Start times were amended due to the postponement of Coffs Harbour thoroughbreds to read:  Race 1 – 1.12 pm, Race 2 – 1.50 pm, Race 3 – 2.23 pm, Race 4 – 303 pm,  Race 5 – 3.42 pm,  Race 6 – 4.22 pm, 
Race 7 – 4.55 pm
 
Race 1: Lockyer Farm Machinery Class 3 Plate - 860m
 
BRILLIANT DIVA – Declared a late scratching at 8.59 am due to transport difficulties.
 
TOO QUICK FOR YOU – When questioned regarding the performance, which was below market expectations, jockey M. Hellyer stated that the performance was somewhat disappointing however, noted that the mare was first up and would take a fitness benefit from today’s run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from heat stress.
 
WHISPERING WINGS – Slow to begin.
 
POETIC DRAGON – Slow to begin.
 
WHATEVER MISS – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
GOT NEWS FOR YOU – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
GO GET SUM – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 2:  Oz Lav Plumbing QTIS 3yo BenchMark 60 H'cap – 1400m
 
CONGELATOR – Raced wide throughout and was forced wider near the 1100m.
 
 
Race 3: Gatton Cup June 11 Class 2 H'cap – 1600m
 
DUBLEO’S LAD – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late scratching at 10.35 am.
 
BREN’S BOY – Stewards acceded to a request from trainer A. Barnes to remove the pacifiers due to the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination  of the gelding, which commenced to weaken from the 700m, and which was eventually eased out of the event near the 400m, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
MR OPORTUNIST – Hampered at the start.
 
ANSWERED – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  
 
 
Race 4: McNeil Farms Maiden H'cap – 1400m
 
SAN ANDREAS – Stewards acceded to a request from connections to remove the pacifiers due to the heavy conditions.  Raced 3 deep without cover for the majority of the event.
 
GIFTOFLIFE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  When questioned regarding the performance, jockey S. Bogenhuber  stated that after missing the start she settled further back in the field than anticipated, however despite this travelled well until a point near the 400m when the mare failed to quicken as expected and, in her opinion, failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
 
CELTIC MIST – Began awkwardly.  Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DE LA LAD – Raced wide throughout.  
 
 
Race 5: Hughes Sand & Gravel Class 4 H'cap – 1100m
 
SNUGGLE POT – Steadied from heels near the 900 when LA DOICE VITA shifted in. Apprentice B. Nothdurft was issued with a reprimand and advised to allow greater clearance in future.
 
 
Race 6:  Wilson Bros Finance BenchMark 58 H'cap – 1400m
 
DON’TCRYARGENTINA – Raced wide throughout the event.
 

IBELIEVEICANFLY – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, apprentice H. English explained that the mare failed to respond when placed under pressure near the 500m and attributed this to the prevailing track conditions.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from mild heat stress.
 
STROMBO – Stewards reminded Apprentice B. Ainsworth of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the end of the race.
 
 
Race 7:  Lockyer Produce BenchMark 58 H'cap – 1100m
 
JAI’S LUCK – Tightened for room shortly after the start and then had to be checked and lost ground.
 
TIN’S POCKET – Began awkwardly.
 
RALPH THE DRAGON – Bumped heavily at the start and a short distance later had to be checked when severely tightened for room.
 
GEILEIS – Hampered at the start and was then checked shortly after.
 
Jockey W. O’Connell, rider of MAN OVERBOARD, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that shortly after the start he allowed his mount to shift in under pressure when insufficiently clear of RALPH THE DRAGON, which was severely tightened for room and forced in, resulting in JAI’S LUCK also being tightened for room and having to be checked.  Jockey W. O’Connell’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 25 March and to expire at midnight, 5 April 2017.
