RACE 1: FIRST IN 2017 FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
SHOW ME THE MUSIC - Began awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 300m. M. Cox the rider of FAREWELL ANNA was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in causing the crowding.
 
SARIAYA – Fractious behind barriers making contact with outside running rail, examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout Trainer B Phillips was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the filly.
 
CELTIC MIST – Near the 600m made contact with the running rail.
 
 
 
RACE 2: API COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
PALE FACE ROCKET – Began awkwardly. Hung out round the home turn.
 
LORD DARIUS – Bumped on jumping. Made the home turn wide. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
STRIKING WARRIOR – Commenced to buck shortly after the start and dislodged rider H. English. Post-race vet examination revealed the gelding had lacerations left foreleg and fetlock. Trainer  W Farrington was advised that the gelding must pass in two official barrier trials and obtain a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
 
 
 
RACE 3: DES MOORE MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M
 
App. H. English was examined and cleared by QAS to fulfil her engagements for the reminder of the day.
 
On return to scale rider C. Jokic made application for DIAMONDINE to be declared a non-runner. After hearing evidence from the rider, starter and viewing the footage stewards established that the mare became fractious as the start was effected and as a result lost ground on its own accord  therefore was declared a runner.
 
JAMMO JACK – Lost ground shortly after the start when tightened for room between runners.
 
CURRENT FIGURES – Blundered on jumping
 
SO CHOOSY – Raced in restricted room near the 300m and had to steady. P. Romeo the rider of JAMMO JACK was advised to exercise more care for allowing his mount to shift in.
 
MISS COLOMBIA- Raced wide throughout.
 
STORM ANCHOR – Raced 4 wide throughout.
 
 
RACE 4: QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1460M
 
ROYAL ROUTINE – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
TRUSTED MAGIC – Became awkward in its stride near the 700m. Post-race vert revealed no significant findings.
 
JAREL’S DRAGON – Rider reported that the gelding hang out for a majority of the race. Trainer M. Hemmings was advised that a warning to be placed on the racing manners of the  mare.
 
RACE 5: SEE YOU IN JULY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1460M
 
FLINDERS DEAGON – Raced wide throughout.
 
RED BOHEMIA – Held up when entering the home straight.
