Meek SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTBecause of rain events throughout the week leading up to the race meeting, Stewards and race club officials inspected the track at 6:30am and declared the track a heavy 8 and safe for racing. The decision was also made to move all race times back to start at 2:30pm with 35 minute intervals to accommodate for the race day clerks to arrive on course. GENERAL Overweights permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Race 1: EMERALD PARTY HIRE Maiden Plate 1000 metres TAORMINA MATCH – Over raced in the early and middle stages and ran about in the home straight. TISAYAC - Jumped out at the start. WISSHNOWSKY – Began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Race 2: TWO AT A THYME CATERING Class B Handicap 1000 metres GRAND PALAZZO – Slow into stride and showed no early speed. LOVE OVER GOLD – Jockey Emma Bell reported to stewards after the race that she struck right foot on the outside running rail enroute to the barriers, she was examined by the ambulance officers following the race and was cleared to continue riding. Jumped in at the start and bumped NITT WHITT and shifted out under pressure in the home straight. NITT WHITT – Showed no speed throughout. Race 3: TJF MILK OPEN Plate 1000 metres AHWAHNEECHEE – Raced four wide throughout without cover. AIRACOBRA – Raced five wide throughout. Rider reported that AIRACOBRA failed to handle the wet track. MARWAY – Fractious prior to the start. Ran in under pressure in the home straight. MR CRUISE – Raced three wide throughout without cover. Race 4: EVOKE MAINTENANCE SERVICES BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1280 metresDEMURRAL – Slow into stride and shifted in under pressure in the straight. MISS JEDI – Fractious prior to the start and was slow to begin. HE’S A WILD ONE - Ran about under pressure in the straight. Race 5: FLEXIHIRE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1615 metres PACKAGE – Approaching the 1500 metres rider had to check and lost ground when CUBIX shifted in. CUBIX – Approaching the 1500 metres shifted in and checked PACKAGE. Apprentice jockey Nicole Seymour pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR131(a) of careless riding, for allowing her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice Seymour’s license to ride in races was suspended for nine days from midnight 10th September 2022 up to midnight 19th September 2022.
