GENERAL
 
1.    A veterinary clearance was received for FLY WITH YOU engaged in Race 2.
2.    All riders were subject to a breath analysis test upon their arrival on course.
3.    After initially arriving in the jockey’s room, Jockey N. Day left the course without stewards’ permission and without providing reasoning, failing to fulfil his riding engagements. Jockey Day has been stood-down pending a Stewards inquiry regarding the matter and his riding engagements were as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1. A. Thomson +1.0kg
Race 5. G. Kliese +1.0kg
Race 5. S. Sheargold +1.0kg
 
 
Race 1: MOBBSMARR LEGAL/NQ DRY TROPICS MAIDEN PLATE 820m
 
JOURNO – Laid in over the concluding stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
BLAZING BONNIE – Slow into stride. Went wide rounding the home turn. On returning to scale, Jockey P. Romeo reported that BLAZING BONNIE raced greenly for the majority of the event.
 
CHILLI CREAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having not raced for an extended period and was cleared to race. Shifted in on jumping hampering FAITH OVER FEAR.
 
COOL STORY – Raced wide throughout.
 
DYNA POWER – Jockey N. Day was replaced by Jockey J. Edwards as no other senior rider was available. Trainer B. Williams was fined $100.00 for presenting his horse to race with incorrect gear pursuant to AR 106(1).
 
FAITH OVER FEAR – Hampered on jumping by CHILLI CREAM.
 
GETTIN’ LIPPY – When being eased down after the finish of the event, took fright and broke through the outside running rail dislodging jockey F. Edwards, who was attended to immediately by QAS Staff. Jockey Edwards sustained a right shoulder injury and was transferred to hospital for further observations. Jockey F. Edwards will require a medical clearance prior to riding again.
 
Following the running of Race 1, Jockey A. Thomson rider of FAITH OVER FEAR was fined $200 pursuant to AR 185 for changing her equipment after weighing out.
 
Race 2: LAMBERTS PRODUCE/SAPE INDUSTRIES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 820m
 
The 2nd race was delayed due to the fall in Race 1 with a new starting time of 2:40pm. QAS left the course to transport jockey F. Edwards to Hospital.
 
MAZZERATTI – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a bruised right eye.
 
MIDAS STAR – Raced wide throughout.
 
NO LOVE LOST – Bounded on jumping. Momentarily crowded for room rounding the 700-metre turn. Resented the kickback in the middle stages.
 
FLY WITH YOU – Blundered badly on jumping almost dislodging rider C. Jokic. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
NANO STAR – As Jockey F. Edwards was indisposed, he was replaced by apprentice Jockey T. Leslight.
 
AUTUMN BLOOM – Checked at the start and lost ground.
 
SHEEZ MARVELLOUS – Raced wide throughout.

CHALKLEY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off side fore leg.
 
Race 3: ALLIGNHAM FAMILY/KNUTH CONTRACTING & ELECTRICAL QTIS CLASS 5 Handicap 1000m
 
THATFEELSBETTER - As Jockey F. Edwards was injured, he was replaced by Jockey C. Jokic
 
NAZORIAN – Slow into stride.  Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
NEVETON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the right-hind fetlock consistent to that of speedy cuts.
 
Race 4: NORTHERN AIR CONDITIONING/AU CONTRACTING BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1200m
 
IRRESISTIBLE FORCE – As Jockey F. Edwards was injured, he was replaced by Jockey P. Romeo. Raced wide throughout.
 
CUT MY GRASS – Slow into stride.
 
EXCITE CHOO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up when rounding the home turn, before shifting out sharply across heels to gain clear running passing the 175 metres.
 
DENIMS – Raced wide throughout.
 
INNER SPIRIT – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MISHANI AVIATOR – Raced wide throughout.
 
VEE EIGHT POWER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: AZKEEN INDUSTRIES/PURCELL PLUMBING OPEN Handicap 1300m
 
CONSTANT FLIGHT – When questioned regarding the amount of vigour shown to CONSTANT FLIGHT over the concluding stages, apprentice Jockey L. Guernier stated that the gelding was hanging in over the final 250 metres and this limited her ability to urge the horse forward vigorously.
 
SIR ROCKET – As Jockey F. Edwards was injured, he was replaced by Jockey A. Butler.
 
SAVVY SOVEREIGN – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: CLARITY HEARING IN THE MEMORY OF JOHN BARR CLASS 4 Handicap 1600m
 
SIR MAXIMUS – Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THE SHERPA – As Jockey F. Edwards was injured, he was replaced by Jockey G. Kliese. Bounded on jumping.
 
HEARSAY – Bounded on jumping.
 
LADY MASQUERADE – When questioned on the poor performance of LADY MASQUERADE, Jockey C. Jokic stated that the track conditions did not suit the mare today and that she was under pressure from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T Williams was advised not to start LADY MASQUERADE until satisfied it would perform competitively.
