SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
Due to the transfer of this meeting from 12.11.2021, Stewards accepted the explanations of all trainers in relation to any late rider notifications.
 
As Jockey S. Bogenhuber was injured and not riding at the meeting, rider replacement’s were made as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Race 1: BILL MCGOVERN & MICK BUGLER MEMORIAL Maiden Handicap 860 metres
 
WATAMOUNTAINVIEW- Raced greenly during the event.
 
READYTOFLASH- After beginning awkwardly, was tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
KEFA- Steadied after improving onto heels leaving the 600m. Laid out rounding the home turn and dipped on entering the home straight.
 
HEY SPARKY- Raced greenly during the event.
 
EMMY REGINA- Laid out during the middle stages and then laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
HURRY HOME- When attempting to shift wider to improve leaving the 600m, was disappointed for a run and was eased.
 
FREDDY LIGHTNING - Began awkwardly and shifted in at the start. Laid in for the majority of the event.
 
GRACIEDE - Laid out during the early and middle stages.
 
MAGIC BOOM- Slow into stride.
 
Race 2: WALLY CROSS & JACK BRENNAN MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 860 metres
 
Following the running of Race 1 the track was upgraded retrospectively to include Race 1.
 
SERTIN- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ZEELUCK- Dipped leaving the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DREAM CHANCE- Checked to avoid heels near the 400m.
 
RED DRESS- Laid out during the early and middle stages.
 
NAYTELLRHI BIRD- Blundered of its own accord near the 400m, almost dislodging its rider. A post-race Veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer S Essery will be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for the mare prior to next racing.  
 
CALINDA- Slow into stride.
 
Race 3: ERROL & ROCHELLE BACHMANN / NOEL STAATZ MEMORIAL Maiden Plate 1600 metres
 
Following the running of Race 2, a small amount of remedial work was carried out on a section of track near the 400m. As a consequence, the starting time of race 3, was amended to 2:45pm.
 
COUNTRY LOVE- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 8:21am when Trainer V Heading failed to scratch by the scratching deadline. Trainer V Heading was fined $300.
 
HARRYUP- Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained in the early stages. Raced 3 wide without cover until a point near the 900m.
 
POWER PUNCH (NZ)- Raced wide for the majority. Shifted out under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
RAGING WATER (NZ)-  Slow to begin.
 
SOLVUS- Began awkwardly bumping another runner. Raced 3 wide for the majority.
 
SPIRITUAL- Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ANGELIC ARCHER- Bumped on jumping.
 
ROSE PIN- Attempted to buck in the early stages. Trainer M Nolan will be advised a warning with be issued against the filly. Jockey M Hellyer, could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance of the filly other than it attempting to buck in the early stages, however he added he felt this was only a minor inconvenience to the horses chances in the race.
 
KING GUNNAR- Began awkwardly losing ground.  Tailed off during the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer K Afford, was advised the gelding would now have its nomination refused at TAB venues until such time as it establishes form at Non-Tab venues
 
 
Race 4: CORAL SHIMMING MEMORIAL Class 2 Handicap 2000 metres
 
CANISTER- Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2:07pm after becoming injured enroute to the track.
 
The start time for this event was amended to 3:17pm.
 
INDIAN RANI (NZ)- Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained an abrasion to the off fore leg and to have a poor post-race recovery.
 
CRAIGLEA CLINKERS- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages, and hung off the track exiting the home straight on the first occasion. 
 
STARBUSTER- Clipped heels and fell near the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have sustained multiple abrasions, however no other abnormalities were detected. Stewards, after taking initial evidence from App. J Cornish, adjourned the matter to a time and date to be fixed.
 
YES NO MAYBE SO- Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
HAPPY FRANK- Began awkwardly.  
 
Race 5: JAMES O'DWYER MEMORIAL APPRENTICES CUP RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1400 metres
 
As App. J Cornish was dislodged in the previous event, she was replaced as per the Stewards Summary
 
RUBY RUSH- Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3:45pm after refusing to leave the enclosure to proceed to the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on RUBY RUSH be refunded with the following deductions to apply-
 
1st- 3 cents the win, 3 cents the place
2nd- 3 cents the place
3rd- 2 cents the place
 
Trainer G Barbierato was advised the mare would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
EAST ESPLANADE- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FINGERTIPS- Raced wide without cover from the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPERVISOR- Began awkwardly.
 
CHICA ROSE- Tightened for room at the start. Connections advised the mare choked down during the event and as such, they would add a tongue tie to the horse’s gear for its next start. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
ENTERPRISE ELECTRA- Began awkwardly.
 
SUZY NEEDS LOVIN'- Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: GREG ELLIOT & BILL FAULKNER MEMORIAL Fillies and Mares BENCHMARK 55 Ha 1100 metres
 
COSSIE- Held up momentarily approaching the 400m. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. 
 
ABOVE RESERVE- Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE- Began awkwardly. Hung out during the event. Steadied to avoid heels near the 850m when CYCLONE DIVA shifted in when not completely clear. App. N Fazackerley was advised to exercise more care.
 
RUN THE CUTTER- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
IMPLACABLE- Hung out for the majority of the event.
 
AMOUR VOLE- Made the home turn extremely wide.
 
DREAMALINA- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
 
Race 7: HEC FREEMAN MEMORIAL Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1100 metres
 
 
SHOTGUN SONNY- Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority.
 
ZAIDIN- Laid in during the middle stages.
 
I'M JACKO- Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels rounding the home turn. Laid in during the home straight and as a result was reluctant to shift to the outside of the heels of KESSEL RUN to improve for the remainder of the event.  
 
HEART OF KINGS- Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
KESSEL RUN- Tightened for room approaching the finish line when I’M JACKO was taken in by SCARE CAMPAIN. Which was also taken in by, GOSSIAUX which was taken in by ZAIDEN which laid in under pressure which being ridden along when not completely clear. B Ainsworth the rider of ZAIDIN was reprimanded as a result of this incident for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in.
 
AURORA CHARM- Slow to begin.
