GENERAL
 
As Apprentice O Webb was indisposed, changes were permitted as per raceday summary.
 
Race 1: THANKS TOM AND TIM BM55 HCP – 800M
 
The start of the race was delayed when the ambulance had to attend an emergency en-route to the racecourse causing it to arrive late on course.

SWAN ISLAND – Apprentice J McGrath received a reprimand under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
RED DRESS – Slow to begin.
 
DREAM CHANCE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – After the conclusion of this event Jockey C Meehan asked stewards to inspect a section of track near the 600m where he thought the surface may have been uneven causing his mount THE BUMBLEBEE to dip and become unbalanced. An inspection by Stewards and Senior Jockeys was unable to find a fault with the track and it was deemed suitable to continue racing.
 
Race 2: THE SIPPEL FAMILY SHENANIGANS MDN PLT – 800M
 
BEEF’N’BLACK BEAN – Checked and lost ground when BEAR FOREVER shifted in away from BONA DEA at the 450m.
 
FASTEST TRIGGER – Jockey S Lacy reported that the gelding hung out throughout the event.
 
MISTER QUICKSTEP – Stood flat footed when the start was affected. Trainer J Brown was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a barrier certificate before racing again.
 
PLENTY TO SAY – Hung out rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary inspection revealed the gelding had bled both nostrils. Trainer B Hudson was advised the gelding must not start in a race for a period of 3 months, and must perform a satisfactory gallop over 1000m in the presence of a steward.
BEAR FOREVER – Overreacted and shifted in away from BONA DEA at the 450m causing BEEF‘N’BLACK BEAN to be checked.
 
BONA DEA – Raced three wide with cover. At the 450m was steadied from the heels of VAN D’ORO and shifted in.
 
VAN D’ORO – Raced three wide throughout with no cover.
 
ZAKHEERA – Hung out in the home straight
 
Race 3: JONATHON ROSS MEMORIAL QTIS MDN PLT – 1200M
 
Correct weight was delayed when the third placegetter, Jockey N Thomas requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge a protest. After viewing the films, he advised that he did not wish to proceed with the protest. Stewards declared correct weight on the Judges placings.
 
 
CURLEY BEAU – Began awkwardly shifting in bumping with MISHANI VANDAL. Approaching the 1100m shifted in away from JUST RAFFERTY and crowded FAVOURITE THINGS for room.
 
MISHANI VANDAL – Bumped on jumping.Raced wide throughout.
 
SPRIGGER – Slow to begin.
 
FAVOURITE THINGS – Crowded for room approaching the 1100m.
 
Race 4: SOUTH EAST COUNTRY VETS QTIS MDN PLT – 1200M
 
KNIGHT ENAMOURED – A post-race veterinary inspection revealed the gelding had been galloped on during the event on his off hind.
 
PERCY – Approaching the 1000m had to be steadied when KNIGHT ENAMOURED shifted in.
 
JUST GIGI – Fractious in the barriers.
 
Race 5: RAY WHITE RURAL ESK/TOOGOOLAWAH CL B HCP – 1200M
 
COALBANK CAVALRY – Stewards spoke to Apprentice Jockey Z Sprie and reminded him of his obligation to give riders on his inside sufficient room. Raced wide throughout.
SPECTATE – Raced wide throughout.
 
MAGIC MOET – Raced in restricted room at the 900m.
 
SPLASHING ROSSA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MOVING DAY – Raced in restricted room at the 900m.
 
ROZEIRA – Slow to begin and lost ground.
 
WINERIES – Raced in restricted room at the 900m.
 
MOUNTEBANK – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LORD OF THE DREAMZ – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: ESK CARAVAN PARK & B V RAIL MOTEL BM65 HCP – 1200M
 
PENASQUITO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial abrasions to the off hind consistent with being galloped on.
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Jockey Kelly Gates was fined $400 under rule AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
EMSHALKY – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: BACK HERE IN MARCH CL B HCP – 1460M
 
ALL JEED UP – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
LEADBURN LION – Raced three wide throughout without cover.
 
CHICA ROSE – Slow to begin. Jockey S Lacy reported that after being slow to begin she had to settle further back in the field than intended which placed her at a disadvantage. She was pleased with the way CHICA ROSE finished the race off and felt the mare would derive benefit from the run.
 
Race 8: BURNET TO THE BEACH BM55 HCP – 1750M
 
RESET’S SON – Raced three wide without cover. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
SPACE IS DEEP – Jockey K Gates was fined $600 under rule AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 8 times prior to the100m, 3 more than permitted.
 
OPEN ROAD – Slow to begin. Apprentice jockey J McGrath commented that it was her opinion the gelding didn’t perform as she expected and would benefit from a spell.
 
SUPERVISOR – Raced three wide with cover.
 
LINCOLN FURY – Raced three wide with cover.
 
SOMEBODY STOP ME – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for the majority of the straight.
