GENERAL
 
 
 
Race 1: OUTBACK FLOORING LIGHTNING OPEN Handicap (1000 Metres
 
 
CAPTAIN FOX – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining an inside run.
 
MEDIA EMPIRE – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Was briefly tightened approaching the 700m when improving to the inside of CAPTAIN FOX.
 
TUPELAWARA – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 2: ENSHAM RESOURCES Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
 
 
RIVERVIEW RED – Began awkwardly.
 
ARACELI – When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, jockey E Bell stated that her mount raced greenly throughout and become unbalanced after losing the off-hind shoe in running.
 
SHE’S A FERRARI – Fractious prior to the start and began awkwardly. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
GIVE ME A MISSION – Jockey C McIver reported that the gelding was unable to muster early speed and raced greenly throughout.
 
NOBLE MASTER (NZ) – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
NEVA BREEZE – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.

 
Race 3: AMPCONTROL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1280 Metres)
 
CHILLI PALMER – Raced wide early. Shifted in under pressure in the home straight resulting in STEP THIS WAY having to shift out across heels near the 150m. Apprentice H Saunders was reminded of her requirements to ensure her mounts maintain a straight course.

STEP THIS WAY – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Had to switch out across the heels of CHILLI PALMER near the 150m when that runner shifted in under pressure.
 
SO OUTRAGEOUS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight briefly tightening BORNEES LAD near the 100m.
 
THE UNDERGROUND – Beagan awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages before racing ungenerously in the middle stages. Apprentice L O’Donnell advised that she felt the horse may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
SEISME – Slow to begin. Trainer R Vale advised that gelding had proved to be disappointing of late and would likely be retired from his stable.

BORNEES LAD – Briefly tightened near the 100m.
 
JELLISHOT – Slow into stride.
 
LOVE ON DISPLAY – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
COCO ROYALE – Jockey E Bell advised that the mare failed to respond to her riding efforts and she felt that there was something amiss over the concluding stages so elected to ease her mount down over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Connections were advised that the mare has been stood down from racing until the comnpletion of a satisfactory trial.
 
CASA FAGLIANO – Jockey J Pracey-Holmes advised that the mare failed to respond to his riding efforts and proved disappionting. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MISS TEAK – Slow into stride. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: RDO EQUIPMENT BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1615 Metres)
 
 
XARELLO – Fractious prior to the start and was slow to begin. Checked on the home turn by fallen runners.

MACFARLANE (GB) – Slow to begin. Blundered and fell on the point of the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a fracture to the right shoulder and the horse was euthanaised on humane grounds. Samples were collected for analysis.
 
ZELSON – Trailed the field throughout and took no competetive part. Jockey T Chambers was at a loss to explain the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examinatioin revealed no apparent abnormalities. Zelson has been stood down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial. Connections advised that the gelding will be likely retired.
 
DELIUS – Checked and fell on the point of the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a wound to the left nasal area and grazes to the nostril area and the presence of a small amount of blood consistent with the injuries sustained. No stand down was required due to the injury and presence of blood being caused by head trauma.
 
SHE’S OUR EMPRESS – Checked by fallen runners on the point of the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

TREBLA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5 was delayed significantly due to fallen riders Nikki Olzard and Chris McIver being attended to and then transported to hospital for further assessment. An inquiry will be conducted into the circumstances of MACFARLANE falling on the home turn at a time and date to fixed. Both riders are required to present a medical clearance prior to resuming riding which must be inclusive of a concussion assessment.
 
 
Race 5: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIFER / EMERALD FORD 100 OPEN Handicap (1850 Metres) No apprentice claims
 
FIGHTING COMMANDO – Trainer R Vale advised that after suffering a bout of colic in recent times the gelding has failed to race up to expectations and would now likely be retired from his stable.
 
MOENAVE – Slow to begin.

MOCAMBO – Emma Bell was the approved late rider replacement for injured C McIver.
 
KNIFE’S EDGE – Jockey J Pracey-Holmes pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) for applying the whip to his mount on 19 occasions in total. The license to ride in races of Mr Pracey-Holmes was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 15/10/2024 and conclude midnight 22/10/2024.

BORS – Slow to begin.
 
MOTAMAYIZ (GB) – Adam Spinks was the approved late rider replacement for injured N Olzard.
