QRIC Stewards Report ESK JOCKEY CLUB: 14th JULY 2018Weather: Fine Track: Good 3 Rail: TrueStewards: K Daly, C FedrickStarter: C WilliamsClerk of Scales: StewardsJudge: I SchultzVeterinarian: Dr C BoltonSwab Attendant: A Ansell Race 1: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 800 Metres MORE WORDLY – bumped by another runner leaving 300 metres. Raced wide throughout. NOURISHING – slow to begin. Rider reported at scale the mare felt awkward in its action. A post-race Vet examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer B Hudson was advised NOURISHING would require a Vet clearance prior to its next race start. TORQUATO TASSO – improved onto heels and held up leaving the 300 metres and a short distance later shifted wider on the track to improve and in doing so bumped bumped MORE WORDLY AIR TO SPARE – raced wide throughout. STORM ANCHOR – kicked by another runner prior to be loaded into the barriers. Examined by club Vet and cleared to start. Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres SHOW THE LOOK – slow to begin Race 3: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1200 Metres DRUM MASTER – tightened near 100 metres and obliged to steady ATOMIC MISSILE – fractious in barriers, began awkwardly and lost ground GLOBALLY – raced wide for majority of the event HIDDEN ANGEL – shifted in and tightened DRUM MASTER near 100 metres. App H English was advised to show more care in similar circumstances. DESERT PLAYBOY – jumped in at start and lost ground KAIZARI – slow to begin Race 4: MAIDEN PLATE 1460 Metres Declaration of correct weight was delayed when N Thomas, rider of second placegetter JANEMY, requested to view the photo finish print for first. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings. DEMESNE – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event LITTLE MISTER – rider C Eaton reported at scale the gelding was inclined to hang out for the majority of the event. NO SHENANIGANS – jumped out at the start JANEMY – bumped at the start and lost ground Race 5: CLASS B HDCP 1460Metres WAKE UP VICTA – brushed the running rail near the 1100 metres MISHANI SILVA – slow to begin WHISTLINDIXIE LAD – rider reported at scale the gelding did not appreciate todays firm surface CARTAGENA – wide throughout. Laid in under pressure rounding the home-turn.
