Stewards – D Aurisch, O Legg (Cadet).
 
Race 1: JONATHON ROSS MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 800 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed allowing time for the Vet to arrive on course. The race was further delayed when IGBO dislodged it`s rider on route to the barriers and completed two and a half laps of the racetrack before being captured. This race was further delayed when GOLD REVOLUTION became fractious and reared after being loaded into the barriers, making contact with JAIN which was in the barrier to the inside of the gelding. Prior to the start of the event IGBO, GOLD REVOLUTION and JAIN underwent a Veterinary examination to ascertain their fitness to start and it was determined that all three runners would be declared late scratching’s on Vets advise at 11.43am.
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on IGBO, GOLD REVOLUTION and JAIN be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to successful bets:
1st SNEAKY STARTER  43c win, 38c place
2nd THE STORM  38c place
3rd PRINCE OF MARAKESH  38c place
 
HEART OF KINGS – Raced wide throughout.
 
IGBO – On route to the barriers the gelding shied and dislodged Jockey A Spinks. IGBO completed two and a half laps of the racetrack before being captured. After a subsequent Veterinary examination at the barriers, IGBO was declared a late scratching on Vets advise.
 
PRINCE OF MARAKESH – Improved onto the heels of SNEAKY STARTER passing the 600m and had to be steadied.
 
CASH ARTIST – Fractious when leaving the mounting yard. Trainer L Wanless was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding for his prerace manners. Slow to begin. Shifted out across the heels of BETTER PAGE approaching the 100m to obtain clear running and was momentarily steadied when SHOOT THE BOSS laid in under pressure.
 
GOLD REVOLUTION – After being loaded into the barriers GOLD REVOLUTION became fractious and reared. GOLD REVOLUTION became momentarily cast and made contact with JAIN which had been loaded in the barrier to the geldings inside. GOLD REVOLUTION underwent a Veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching on Vets advise. Trainer K Afford was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate before racing again.
 
SHOOT THE BOSS – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JAIN – After being loaded into the barriers GOLD REVOLUTION became fractious and reared making contact with JAIN which was in the barrier to the inside of the gelding. JAIN underwent a Veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching on Vets advise.
 
RED GADGET – Put in an awkward stride passing the 150m.
 
MIKKI KIREINA - Fractious when leaving the mounting yard. Trainer R Cameron was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for her prerace manners. Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: HELEN SCHLECHT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Trainer T Cotsiopoulos and Jockey R Thorburn to view the footage of the home straight. When Trainer Cotsiopoulos, Jockey Thorburn and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.

HUSSON'S REVENGE – Bumped on jumping. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THIEF BY NIGHT – Slow to begin.
 
PRIMARY WITNESS – Slow to begin.
 
MONEY BEAR – Began awkwardly.
 
ROTHERO ESSGEE – Raced wide throughout.
 
DANTE ALIGHIERI – Approaching the 200m was momentarily steadied when attempting to obtain a narrow run to the inside of APPLECROSS.
 
LADY WAIRUA (NZ) – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped HUSSON'S REVENGE.
 
DOTNED – Jumped in the air on jumping.
 
Race 3: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL BM55 HANDICAP 1200 Metres
 
GALEKA – Shifted in away from CHERRY SODA shortly after jumping and bumped SUPER RUPERT.
 
CRAIGLEA LA VIE – Inconvenienced at the start and taken in when SALACIA jumped inwards.
 
CHERRY SODA – Passing the 900m shifted wider to avoid the heels of CRAIGLEA LA VIE.
 
SPEEDY GRACE – Raced wide throughout.
 
WORTHY ESSGEE – Raced wide throughout.
 
HATTUSA – Raced wide throughout. Passing the 100m, shifted out to avoid the heels of WORTHY ESSGEE.
 
AUNTY HAZEL – Hampered on jumping when CRAIGLEA LA VIE was taken inwards by SALACIA.
 
SALACIA – Jumped in at the start and hampered CRAIGLEA LA VIE. Held up for clear running in the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
SUPER RUPERT – Bumped shortly after jumping.

Race 4: HEATH 2 THE HILLS OPEN PLATE 1200 Metres
 
DIGGITY – Shortly after leaving the mounting yard, DIGGITY made contact with a stationary vehicle used to transport officials to their position around the track. On arrival to the barriers the gelding underwent a Veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
OAKFIELD COMANCHE – Laid in passing the 1000m.
 
ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5: BRISBANE VALLEY ROASTERS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. 1200 Metres
 
LE GAGNEUR – Began awkwardly.
 
WHATTA WHITT – Raced in restricted room passing the 1000m when SHINTARO LASS laid out and FLYING TO MARS laid in. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer P Busuttin was advised that the gelding would be stood down from racing pursuant to AR79(4) for 3 months and must trial or gallop 1000m to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to being permitted to race again. Trainer P Busuttin advised Stewards that WHATTA WHITT would be retired from racing.
 
FLYING TO MARS – Laid in passing the 1000m. Raced wide throughout.
 
QICKWIT – Jumped outwards and bumped SHINTARO LASS. Lost the offside front plate in running.
 
BOITUMELO – Jumped in at the start.
 
BRYDELICIOUS – Passing the 1100m, shifted in and away from DINOSPHERE. Raced in restricted room passing the 1000m when SHINTARO LASS laid out and FLYING TO MARS laid in. While over-racing at the 700m, was obliged to steady from the heels of SHINTARO LASS.
 
SHINTARO LASS – Bumped on jumping. Laid out passing the 1000m. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey M Savva pleaded guilty and was reprimanded pursuant to AR197(2) in that she did disobey an order from the starter to present her mount at a closer position in relation to the barriers when the loading process was taking place.
 
SIX OF ONE – Slow to begin.
 
MERRON DARCY – Slow to begin.
 
VALLEY OF OWLS – Slow to begin.
 
DINOSPHERE – Hampered on jumping.
 
FANCY DIAMOND (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: QUINNY'S 79TH LAP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up.1460 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey K Yoshida rider of 2nd placed FITASAFIDDLE to view the footage of the home straight to ascertain if he had grounds to protest against the 1st placedAMONG US (Jockey C Meehan).  When Jockey K Yoshida and Stewards were similarly satisfied, correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers.
 
AMONG US – Jumped out at the start and bumped COCO JEWEL. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
GARTAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISHANI BRAZILIAN – Became fractious in the barriers prior to the start and dislodged Jockey L Miller. Began awkwardly. Trainer L Ross was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate before racing again. After the race Jockey L Miller reported that he was experiencing some pain to his ankle. Jockey Miller was assessed by the on course QAS officers and was diagnosed as showing signs of bruising to the ankle.
 
SHEZABLAST – Inconvenienced at the start and lost ground.
 
FITASAFIDDLE – Inconvenienced at the start and slow into stride. Commenced to over-race approaching the 1200m and improved on to the heels of MISHANI BRAZILIAN and blundered. Jockey K Yoshida was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
KICKS AND GIGGLES – Raced wide throughout.
 
COCO JEWEL – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 7: GRAND HOTEL ESK QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up.1460 Metres
 
COSMIC FLARE – Slow to begin. Momentarily steadied passing the 300m when YONAKA laid in.
 
YONAKA – Jockey M Butler reported that YONAKA was inclined to lay in for the entire event.
 
DOLLY DISCO – Raced wide throughout.
 
DUCHESS MARIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in entering the home straight.
 
TESTA VALOUR – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 8: ESK PHARMACY BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1460 Metres
 
OUTLAW JOSEY WALES – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
WONFORWAZZA – Jockey H Richardson reported that WONFORWAZZA was inclined to lay out for the entire event.
 
SEERESS – Slow to begin.
 
BELLE'S BOY – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages obliging it`s rider to straighten.
 
SHEPPEY – Jockey M Savva reported that SHEPPEY jumped the crossing at the 900m and became unbalanced for a short distance. Shifted in passing the 200m.
 
SEBRING'S ROSE – Began awkwardly.
 
KELLERS SHELTER – Slow to begin. Held up for a run from the 70m and was unable to be fully tested to the line by its rider.
