QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT RACE CLUB SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER 2022 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD (DIRT) RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr D. Griffiths Stewards – Mr C BrewClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – Mr T McCloskey, Mr T Bowen (Assistant)Veterinarian – Dr D Viero Swab Attendants – Dr D VieroStarter – Mr R Shegog General: Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting: Race 1 PURPLE HAT – F Edwards 56.5kg (+2.0kg) Race 1: PURPLE HAT, which raced at Townsville on 13 October 2022, was inspected by the Club Veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. OUR DISTRICT (J Felix) was slow into stride at the start and raced ungenerously approaching the 600 metres. JEAN LAFITE (P Cullen) jumped awkwardly and raced ungenerously between the 600 metres and 400 metres. MISSION DE QUO (D SMITH) raced wide throughout.Race 2: ARROGANT HEART (P Cullen), which kicked the enclosure fence before leaving the mountingyard was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. ARROGANT HEART (P CULLEN) and TACTICAL ILLUSION (D SMITH) both raced wide throughout the event. TACTICAL ILLUSION (D SMITH) shifted out under pressure over the final 100 metres. HEISWOODY (J Felix), which raced wide and failed to stretch out, was inspected by the Club Veterinary Surgeon, who found no abnormalities. Jockey J Felix reported that the gelding was resenting the sand from runners in front being thrown back and at no stage racedtractably. Stewards advised Trainer A Cameron that HEISWOODY will not be permitted to start ondirt tracks in future. Race 3: TEMPO (F Edwards) jumped awkwardly. MAGNATE (J Felix) raced wide throughout. Rider F Edwards (TEMPO) was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking the gelding 21 times which is six more times than is permitted. Jockey Edwards’s licence to ride in races was suspended for seven days to commence midnight on 15 October 2022 and expiring on 22 October 2022. Race 4: READY MISTER MUSIC (D Smith) was slow to jump. KEIGHLEY SUN (G Kliese), ILLECEBROUS (P CULLEN) and COMBATTANT DE RUE (B Thomson) all raced wide throughout the event. Jockey J Felix (SHOOTING FOR KATE) reported that the mare failed to handle the dirt track. Race 5: JAKAZONE (G Kliese) was slow to begin. KEEP ON LOVING YOU (J Felix) threw an offside hind plate at approximately the 1000m.
