Race 1: SOMERSET REGION MDN PLT – 800M
 
KAKATIYA – Reared on jumping and lost ground. Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
LADY RASCAL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Began awkwardly.
 
QUEENS GUARD – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly. Near the 200m was momentarily inconvenienced when KAKATIYA (K Gates) shifted out when not sufficiently clear. K Gates was advised to exercise more care. Performance queried. Rider B Appo could offer no explanation for the poor performance.
 
Race 2: RED DEER CAFE BM60 HCP – 800M
 
Due to the QAS ambulance officers having to attend to an on-course patron, this race jumped at 2:15pm.
 
TRY ME DOL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not started in excess of two years and was passed suitable to race. Slow to begin. 
 
GODFATHER’S GIRL – Raced wide throughout.
 
SWAN ISLAND – Bumped near the 150m.
 
CURRY CONNECTION – Bumped near the 150m.
 
ROOTS ‘N’ ROCKS – Slow to begin.
Race 3: ESK GOLF CLUB BM55 HCP – 1200M
 
Due to the QAS ambulance officers having to attend to an on-course patron, this race jumped at 2:45pm.
 
GREY NOISE – Hung out for the majority of the event placing its rider at a severe disadvantage.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C Allardyce was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
TROJAN ANGEL – Over raced throughout. Near the 500m was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of GREY NOISE.
 
GAME SET MATCH – Near the 500m bumped with PATRICK’S ME MATE.   A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MAKE AMENDS – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost ground. Near the 400m had to be checked when crowded for room between SILVERBROOK LAD and GREY NOISE, which hung out despite the efforts of its rider.
 
SILVERBROOK LAD – Slow to begin.
 
LITTLE ALBERT – Near the 600m had to be steadied off the heels of GREY NOISE.
 
PATRICK’S ME MATE – Near the 500m bumped with GAME SET MATCH.
 
Race 4: GRAND HOTEL ESK QTIS MDN PLT – 1460M
 
Due to the QAS ambulance officers having to attend to an on-course patron, this race jumped at 3:20pm.
 
MAGIC BOOM – Slow to begin. Near the 1000m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of MONTBARD (NZ).
 
MONTBARD (NZ) – Near the 400m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room to inside of JAZZ.
 
FROM THE GONG – Tactics from the 500m queried. Apprentice Z Sprie explained that approaching this point his intention approaching the 500m was to maintain his running to the outside of the heels of SAN BERNADINO as he was mindful of his mounts tendency to lay in. When questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to hold the race favourite ROYALSPECTOR in a position to his inside, he advised that he was unaware of this runner improving to his inside and further added that he was more cognisant of ensuring that his mount was balanced and travelling well to the home turn. Stewards advised Apprentice Sprie that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make use of his mount given the circumstances of the race.
 
JAZZ – Checked shortly after the start. Near the 1200m was inconvenienced and taken wider. Near the 1000m laid in, making contact with MAGIC BOOM. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUR DOLL – Commenced to weaken from the 700m and proved uncompetitive. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Hepworth advised that the mare would now be leaving his stable.
 
ELITE ELIZABETH – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m was inconvenienced and taken wider.
 
BARTA LINES – Passing the 150m had to be steadied when disappointed for a run.
 
Race 5: SEE YOU IN JULY CL B HCP – 1750M
 
Due to the QAS ambulance officers having to attend to an on-course patron, this race jumped at 4:10pm.
 
ALLUDERE – Raced wide and without cover in the middle stages.
 
LUCITOR – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Near the 400m appeared to jump a shadow on the track.
 
CHICA ROSE – Near the 50m bumped with JUMERIAH TRIANGLE.
 
ARISE MY SON – Checked on jumping. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
FRONT PAGE NEWS – Hung out in the middle stages.
 
JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Restrained shortly after the start when crowded. Near the 50m bumped with CHICA ROSE.
 
MADAME GRACE – Stood flatfooted as the start was affected and lost ground.
 
HECANROCKME – Checked shortly after the start. Raced wide and without cover throughout.
 
FERGUS EN MARCHE – Restrained when crowded for room shortly after jumping.
