Stewards considered an objection lodged by Apprentice G Semmens, the rider of 5th placegetter BELLEVITA, against 4th placegetter MACIPENKO (Apprentice I Teh) on the grounds of alleged interference at the 600 metres. It was established that MACIPENKO (Apprentice I Teh) did momentarily shift in marginally at that point tightening the running of BELLEVITA which lost some ground. The stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered by BELLEVITA exceeded the short neck margin between the two horses at the finish and therefore they upheld the objection and amended the placings to read:-1st – RED BOOMSHAKALAKA2nd-- CUDYADO3rd - POMADE4th – BELLEVITA5th -- MACIPENKOCUDYADO – Brushed the running rail at the 400 metres.
