Race 1: JBG AUTO ELECTRICS QTIS Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
 
DESERT MOON – Laid in approaching the 100m.
 
FELONIOUS – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
IMPENDING RAIN – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
ROGUE ENCOUNTER – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
OLYMPIC MOTTO – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
PURPLE SONG – Laid in passing the 100m.
 
RUNINSCARED – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BANKSOFTHEBARCOO – Slow to begin. Tailed off from the remainder of the field near the 300m and took no further competitive part in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 2: EMERALD FORD Class B Handicap (1000 Metres)
 
MR TANGLES – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
KURYAKIN – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping and reared, becoming cast momentarily. KURYAKIN was declared a late scratching at 1:51pm on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on KURYAKIN be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
19 cents in the dollar for the win
20 cents in the dollar for the place
 
Trainer G. Bell was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next future race start. Trainer G. Bell was also advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next future race start. While KURYAKIN was fractious in the barriers, Jockey A. Butler’s right foot had been jammed up against the barrier partition. Jockey A. Butler was assessed by the on-course QAS officers and was cleared to ride his remaining engagements.
 
DAWN REBEL – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice J. Doolan advised stewards that her foot had made contact with the barrier partition. Apprentice J. Doolan was assessed by the on-course QAS officers and was cleared to ride her remaining engagements.
 
LESOTHO DIAMOND – Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
JACK O’DIAMONDS – Prior to the event, Trainer G. Bell advised that after multiple attempts, JACK O’DIAMONDS proved difficult in applying its blinkers. Stewards granted permission for the gelding to race without its blinkers. Trainer G. Bell was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record for its pre-race behaviour. Raced wide throughout. Following the running of the event, Trainer G. Bell advised that JACK O’DIAMONDS would be retired.
 
 
Race 3: PIRTEK EMERALD OPEN Handicap (1000 Metres)
 
AHWAHNEECHEE – Bumped on jumping when TRU BLU TANGO shifted out and HARALBEN shifted in.
 
FANAAR (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 700m. Was momentarily inconvenienced for clear racing room when ATTACKABEEL had shifted out. Apprentice B. Johnson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear.
 
TRU BLU TANGO – Shifted out on jumping, bumping AHWAHNEECHEE.
 
ZUKAZ – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
ATTACKABEEL – Approaching the 100m, laid out momentarily resulting in FANAAR (NZ) having to steady and shift wider to obtain clear racing room.
 
SPLASHER – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
PARKBURN – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, hampering KOSOWSKI.
 
HARALBEN – Shifted in on jumping, bumping AHWAHNEECHEE.
 
KOSOWSKI – Was hampered on jumping by PARKBURN which shifted out abruptly. Raced wide throughout. Upon returning to scale, Jockey W. Satherley advised stewards that his iron had broke when hampered on jumping, which had placed him difficultly fully testing his mount throughout the event.
 
TEST OF WAR – Raced wide in the early stages.

 
Race 4: PRIME PLUMBING BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200 Metres)
 
LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – Shifted in abruptly on jumping, bumping DIAMOND HANDS.
 
LIEUTENANT – Was declared a late scratching at 11:15am after Trainer T. Schofield advised stewards that LIEUTENANT was found to be lame in the off-foreleg when the gelding was being loaded onto the float. Trainer T. Schofield was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding’s next future race start.
 
DIAMOND HANDS – Was hampered on jumping by HILVERSTON which had been carried outwards by WIKI and LILY ALLEZ (NZ) which shifted in abruptly.
 
HILVERSTON – Bumped and carried inwards by WIKI on jumping.
 
HIGHLAND EAGLE – Laid in approaching the 100m. Raced in restricted room near the 50m and had to shift out to obtain clear racing room.
 
WIKI – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly, bumping with HILVERSTON resulting in that runner being carried inwards onto DIAMOND HANDS.
 
DUCHESS ADELE – Slow to begin.
 
MISTREY EMPEROR – Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey W. Satherley pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) for using his whip 18 times in totality. Jockey W. Satherley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days, with the suspension to commence midnight 5th of September 2023 and to conclude midnight 19th September 2023.
 
KASHKAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: TJF MILK BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1615 Metres)
 
STUBAI – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
DEMURRAL – Reared on jumping. Trainer G. Bell was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.
 
JERRY ZANDA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
IMPACTFUL – Slow to begin.
 
DEVIL ENUFF – Overraced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
DELIUS – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
