Hamblin was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted under the respective rule. HI HARRY – Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Stanley reported that the gelding inclined to hang out from the 400m for the remainder of the event, despite his best efforts. PIRACY – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Raced wide throughout the event. KRAVITZ – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event. Race 2: THE MARABOON TAVERN BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1000 Metres) ALEYSA’S QUEEN – Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Stanley reported that throughout today’s event, ALEYSA’S QUEEN failed to handle the heavy track conditions. MR NODDY – Was fractious in the barriers prior to the start of the event. Trainer R. Williams was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of MR NOODY for its barrier manners. Raced wide throughout the event. ALL NATIVE – Raced wide with cover throughout the early and middle stages of the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. BEGS BELIEF – Jumped away awkwardly. PERSAGA – When exiting the horse float after arriving on course, PERSAGA had its bit caught on a partition of the float. A veterinary examination revealed the mare to have had a tooth dislodged, and as such PERSAGA was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 12:44pm. CURRUMBIN – Elected to shift out over the concluding stages in the event to obtain clear racing room. BOUND TO ME – Raced wide throughout the event. Race 3: PIONEER PARK QTIS Maiden Plate (1200 Metres) MISS CONFIDANTE – Was momentarily inconvenienced approaching the 700m when CANTOR shifted out marginally. CAJUN LADY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.CANTOR – Slow to begin. Approaching the 700m, momentarily inconvenienced MISS CONFIDANTE when shifting out marginally. Tailed off entering the home straight, taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have lacerations on the off-hind leg, consistent with being galloped on. Trainer D. Rideout also reported to the stewards that CANTOR had lost its off-hind plate in running. Race 4: SPRINGSURE RURAL Class B Handicap (1280 Metres) TARGET THE STARS – Raced wide throughout the event.PRUNDA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. SHE’S OUR EMPRESS – Jockey T. Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted under the respective rule.TWOGOBOOM – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.Race 5: EMERALD SERVICE CENTRE EMERALD CUP OPEN Handicap (1615 Metres) HEZHOME – Slow to begin. POETIC HEART – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. STARS DON’T RUST – Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. SPRINGTHORPE – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. GEOFFROY – Slow to begin. Upon returning to scale, Jockey L. Miller reported that after travelling well in the early stages of the event, passing the 500m, he felt as though GEOFFROY felt awkward in its action, and as a result decided to not place any further pressure, taking no further competitive part for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. SO EMPRESSIVE – Raced wide throughout the event. Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Missen stated that in his opinion, SO EMPRESSIVE failed to handle the heavy track conditions in today’s event.
