GENERAL
 
Due to current covid restrictions Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
 
Race 2: WINDPIPE – A Allen 54kg (+1kg)
 
Race 1: SADDLEWORLD TOOWOOMBA Class 4 Handicap 860 metres
 
BETTER RUSH – Tightened approaching the winning post when BIT OF A BEAUTY shifted out and BETTER BE BETTER shifted in.  M Potgieter, rider of BETTER RUSH, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
GLOBAL VENTURE – Jumped out at the start. Rider reported the gelding was inclined to lay in for majority of the event.
 
NEWS DIRECTOR – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
FIRST BID – Slow to muster speed in the early stages of the event.
 
 
Race 2: TAB Maiden Plate 860 metres
 
JUST RAFFERTY – Jumped out at the start.
 
HEDONIE – Raced five wide throughout.
 
NAYTELLRHI BIRD – When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance, Trainer S Essery advised in its previous preparation the horse raced over unsuitable distances and that at its most recent start when first up after a significant spell the stable was not entirely disappointed in its performance when beaten only 3.7 lengths.  Mr Essery added that with the fitness benefit from that run, a forward showing performance was expected today. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
OUTDARE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RED DRESS – Slow to begin.
 
IRISH RAIDER – Checked at the start and lost ground.
 
TUANAKI CREEK – Laid out for majority of the event. Raced four wide throughout.
 
SHOELACE SOUP – Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
WINDPIPE – Made the home turn awkwardly and lost ground. Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
Race 3: MCNEIL FARMS Class 2 Plate 1600 metres
 
HAIL TO THE CHIEF – Inclined to lay in for majority of the event.
 
BABYLON WARRIOR – Tailed off from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed upper respiratory issues. Trainer B Robinson was advised BABYLON WARRIOR would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start and that the horse would be stood down from TAB venues until it establishes form at country venues.
 
INDIAN RANI (NZ) – Raced wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from the 1100 metres.
 
MARTO – Jumped in at the start and lost ground. Raced three wide without cover from the 800 metres.
 
SIENNA'S AWARD – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
The track rating was upgraded to a Soft 5 following the running of this event.
 
Race 4: MEMORIAL RACEDAY FRIDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2021 Class 3 Handicap 1400 metres
 
BROCKY – Jumped in at the start. Hung out momentarily leaving 1000 metres.
 
LOBURN LASS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SISTINE AVENUE – Checked at the start when BROCKY jumped in. Improved into heels near the 1100 metres and had to be steadied.
 
 
Race 5: KLUCK FARMS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
WHITEBAIT PATTIE – Bumped on jumping with REDZEB. Held up rounding and approaching the home turn. A Allen, rider of WHITEBAIT PATTIE, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
REDZEB – Bumped on jumping with WHITEBAIT PATTIE.
 
BULLET RAIDERS – Began awkwardly.
 
COSSIE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. M Savva, rider of COSSIE, was fined $600 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
FOXY RIPPA – Laid out rounding the home turn. Rider G Cartwright could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
PALICKI – Change of tactics – to be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
VON SAGA – Began awkwardly.
 
FORT MYER – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
 
Race 6: HARMAN CONCRETE Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
HARRYUP – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
LEADBURN LION – Slow to begin. Hung in rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride out in the home straight.
 
HIDDEN LILY – Slow to begin. Blundered on pulling up and became awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the off foreleg. Trainer B Robinson was advised HIDDEN LILY would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
HENRY REEF – Slow to begin. Raced three wide from the 800 metres.
 
 
Race 7: BELLEVUE HILL AT AQUIS FARM Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400 metres
 
FLYING MACHINE – Slow to begin.
 
LAUDEYLOU – Raced wide without cover for majority of the event.
 
OCTOBER JOY – Slow to begin.
 
ROZEIRA – Raced wide with cover for majority of the event.
 
STYLISH HABIT – Raced wide for majority of the event.
 
FLICK – Began awkwardly.
 
ENCHANTED REIGN – Slow to begin. Checked near the 200 metres. At a subsequent inquiry in the presence of senior rider R Wiggins, Apprentice S Stephan, rider of FLICK, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 200 metres she made insufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in when under riding resulting in ENCHANTED REIGN being tightened and having to be checked. Apprentice Stephan’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 23rd October up to and including 30th October 2021. In determining penalty stewards took into consideration Apprentice Stephan’s guilty plea and exemplary record.
 
 
Race 8: ROYAL GEORGE HOTEL Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400 metres
 
MIGHTY MOOSE – When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance Trainer B Robinson explained the horse was third up today and was confident of a forward showing performance in todays event.  Stewards noted the explanation.
 
LINCOLN FURY – Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
VLADKING – From the wide draw restrained to a rearward position closer to the rails in the early stages of the event. Shifted in near the 150 metres to obtain clear running.
 
GET ON BOARD – Rider A Fancourt was reminded of her obligations regarding raising her whip above shoulder height.
 
PITTSBURGH PHIL – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
JAYBE HERSCHELLE – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LORD OF THE DREAMZ – As had not started for over 12 months underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.
