Prior to declaration of correct weight B Hudson, trainer of 3rd placegetter SPEZIA LADY, viewed the DVD replay before lodging a protest against first the past the post MIRACLE STAR alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from connections of both runners, viewing the DVD replay and acting on their own observations the protest was dismissed. In arriving at decision and taking into account the ¾ length margin, Stewards acknowledged that although both runners raced tightly over the final 150 metres, SPEZIA LADY was afforded clear running at all times and MRACLE LADY maintained a one off position.
