GENERAL
 
As Jockey T. Brummell was unable to attend today’s meeting, the rider replacement is as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.
 
 
Race 1:EMERALD ISUZU UTE Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
 
ALL HELL – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HIDDEN KNOWLEDGE – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. 
 
RAPID INSTINCT – Was fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Was inclined to hang inwards for majority of the event and raced greenly in the home straight. 
 
SLICK SHOOTER – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 200m, shifted in abruptly and had to be straightened by its rider.
 
BETTER OFF SINGLE – Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that BETTER OFF SINGLE had bled both nostrils for the first time. Trainer R. Williams was advised under the provisions of AR79(4), that BETTER OFF SINGLE would be stood down from racing for 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to its next future race start.
 
 
Race 2: QUARRIES OF QUEENSLAND Class B Handicap (1000 METRES)
 
CROWN REACH – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
WINDSONG – Raced wide in the early stages. Elected to race wide rounding the home turn.
 
MACFARLANE (GB) – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
 
Race 3: EAGLESHAMS MENSWEAR QTIS Class 3 Plate (1000 METRES)
 
ONCHAO – Jockey W. Satherley pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions AR132(5) for using his whip 15 times in totality, 1 more than permitted. Jockey Satherley was fined $300.
 
UNCLE FRANK – Raced wide in the early stages. Was tightened for clear racing room near the 100m between BUSH DIAMOND which shifted out when placed under pressure, and SHARWIN who was dictated inwards by JERLE which shifted in.  
 
BUSH DIAMOND – Bumped shortly after the start by TUPELAWARA. Overraced in the early stages. Was inclined to hang in near the 400m. Near the 100m, shifted out when placed under pressure, tightening UNCLE FRANK.  
 
JERLE – Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in slightly near the 100m, dictating SHARWIN inwards who in turn tightened UNCLE FRANK.  
 
TUPELAWARA – Knuckled on jumping and made contact with BUSH DIAMOND.
 
SHARWIN – Near the 100m, was dictating inwards by JERLE which had shifted in, resulting in UNCLE FRANK being placed in restricted room.
 
 
Race 4: LEE'S ENVIRONMENTAL OPEN Plate (1200 METRES)
 
AHWAHNEECHEE – Raced in restricted room near the 800m.
 
DEEP BREATH – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIG AND HOFF – Raced wide throughout. Rounding the 800m turn, was inclined to hang in momentarily tightening MOST IMPRESSIVE (NZ) who in turn tightened AHWAHNEECHEE.
 
MOST IMPRESSIVE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 800m.
 
 
Race 5: FAIRBAIRN BAKERY BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey T. Chambers, the rider of IMAGINE THAT, requested to view the photo finish image. After viewing the photo, Jockey T. Chambers was satisfied and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
 
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Laid inwards over the concluding stages when placed under pressure.
 
HALLSIDE HOT STUFF – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SPICY SONIC – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Z. Sprie was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
ZEITAKUNA – Slow to begin.
 
YUBETIDO – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: APH GLASS & ALUMINIUM QTIS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1615 METRES)
 
DEMURRAL – Had to steady to avoid the heels of FANTWA, which shifted in near the 100m.
 
HOLLYWOOD PARK (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FANTWA – Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in near the 100m, tightening DEMURRAL.
 
BRETON – Shifted out on jumping, bumping FLYING ARION.
 
FLYING ARION – Bumped on jumping by BRETON, which shifted out.
 
DELIUS – Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in today’s event, Trainer B. Trimble advised stewards that it is aways the stables intention to have DELIUS race in a forward position, however in its previous starts circumstances have not permitted DELIUS to race in this position. Apprentice N. Olzard confirmed that her instructions today were to be positive and race in the front half of the field. Trainer B. Trimble further stated that he will continue to race DELIUS in this pattern.
