awkwardly and rider N Day had to take correct measures shortly after. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

THE EGYPTIAN – Cleared to race after a pre-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not having raced for more than 12 months. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight and shifted out abruptly passing the 150m and had to be corrected. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.

MS WICKED NICCI – Hampered on jumping away.

VERNAZZA – Laid out rounding the home turn and continued to shift out under pressure in the straight despite the efforts of its rider.

FORGOTTEN FEELING – Hampered on jumping away.


Race 5: AAA ANTENNAS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres

Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey J Stanley, rider of second placegetter OLLIE’S STAND, to view the photo finish. As Jockey Stanley was satisfied with the judges placings, stewards declared correct weight.

ISIS TURBO – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly making heavy contact with GOLDEN PACKAGE. Raced greenly throughout the event.

YUBETIDO – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

OLLIE'S STAND – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

FAINTLY MACABRE – Fractious prior to jumping and after the start was affected shifted out abruptly on jumping making heavy contact with GOLDEN PACKAGE. Severely hampered shortly after jumping away by ALOTTA ATTITUDE, which shifted out.

SAINT NO MORE – Knuckled on jumping away. Raced wide throughout the event.

ALOTTA ATTITUDE – Shifted out shortly after jumping contacting FAINTLY MACABRE. Passing the 100m, shifted out and away from OLLIE’S STAND, which laid out under pressure.

GOLDEN PACKAGE – Cleared to race after undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination after not racing for more than 12 months. Severely hampered on jumping away. Raced wide throughout the event.


Race 6: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1300 metres


DELAGO EDITION – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 1000m had to be restrained after improving onto the heels of PERSAGA.

THE DECKERAIDER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

PERSAGA – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

FLAT TO STACK – Hampered on jumping away. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

LENNON'S PADDOCK – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1000m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of THE DECKERAIDER which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey B Appo, rider of THE DECKERAIDER was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). The careless riding being that passing the 1000m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LENNON’S PADDOCK causing that horse to be restrained. Jockey Beau Appo had his licence to ride in races suspended for 10 days to commence midnight 5th of March 2021 and to expire midnight the 15th of March 2021.

SIRATRO – Raced wide throughout the event.

DUAN PHOENIX – Jumped away awkwardly.


Race 7: WE ARE RACING 27TH MARCH BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1000 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight A Butler the rider of MARRON CHEVAL wished to view the stewards footage to ascertain if he had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays jockey Butler was satisfied he had been afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared.

LIEUTENANT – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

ALGEROBA – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

HARD ENOUGH – Approaching the 100m had to be checked and became awkward in its stride when having to avoid the heels of CIRCUIT JUDGE which was carried out by ALGEROBA, which shifted out and away from LIUTENANT and SIXTY ONE TIGERS which shifted in abruptly.

PETITE ELLE – Raced wide throughout the event. Passing the 500m became awkwardly placed on heels and had to be steadied.

ROCK PAPER SIZZLE – Approaching the 700m became awkwardly placed on heels and had to be restrained.

SIXTY ONE TIGERS – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 100m heavily contacting HARD ENOUGH. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer R. Vagg was advised of the provisions of AR79(4). The connections advised it was their intention to retire SIXTY ONE TIGERS from racing.

MARRON CHEVAL – Fractious in the barriers prior to jumping away. Hampered shortly after jumping away.

MRS SENNA – Passing the 600m became awkwardly placed on heels.
