RACE 1 - BARKERS NEWSAGENCY CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M
 
Jockey Agent, M Lakey was reprimanded under AR127(2) in that he contributed to Apprentice Jockey R Wilson for failing to fulfill her race day engagement on Tent Lover.

GENERAL
 
Due to no available rider, the following scratchings were made by order of the stewards.

Race 1: THE GROWER’S DAUGHTER BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1000 Metres
 
AMADEO – Jumped away awkwardly, and as a result was slow to begin.
 
PETITE ELLE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 2: EMERALD SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL Class B Handicap 1200 Metres
 
STARFILLY – Jumped away awkwardly, and in the process, dislodged Jockey B. Appo as he became unbalanced. Jockey B. Appo was assessed by the Ambulance Officials following the running of the race and was cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ARJAYCEE – Jockey E. Smith was granted permission from stewards to ride ARJAYCEE 0.5kg overweight.
 
Race 3: EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB Maiden Plate 1300Metres
 
DO IT FOR VIV – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide during the middle stages.
 
MONTEREY LAD – Jumped away awkwardly. Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
JACK 0’DIAMONDS – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SHOWTOWN – Jumped away awkwardly.

Race 4: BROLGA CONTRACTING RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 Handicap 1300 Metres
 
DEMURRAL – Jumped away awkwardly onto TAKEN ON CHANCE.
 
TAKENON CHANCE – Hampered on jumping by DEMURRAL.

Race 5: HAPPY EASTER BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1615 Metres
 
LEFKA’S ISLAND – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing in the past 7 days and was passed fit to start. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
