Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards considered an objection lodged by App. E McPherson the rider of WORLD CHARMER (fourth place) against TINY TEE (App M Kennedy) being declared the third placing on the grounds of alleged interference near the 150m. After taking evidence from all parties and reviewing the patrol footage, it was established that near the 150m WORLD CHARMER obtained a run to the inside of TINY TEE before being tightened when that runner shifted in and as a result lost its rightful running. As a consequence, WORLD CHARMER lost further ground when forced to shift to the outside of TINY TEE to secure clear running. As Stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered to WORLD CHARMER exceeded the margin between the two horses at the finish, therefore upheld the objection and amended the placings accordingly.

At a subsequent inquiry App. M Kennedy (TINY TEE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) for causing interference to WORLD CHARMER at that point of the race. App Kennedy’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days to commence at midnight 25 October 2020 and to expire at midnight 2 November 2020.
