Race 1: KLUCK FARMS Maiden Plate 860 metres

ADOUR ROCKET – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground. Near the 400 metres and again near the 200 metres shifted in and contacted the running rail.

HIDDEN SPRING – Apprentice J Molloy reported his saddle shifted forward placing him at a disadvantage throughout. Bumped rounding the home turn. Raced three wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of HIDDEN SPRINGS revealed no abnormalities.

LINE UP GIRLS – Began awkwardly. Near the 150 metres steadied after improving onto the heels of BETTER IN THAN OUT.

ORDERS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Bumped at the start and lost ground.

WHITSUNDAY LAD – Hung out rounding the home-turn and bumped HIDDEN SPRINGS. A post-race veterinary examination of WHITSUNDAY LAD revealed heat stress.

COOL ESPRESSO – As R Payne was to be over-weight, Stewards permitted K Yoshida to ride the filly. R Payne was reprimanded under AR190(3). Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SASANQUAS – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ORDERS. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

STARS 'N' RICHES – Raced three wide with cover throughout.


Race 2: TAB Maiden Plate 1100 metres

DOCTOR TEEKAY – Raced wide for majority with cover.

LITTLE ALBERT – Fractious behind the barriers and contacted inside running rail. Underwent veterinary examination and cleared to start. Held up rounding the home turn. Hung in under pressure over concluding stages.

CANNY CAT – Inconvenienced shortly after the start and had to steadied. Steadied away from the heels of ELKA ELEWVEN over the concluding stages.

GRACIOUS KNIGHT – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout without cover.

AMAZENA – On arrival behind the barriers became fractious and as result dislodged rider L Tilley. Underwent veterinary examination and cleared to start. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room and had to be steadied. Steadied away from the heels of KINGSFORD TIGER over the concluding stages. Rider L Tilley reported mare hung out throughout the event.

OUR OPINION – Apprentice A Patis reported mare hung out throughout the event.

ELKA ELEVEN – Hung in under pressure over concluding stages.

KINGSFORD TIGER – Rider G Cartwright reported horse hung out throughout the event.

CHAMPAGNE SALLY – Shortly after the start raced in restricted room and had to be steadied.


Race 3: LOCKYER PRODUCE Maiden Plate 1100 metres

KOBANG – Forced wide shortly after the start and tightened for room. Raced three wide for majority without cover. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Rider J Adams became unbalanced when his saddle shifted near the 100 metres.

MOUNT PADRAO – Steadied when placed in restricted room over the concluding stages.

MY BOY DRAGON – As had not started in a race since December 2018 underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Laid out abruptly shortly after the start. Near the 900 metres had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of EPIC REIGN. Raced three wide for majority of the event.

SIR LOUIE – Slow to begin then a short distance later was tightened for room. Near the 700 metres raced in restricted room and put in an awkward stride. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

GEOSTORM – Forced wide shortly after the start and tightened for room. Raced three wide for majority of the event.

REALLY REALLY GOOD – Slow to begin. Hung in throughout.

EPIC REIGN – Forced wider on the track shortly after the start.

MAGIC BOOM – Forced wide shortly after the start and tightened for room. Raced four wide for majority of the event.

ARCING HARD – Forced wide shortly after the start and tightened for room. Near the 850 metres steadied from the heels of TEMUJIN LASS.


Race 4: RIDING FOR ABBIE BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1100 metres

INDIAN THUNDER – Slow to begin.

BETAJET – Slow to begin.

DREAMTIMER – As had not started in a race since November 2019, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Laid under pressure in the home straight.


Race 5: OZLAV PLUMBING Class 2 Plate 1400 metres

At request of rider INDIAN RANI was examined by veterinary surgeon on arrival at the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:45pm on veterinary advice when found to be lame in the near foreleg. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on INDIAN RANI be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:

1st BOREAS - 5 cents win, 3 cents place
2nd BUZZ BEATER - 9 cents place
3rd PHANTOM COURT - 10 cents place

Trainer J Dixon was advised INDIAN RANI would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. As a result, the start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes.

BUZZER BEATER – Approaching the 100 metres shifted out abruptly under pressure resulting rider L Tilley becoming momentarily unbalanced.

BOREAS – Rider T Brooker was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six (6) occasions prior to the 100 metres.

PHANTOM COURT – Caught wide in the early stages of the event. Rider N Tomizowa was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six (6) occasions prior to the 100 metres.


Race 6: BOWES ELECTRICAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1600 metres

GRATSIE – Slow to begin. Rider J Stanley reported the gelding raced flat today.

IN AGREEMENT – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

TYCOON MCKINNEY – Shifted out to improve from the 800 metres and raced wide from that point. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TERRAJOHNA – Bumped on jumping.

LOVESPEED GIRL – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the mare was readjusted. Slow to begin.


Race 7: VANDERFIELD GATTON BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2000 metres

HALLSIDE FANDANGO – Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped SIR PELLIAS. Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained exiting the home straight on the first occasion. A post-race veterinary examination of HALLSIDE FANDANGO revealed lameness in the near hind leg. Trainer J Edwards was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.

ABERLADY – Hung out exiting the home straight on the first occasion.

MINOR LUCK – Hung out badly exiting home straight on the first occasion and as a result shifted very wide on the track.

SPICERS PEAK – Began awkwardly.

IN YOUR ELEMENT – Apprentice G Cartwright was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven (7) occasions prior to the 100 metres, two more than permitted.

TACTICAL MANUEVER – Fractious in the barriers.

SIR PELLIAS – Bumped at the start. Steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of HALLSIDE FANDANGO near the 500 metres.

BRYBECK – Made the home turn awkwardly.


Race 8: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL ROSEWOOD Class 2 Plate 1100 metres

The start was delayed when REDZEB, THE CARPENTER and MEGASHOT after being loaded into the barriers broke through and were restrained after travelling a short distance, all underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared to start.

EMOTIVE MOUNTAIN – Tightened between runners on jumping.

FA FA – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Steadied from heels near 900 metres.

THE CARPENTER – Began awkwardly.

EXCEED ROCK – Trainer M Currie was fined $100 for the late declaration of rider on the gelding. Tightened for room and checked across heels near 900 metres.

WHISTLIN' ARROW – Raced three wide without cover.

DE VEGA PEACH – Tightened for room and checked near the 900 metres. Apprentice A Patis, rider of MISS BARTY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR 131(a) in that near the 900 metres shifted when not clear of EXCEED ROCK which was tightened for room and taken in resulting in DE VAGA PEACH being checked. The license of A Patis to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 7th February 2021 up to and including midnight 18th February 2021. A post-race veterinary examination of DE VEGA PEACH revealed lacerations to it’s near hind leg. Trainer W Bannerot was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.

MISS BARTY – Bumped on jumping.

MEGASHOT – Raced three wide with cover for the majority.

LADY SELKIE – Tightened near 850 metres when EXCEED ROCK shifted out.


Race 9: JASON DIETE - LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400 metres

RIVER ROCKET – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

FEND OFF – Near the 100 metres laid in under pressure.

URALBA – Began awkwardly.

PATRIOTIC ROSE – As Andrew Spinks was ill, he was replaced as the rider on the mare by H Richardson. Steadied near the 1100 metres when racing in restricted room to the inside of RIVER ROCKET.

RED HANA – Near the 200 metres steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of VASSA BLUE.

DER SIEGER – Raced three wide for majority.

WINERIES – Shifted wider near the 200 metres when awkwardly placed at the heels of JOMERA.
