GENERAL
 
Track upgraded to a Heavy (8) @ 10.30am.
The start of race two (2) was delayed for approximately one (1) hour due to a patron requiring medical attention and the arrival of another ambulance.
Due to the delay apprentice jockeys I Rabjones and O Webb were replaced in race four (4) due to riding commitments at the Toowoomba TAB meeting. Jockey K Yoshida was replaced in race six (6) due to riding commitments at the Toowoomba TAB meeting.
 
Race 1: A & M CIVIL CONTRACTING BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 800 metres
 
IN’HINCHABLE – Slow into stride.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
HAUNTED HOUSE – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SOLID ASSET – Raced ungenerously approaching the 500m. Shifted in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
RAINING RICHES – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: HELEN SCHLECHT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 800 metres
 
PETA CALADA – Saddle slipped forward approaching the 400m, putting apprentice jockey Ms. S Stephan at a disadvantage and unable to ride out PETE CALADA to the line.
 
JUST SO FANCY – Fractious in barriers, jumped awkwardly then slow into stride.
 
RASHEED – Raced wide throughout.
 
PEACHIES DREAM – Hung out entering the home straight.
 
LORD RIVERS – Raced wide throughout.
 
RED MONKEY – Raced wide throughout.
 
MORATA – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORKY MAIDEN PLATE 800 metres
 
CLANG’S TATT – Raced wide throughout.
 
WILSON WON – Raced wide throughout.
 
CRUISING BILL – Approaching the 600m shifted in abruptly making heavy contact with the running rail. Jockey C Meehan eased CRUISING BILL out of the race as he reported the horse did not feel comfortable. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
HUSS’N’HARRY – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 4: GRAND HOTEL ESK MAIDEN PLATE 800 metres
 
FOXY FIVE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as had not raced in twelve (12) months and passed to take its place in the race.
 
INALOO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as had not raced in twelve (12) months and passed to take its place in the race. Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
MUSSEL LINES – Jumped awkwardly.
 
ZOOMARATTA – Fractious in the barriers. Jumped awkwardly.
 
MERRON DIVA – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUNIKI – Raced wide throughout. SUNIKI shied passing the winning post, dislodging apprentice Ms E MacPherson. Ms. E MacPherson was examined by QAS and was able to take her remaining race rides.
 
Race 5: TATTERSALL’S CLUB BRISBANE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 metres
 
FURNACE ON FIRE – When the gelding was placed under pressure entering the home turn, did not stretch out and finish the race off as expected. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was suffering from thumps. The gelding will require an ECG and vet certificate before starting again.
 
REGAL EYES – Held up approaching the 200m.
 
BLOODBLISTER – Hung out entering the home straight.
 
TERRE DI BACCIO – Raced wide in the back straight. Raced ungenerously approaching the 1000m. Saddle slipped approaching the 900m putting jockey C Jokic and TERRE DI BACCIO at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
 
FLYING KASS – Raced wide for majority of the race.
 
SHINAR – Slow into stride. Forced wider entering the home straight.
 
MOMENTUM GLORY – Slow into stride. Jockey Beau Appo reported the gelding did not travel well in today’s conditions. A subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 6: BACK HERE IN DECEMBER BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 metres
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Raced wide majority of the race, hung out entering the home straight. Trainer K Afford advised the gelding will be going out for a spell after today’s performance.
 
CYCLONE DIVA – Was inclined to hang in over the concluding stages.
 
WHISTLIN’ ARROW – Shifted out over the concluding stages.
 
TAHLAYLA – Jockey Ms C Eaton reported that the mare did not travel well in today’s conditions.
 
OUR BOY BORRIS – Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
Race 7: THE STONEHOUSE RETREAT MUG QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200 metres
 
BARTA LINES – Raced wide in the back straight without cover.
 
BELDEVILE – Raced wide without cover from the 600m to the winning post.
 
HARRYUP – Jumped awkwardly and slow into stride.
 
JONDY ALL SET – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as had not raced in twelve (12) months and passed to take its place in the race.
 
Race 8: ESK IGA CLASS B HANDICAP 1200 metres
 
CIAO BICKY – Raced ungenerously approaching the 800m. Raced wide from the 400m to the winning post.
 
TOP MELODY – Checked shortly after the start when placed in restricted racing room.
 
VERY SOON – Approaching the 1100m mark shifted down contacting WHISTLINDIXIE LAD which was taken inwards on to TOP MELODY resulting in jockey B Newport having to take hold of his mount to avoid heels. After taking evidence from the riders involved, stewards issued a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) to apprentice Ms. S Stephan the rider of VERY SOON. Apprentice Ms. S Stephan was found guilty of the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty was suspended from riding in races for a period of eight (8) days to commence midnight 10/07/22 until midnight 18/07/22. Apprentice Jockey Ms. S Stephan was advised of the right to internal review.
 
WHISTLINDIXIE LAD – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as had not raced in twelve (12) months and passed to take its place in the race. Contacted approaching the 1100m turn it inwards onto TOP MELODY. Raced wide without cover to the 800m.
