QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT EWAN AMATEUR TURF CLUB FRIDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER 2017 WEATHER FINEE TRACK RATING FIRM 11 RAIL IN TRUE POSITION OFFICIALSStewards P Lane, A SpenceStarter R ShegogClerk of Scales StewardsJudge B Von WaldVeterinarian Dr G Kenneallyy Swab Attendant Veterinarian GENERALDue to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Racing Queensland Animal Welfare Policy Level 1. Race 1: STOCKYARD CLASS B HANDICAP 800m: INVERNESS EXPRESS Slowly away. Jockey D Simmons reported that the mare was reluctant to stretch out in the firm going. REVERENCE Crossed another runner when not quite clear near the 600m. Jockey F Edwards was advised to ensure that he is clear of runners before shifting ground. TRY BEFORE DUBAI Had to be restrained near the 600m when crossed by another runner. Raced wide for the remainder of the event. SUPER SILENT Commenced to buck leaving the 700m taking no further competitive part in the event. Trainer Ms L McCormack was advised that the gelding would be required to perform two (2) consecutive satisfactory trials prior to being permitted to again start in a race. On returning to scale Jockey G Watson reported that he had injured his shoulder in running and was unable to fulfil his remaining engagements. Jockey Watson was advised a Medical Clearance would be required prior to his next race ride. Replacements were made as per Stewards Summary. Race 2: W. TITLEY & CO / ALLINGHAM FAMILY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 800m: WRONGLY ACCUSED Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. NEED FINANCE - Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. DORIS STAR Hampered by another runner near the 550m. GENERAL CHEVAL Hampered by another runner near the 550m. REVERBERATING Hung out near the 550m hampering other runners. Jockey L Attard eased the mare out of the race at the home turn. Trainer Ms L McCormack was advised that the mare would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to being permitted to again start in a race. Race 3: BLUEWATER RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1000m: DOUBLE FORTUNE Shifted in abruptly soon after the start, despite the efforts of App Ms N Nelson, hampering runners to its inside. PRINCES SIDEREUS Was hampered by another runner, which shifted in soon after the start. KAP IT OFF - Was hampered by another runner, which shifted in soon after the start. DUNNYYS STAR - Was hampered by another runner, which shifted in soon after the start. MUSTANG JACK When questioned as to the seemingly improved performance trainerrs representative Mr P Rowe stated that the gelding had benefited from the significant drop in class of todayys race, and as there was no obvious pace in the race the gelding had been able to take up its favoured position in the lead. Mr Rowe advised that the stable had not supported the gelding in todayys race. Race 4: PURCELL BROTHERS PTY LTD EWAN LADIES BRACELET BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1200m: ROCKETTE ROCKET Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Jockey Ms C Jokic advised that the mare had raced ungenerously due to the kickback and had in her opinion failed to handle todayys track conditions. CRACOW - Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. DONNT TELL PETE - Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Race 5: EWAN MEMORIAL SHIELD BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1600m: MOLONGLE JOY Wide throughout. Jockey Ms B Thomson reported that the mare had failed to handle todayys firm track conditions. MISS MARSEILLE Wide on the home turn. ALL GIRLS ROCK Slowly away. Had to be restrained when awkwardly placed between runners near the 800m. Raced wide on the home turn. I AM BRUSE Had to be restrained when racing in restricted room near the 1200m. SAPODILLA Raced wide throughout. MUNJIZ Slowly away. VEE EIGHT SIXTY Slowly away. Trainer Mr. R Finch was advised that a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to again start in a race.
