GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting:
Race 1 PURPLE HAT – Carl Spry 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 1 BOGAN PRINCESS – Nathan Day 54kg (+1.0kg)
Race 2 BLONDIE’S SECRET – Masayuki Abe 54kg (+1.0kg)
Race 2 TOUGHY ROCKET –Scott Sheargold 54kg (+1.0kg)
Race 3 WISE DRAGON – Graham Kliese 55kg (+0.5kg)
Race 7 MICAWBER – Graham Kliese 55kg (+0.5kg)
Race 8 TEXAS TARGET – Jeffery Felix 55kg (+1.0kg)

Race 1: INCITEC PIVOT QTIS Maiden Plate 1200 metres

BROADWATER – Jumped awkwardly and contacted FESSUP shortly after the start.

FESSUP – Bumped shortly after the start.

PURPLE HAT – Raced wide majority of the race.

TEX'S GIRLS (NZ) – Severely checked at the 600m when BOGAN PRINCESS shifted in abruptly. Apprentice Olivia Kendal was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) using the whip six (6) times prior to the 100m, one (1) more than permitted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations on the near hind.

BOGAN PRINCESS – Shifted in abruptly at the 600m. Severely checking TEX’S GIRLS. On returning to scales Jockey N Day stated the horse raced green and resented the kick back from the track today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer M Preston was advised the horse would have a warning placed on it for its racing manners.

Race 2: ROTARY SUNRISE TOWNSVILLE QTIS Maiden Plate 1200 metres
Late Scratching’s TISAYAC, FREDDY BARBAROSSA @ 1.49pm prior to declaration of correct weight, by order of the stewards. All moneys to be refunded on bets placed prior to 1.49pm. The following deductions on all win and place bets apply 11cents win, 14cents place, 9cents place, 13cents place.

BURNE JONES – Shifted in over the concluding stages when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild lameness in the near foreleg.

GULF OF AQABA – Was inclined to shift in, in the home straight.

STANDOVER MAN – Slow into stride. Jockey F Edwards stated the horse failed to stretch out and handle today’s track.

ON YOUR SKATES – Slow into stride.

BLONDIE'S SECRET – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

TOUGHY ROCKET – Failed to stretch out in the back straight and resented the kick back from the track.

Race 3: NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/EWAN CUP OPEN Ha 1750 metres

BRILLIANT MIND – Laid in over the concluding stages when placed under pressure.

SIR GUNSEN – Raced wide from the 900m.

HUNUA HANK (NZ) – Trainer J Manzelmann was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR106(1) in that the gelding was presented to the Stewards for inspection without blinkers fitted. Raced wide in the early stages.

Race 4: HERBERT HALL HARDWARE BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1750 metres
Weight was delayed as connections of fourth (4th) place OWNED UP wanted to view the photo finish.

PUPPETEER – Jockey A Holt was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) using the whip seven (7) times prior to the 100m, two (2) more than permitted.

JAKAZONE – Steadied off heels approaching the 600m.

PLATINUM DEAL – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.

LET'S RUNAWAY – Raced wide in the early stages before obtaining cover. Raced wide from the 900m.

Race 5: W TITLEY AND CO Class 6 Plate 1300 metres
Late scratching TRAPASSI @ 3.41pm prior to declaration of correct weight, by order of the stewards. All moneys to be refunded on bets placed prior to 3.41pm. The following deductions on all win and place bets apply 0cents win, 1cent place, 1cent place.

THE SNOOPERSTAR – Shifted out and contacted MACIPENKO (GB) approaching the 150m.

TRAPASSI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as become fractious in the tie ups and was cleared to start. Raced wide in the early stages before getting cover in the back straight. Jockey G Kliese was fined $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) using the whip eight (8) times prior to the 100m, three (3) more than permitted.

MACIPENKO (GB) – Had to be steadied at the 150m when THE SNOOPERSTAR shifted out.

Race 6: DGH BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000 metres

ARROGANT HEART – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide majority.

WELL CHARRED – Improved on to heels of ARROGANT approaching the home turn. Held up for clear running till the 100m.

THE LOUT – Laid in shortly after the start. Laid in, in the home straight when placed under pressure.

NORWEGIAN WOOD – Hampered after the start when THE LOUT wanted to lay in. Raced wide majority.

HEROIC KITTY – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Race 7: SIR RUPERT CLARK AND CO EWAN BRACELET OPEN Handicap1200 metres

RAIDEN – Checked shortly after the start. Failed to stretch out throughout the race. On returning to scales Jockey J Felix stated that RAIDEN did not appreciate the firm surface today.

OUR ALICIA'S LANE – Checked shortly after the start. Raced wide majority.

BREAK MY STRIDE – Raced wide majority of the race. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

FOCUS – Broke through the barriers, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Jumped in abruptly after the start making contacting OUR ALICIA’S LANE. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

MISS BULITZ – Raced wide majority of the race.

Race 8: JAYSEL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1300 metres

GAIUS JULIUS – Raced wide majority of the race.

PICTON – Raced wide with cover.

DAWN STRIKE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as was kicked behind the barriers by another runner and was cleared to start.

LISTEN LISTEN – Raced keenly in the middle stages, then improved onto heels approaching the 600m.

REAL EMPRESS – Raced wide majority of the race.

STRATOBEL – Slow to begin. On returning to scales Jockey N Yadi said STRATOBEL did not appreciate the firm surface.

TEXAS TARGET – Raced wide majority of the race.
