Race 1: SIR RUPERT CLARKE MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1000m: SPEEWAH LASS - Was withdrawn at 1.15pm by order of Stewards due to no rider being available. MOSCOW LADY Reluctant to proceed to barriers. Trainer Mr. J Barr was advised a warning would be placed on the marees pre-race manners. Slowly away. IIM A WILD ONE - Bumped with another runner on jumping. HATZ SON Bumped with another runner on jumping. MIGHTY MEERKAT Inclined to hang in in the middle stages. Raced wide throughout. PRINCESS CELESTIA Steadied when crossed by another runner near the 800m. MIAZUMI - Raced wide throughout. Race 2: PURCELL PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000m: SABA LASS Fractious in barrier. Trainerrs Representative Ms. J Doolan was advised a warning would be placed on the marees barrier manners. RAPT IN RUMBA Began awkwardly. EL CAPO Slowly into stride. MINNIE STREET Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Steadied when crossed by another runner near the 800m. VINCE THE PRINCE Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Race 3: ROTARY SUNRISE CLASS B HANDICAP: NEGRONI Slowly into stride. ZEDAHEEL Slowly into stride. Raced wide throughout. App. N Nelson reported that the gelding had been reluctant to stretch out on the firm going and had resented the kickback in running. BE WHY OH Raced 3 wide for the majority. Race 4: GEORGE & LORRAINE COLBRAN QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP: BACKTO SPEC - Was withdrawn at 3.30pm by order of Stewards due to no rider being available. SUNNY CHIEF - Slowly into stride. Had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 300m. STANDFORD Raced wide for the majority. SUPERSTITION - Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: LANDMARK EWAN CUP CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1600m: CHASING LIBERTY Was declared a late withdrawal by Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 4.30pm. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on CHASING LIBERTY be refunded in full and further that all suucessful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of withdrawal be subject to deductions of 21 cents in the dollar win and 22 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket.. No racing incidents.
