LOCKYER RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT FRI.18.10.02

STEWARDS PANEL: Mr J. Hackett (Chairman), Mr C. McLune, Mr W. Birch, Mr D. Collingwood.

WEATHER - FINE TRACK - GOOD


RACE 1: JOHN POTTER/THE BIG ORANGE H'CAP - 860M.

MIKEY'S RUBY and OLD HARLEQUIN were slow to begin.

ILSOBAR jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 600m., MAIDEN'S BLUSH was momentarily tightened between ILSOBAR, which was inclined to hang in, and MAIDEN BREEZE, which when racing ungenerously, hung out. OLD HARLEQUIN, which was racing to the inside of MAIDEN BREEZE, had to be steadied to avoid heels at this stage.

Shortly after this incident, SINGING CLOUD, which was racing in restricted room inside OLD HARLEQUIN, became unbalanced and raced ungenerously.

ILSOBAR continued to race greenly and hung in over the concluding stages, placing D. Green at a disadvantage in fully testing his mount.


RACE 2: DAVE PERSHOUSE PRODUCE H'CAP - 1600M.

Trainer S. Andrew was fined $50 for notifying M. Tracey was the rider of SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE after the jockey declaration deadline.

Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer R. Dawson following A. Kennedy being notified late as the rider of MILATTA.

ANNES JOY blundered on jumping away.

Near the finishing line, BLENHAM ELECT shifted out when under pressure and made contact with BLAZING SHARI.


RACE 3: CUMMING PRODUCE H'CAP - 1100M.

As C. Reith was indisposed, he was replaced on PRIDE OF WESTERN by K. Bell.

PRIDE OF WESTON and EXTREME RED were slow to jump.

After travelling a short distance, SPUD commenced to hang out and the horse continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. As a consequence of SPUD hanging approaching the home turn, EXTREME RED was able to obtain a run to that horse's inside. On straightening, SPUD shifted out and had to be eased away from the hind quarters of FLYING ON.

PRIDE OF WESTON was inclined to hang out throughout running.



RACE 4: S & L PRODUCE H'CAP - 1100M.

WILLO ROSE was slow to begin.


RACE 5: ALFRED E CHAVE H'CAP - 1400M.

SAHARA COVET shifted in at the start and brushed KINGCIDON.


RACE 6: PURA MILK CUP - 1400M.

OUTRANK jumped inwards at the start and hampered BIG TIME DANCER, which was a little slow to jump.

Rounding the first turn, ALL NATIVE got its head up and raced ungenerously when being restrained off the heels of NICTOM.


RACE 7: MARENDY & SONS H'CAP - 1400M.

CARBONNE jumped away awkwardly.

DANEHILL QUEEN and ASSENTING were slow to begin.

Approaching the 1000m., RECEIVED was tightened for room between JUDICIAL REPORT and CUDDLIN' when both horses shifted ground slightly. As a result of being tightened, RECEIVED shifted on the track.

ROYAL SUCCESSOR got its head up and was inclined to overrace rounding the first turn.

CARBONNE was cramped for room when racing inside of JUDICIAL REPORT, which was inclined to shift in under pressure near the 600m.. In this incident, GOLD AMBER had to be eased away from the heels of JUDICIAL REPORT.

R. Kerwin, rider of ASSENTING, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of ROYAL SUCCESSOR near the 200m., resulting in that horse being checked and taken out on to HONKY TONK WOMAN. R. Kerwin was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 20 October, and to expire at midnight, 30 October 2002.

RACE 8: M & D VEGEGETABLE SPECIALISTS PTY LTD H'CAP - 860M.

PERSION CHARM and MISTER SQUEALER were slow to begin.
