Race 1: COUGHLINS ACCOUNTANTS QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1100M
 
The start of this race was initially delayed when the saddle on INCHING CLOSER had to be refitted upon arriving at the barriers. 
 
The start was further delayed when GALACTIC GODDESS, which made contact with the outside fence behind the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
I AM COURAGE – Hung out throughout. Raced 3 wide leaving the 800m.
 
LE PALMIER – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
GALACTIC GODDESS – Stood flat-footed at the start, and lost some ground on jumping away.
 
CREENA – Jumped inwards at the start and made contact with the barrier partition. Laid in in the home straight.
 
SPINNING SPIRIT – Stewards permitted the late scratching of the filly at 8.52am due to personal reasons.
 
Race 2: GRANTHAM FARMWORKERS LODGE/QM PROPERTIES CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M
 
FLAME OF LIBERTY – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
RED WEDDING – Bounded on jumping away. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
STARCASTER – Shifted wider on the track leaving the 400m. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
ORIENTAL RULER – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room and had to be steadied approaching the 800m, and then a short distance later hung out across the heels of RELATIVE DIRECTION.
 
RELATIVE DIRECTION – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: LOCKYER VALLEY WASTE MANAGEMENT/GATTON STAR CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1100M
 
The start of this race was delayed when BINDABOOBERRI, which reared and hit its head in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
GALIANNO HOT SHOT – Knuckled on jumping away. Shifted out abruptly near the 200m.
 
BINDABOOBERRI – Shifted in abruptly and bumped the running rail approaching the 800m.
 
BOSS’S BOY – Held up from the 400m until entering the home straight.
 
SUPER FREAK – Raced 3 wide without cover until the 500m.
 
GLITTER TOP – Raced with its head in the air approaching the 800m.
 
CYCLONE KAYCEE – Shifted out on jumping away and made contact with the barrier partition.
 
POP ‘N’ ZAC – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
Race 4: WILSON BROTHERS FINANCE/BLUE DOGS SPORTS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the starter, Mr. R. Hanson, was kicked by POTAWATOMI behind the barriers. A warning was placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Mr. Hanson was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and was able to fulfil his duties.
 
PEBKAC – Made contact with the running rail near the 1300m. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
OSMOND – Bumped near the 900m.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
SPICE TRADER – Tightened for room on jumping away and then clipped heels and blundered. Raced wide throughout. Lost the near fore plate in running.
 
POTAWATOMI – Steadied from heels near the 900m.
 
CLASSIC PEARL – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 1100m when COONOWRIN SILKY (App. B. Nothdurft) shifted in. Apprentice Nothdurft was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
FILLYSOPHYCAL – When questioned by Stewards regarding the seemingly improved performance, the stable representative for Anderson Heathcote Racing advised that the filly had been slow to mature, however it had shown improvement during in its current preparation. She added that, in her opinion, the filly is better suited in races over greater distances than its previous race start. Stewards noted the explanation.   
 
HARD ENOUGH – Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
TEN LARGE – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider, and was passed fit to start. Raced 3 wide throughout.
 
COONOWRIN SILKY – Steadied from heels near the 400m.
 
Race 5: OZLAV PLUMBING CLASS 3 PLATE – 1600M
 
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SHADOW EMPIRE – Bumped on jumping away. Jockey C. Eaton was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey Eaton’s prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
TACTICAL MANUEVER – Raced 3 wide leaving the 800m.
 
FLYING SEBA – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped SHADOW EMPIRE.
 
Race 6: ROYAL HOTEL GATTON LOCKYER LIGHTNING OPEN H’CAP – 860M
 
The start of this race was delayed when INCISION underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of its rider, and was passed fit to start.
 
NATIONAL TRAIL – Heavily bumped by BIG TREE shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Momentarily held up approaching the home turn.
 
BIG TREE – Bumped at the start.
 
VICEMAN – Began awkwardly and bumped BIG TREE which shifted out and heavily bumped NATIONAL TRAIL.
 
BIG BRITCHES – Slow to begin.
 
STORM ANCHOR – Raced wide throughout.  
 
Race 7: 2019 TAB GATTON CUP BENCHMARK 70 H’CAP – 2000M
 
BENICO’S PRINCE – Slow to begin. Bumped when passing the winning post on the first occasion.
 
ROMAKASH – Raced keenly when approaching the winning post on the first occasion, and shifted in of its own accord tightening I’M FAVULOUS. Raced ungenerously in the early stages and raced wide throughout. Hung in throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no significant findings.
 
WENDOUREE RED – Raced 3 wide for the majority.
 
I’M FAVULOUS – Tightened for room and had to be steadied when approaching the winning post on the first occasion.
 
Race 8: BOWE’S ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1400M
 
STORMY GREY – Stewards permitted the late scratching of the gelding at 8.52am due to personal reasons.
 
LIMBO STAR – Raced wide throughout. Forced wider on the track near the 450m. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Jockey P. Hamblin was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey Hamblin’s prior good record in relation to this rule.
 
COONOWRIN RUBY – Forced wider on the track near the 450m.
 
DEVILLAIN – Slow to begin.
