QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT LOCKYER VALLEY TURF CLUB GATTON – THURSDAY 10th FEBRUARY 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 3 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – R Hitchiner, P Jenkins, P KennedyClerk of Scales – C SimpsonJudge – S FaheyVeterinarian – Dr S FlynnSwab Attendants – A ChallanStarter – K Watson GENERAL Stewards permitted the following overweights: Race 1- M Schrapel +0.5kgRace 9- M Hellyer +1kg Jockey M Schrapel was reprimanded under the provisions of AR232 for failing to follow the direction to notify of his intention to ride overweight by the directed time. Race 1: LAIDLEY CUP EASTER SATURDAY 16th APRIL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m TAUCITY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. MOMEMORY- Difficult to load. Trainer G Cornish was advised a warning will be placed on the mares barrier manners. HE’S VIRAL- Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to layout rounding the 1300m. DIWALI LIGHTS- Difficult to load. Trainer A Campton was advised a warning will be placed on the geldings barrier manners. Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running, shifted in passing the 200m hampering another runner. Jockey Harrison was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. IZARA’S DREAM- Slow to begin. UNSUSPECTED- Bumped with another runner on jumping becoming awkwardly placed on heels soon after. Bumped with another runner passing the winning post. SENNACHIE- bumped with another runner on jumping. CASHOFFA- Obliged to shift out and around heels passing the 200m. Improved onto heels under riding approaching the winning post, shifted out and hampered another runner. Jockey B Ainsworth was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. HYPERION ANGEL- Momentarily hampered passing the 200m when a runner to the outside shifted in. Race 2: TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE MAIDEN HANICAP 1400m MA DUSHKA- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late scratching of the gelding. MEXICAN STAR- Began awkwardly. Bumped the inside running rail passing the 1300m. Hampered passing the 1100m when a runner to the outside shifted in. Stewards questioned App Castle regarding the tactics adopted on the mare as to whether there had been opportunity to settle in a more positive position by allowing her mount to stride forward in the earlier stages of the event. App Castle advised that her instructions had been to be positive from the barrier but after beginning fairly she believed the pace to be fast and elected to attempt to settle her mount in a midfield position with cover. Stewards noted App Castles comments. MARISSA- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay in leaving the 1100m hampering another runner. MOVE BY- Bumped with another runner on jumping. SOLVUS- Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. TRUTH OR DARE- Trailed the field throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer N Petersen advised that it would be his intention to seek further veterinary advise concerning the gelding in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of any findings. Nonetheless, Mr Petersen was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings competitiveness. INFINITE JOY- Raced wide for the majority. Commenced to lose ground from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils in running. As this was the first such occurrence Trainer G Richardson was advised the mare would be barred from racing for three months and be subject to a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Additionally, the mare was found to have cardiac arrythmia, Mr Richardson was advised the results of an ECG would need to be provided to Stewards prior to the mare again being permitted to start in a race. Race 3: NOLANS TRANSPORT QTIS 3yo MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m CLOUDY MISS- Slow into stride before bumping heavily with another runner and becoming unbalanced. Approaching the winning post was taken wider by another runner and became awkwardly placed on heels having to be steadied. HALLSIDE WILDTHING- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to layout under pressure approaching the winning post taking another runner wider. App J Cornish was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. CLADIUS- Began awkwardly and shifted out. Inclined to lay out passing the 1100m. SANDGATE ROAD- Raced wide in the early stages. CHOSEN DISTANCE- Whilst laying out became awkward in its action passing the 1100m and faltered momentarily. Laid out passing the 300m taking runners to its outside wider. Trainer M Kropp was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. CRAIGLEA BANDIT- Inclined to race ungenerously down the back straight. Taken wider passing the 300m and made the home turn wide as a result. Raced wide for the majority. OMBRE VOLANTE- Raced wide passing the 1100m. SHALUNA- Taken wider from the 300m and raced wide rounding the home turn as a result. HUSS’N’HARRY- Commenced to tire from the 600m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer M Palmer was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings competitiveness. Race 4: MCNEIL FARMS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m I AM JIMMY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 1:46pm when found to be lame behind. All monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deduction applicable to successful wagers placed prior to 1:46pm: 4 cents in in the dollar for the win5 cents in the dollar for the place on the winner4 cents for 2nd place6 cents for 3rd place Trainer M Park was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race. ABSOLUTE CHARMER- Marginally slow on jumping before being hampered. Taken wider by another runner rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority. PRECIOUS DIAMOND- Shifted in and bumped with another runner on jumping. WATCHKEEPING- Shifted out and bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to race keenly in the early stages. OUR SHANIA- Inclined to lay out passing the 800m. SUMMER STAR- Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Dipped on entering the home straight. FLAMING VICTORY- Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: PORTERS PLAINLAND HOTEL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m CONSECRATED- As Jockey L Tilly was unable to satisfy the allocated weight Stewards permitted Jockey T Harrison to be substituted as rider of the mare. Jockey Tilley was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3). HOOFPRINT- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until a point near the 200m whereupon shifting to the inside of THE GROUSE (App Z Lloyd) and commencing to improve, THE GROUSE shifted in around the heels of PUBLICAN’S PURSE (T Brooker), which had simultaneously commenced to lay in under pressure, subsequently THE GROUSE shifted in farther than intended by its rider placing HOOFPRINT in restricted room along the inside running rail. As culpability could not be attributed to any one rider the incident was noted by Stewards as a racing incident. Nonetheless, App Z Lloyd was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. RHAPALONG- Inclined to race keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. WINNING DEAL- Bumped by another runner which was racing greenly on entering the home straight and became unbalanced. Raced wide for the majority. PUBLICAN’S PURSE- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted in passing the 1000m crowding runners to its inside before being quickly corrected by its rider. Jockey T Brooker was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running. EYE WANTED- Crowded approaching the 1000m. NOTION SENSOR- Slow to begin. FEE- Raced greenly between runner when entering the home straight, shifted in and bumped another runner becoming unbalanced. NUNCAN RUN- Raced wide for the majority. TOKYO FRIENDS- Crowded approaching the 1000m. Disappointed for a run on entering the home straight. THE GROUSE- Crowded approaching the 1000m. Soon after shifting in around heels approaching the 200m App Z Lloyd lost his nearside rein placing him at a disadvantage from that point. Race 6: PORTERS PLAINLAND HOTEL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m SQUIRREL HUNTER- Inclined to race keenly periodically throughout. VAST KAMA- Raced wide for the majority. I’LL TELL YOU NOW- Passing the 350m contacted the inside running rail and became unbalanced. Laid out rounding the home turn hampering another runner. BAILARIN- Slow to begin. EXPENSIVE TO KEEP- Hampered on rounding the home turn. Race 7: KLUCK FARMS CLASS 2 PLATE 1100m BRUTUS- Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. MASTER BAYLEE- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Became awkwardly placed on heels leaving the 1000m. I’M JACKO- Raced wide for the majority. REACHFOR THE STARS- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running. MR VISTA- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. I’M STILL STANDING- Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running until corrected by its rider passing the 100m. DREAM WEAVING- Bumped with another runner on jumping before bumping with further runner again soon after. Became awkwardly placed on heels leaving the 1000m. FIGHTING MAD- Slow to begin. Race 8: AGRICULTURAL REQUIREMENTS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 2000m BROCSON- Raced wide from the 900m. BURY ROAD- Began awkwardly and shifted out. Inclined to race keenly for some distance the 1700m. Shifted wider passing the 1000m to improve obtaining a position outside the leader approaching the 700m ROC DE CAVI- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. TYCOON PLAYER- As Jockey S Fawke was unwell Stewards permitted Jockey N Thomas to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey S Fawke was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride in races. After being caught in a wide position made a forward move passing the 1700m obtaining a position outside the leader near the 1400m. BUDDYS TALE- Began awkwardly. SOMEBODY STOP ME- Slow into stride before becoming awkwardly placed on heels on jumping. Race 9: QN HOTEL LAIDLEY NEMCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400m ABB ROY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. BOBBY AXELROD- Began awkwardly. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have lost its near side front plate in running. TONY’S DECREE- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted in and around the heels of another runner over the concluding stages. BEAUCHAMP- Inclined to lay in on entering the home straight and became awkwardly placed on the heels of another runner which shifted out to improve. Raced wide for the majority. Performed below market expectations. Jockey S Collett stated that her mount had raced flat today further suggesting that, in her opinion, the gelding had come to the end of its preparation. DULCIE TIE- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with another runner. Shifted out at the top of the home straight hampering another runner. App Z Lloyd was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. RESET’S SON- Began awkwardly before being slow into stride. VLADKING- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Approaching the 100m shifted in under pressure crowding a runner to its inside before being corrected by its rider. Shifted in again approaching the winning post having to be corrected by its rider and was unable to be ridden out fully. Trainer K Jones was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. Race 10: LOCKYER PRODUCE CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1600m TRY TO BE GOOD- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay out rounding the 1100m taking another runner wider. EIGHTYTHREE BRICKS- As App J Molloy was unable to satisfy the allocated weight Stewards permitted App Z Sprie to be substituted as rider of the gelding. App Molloy was subsequently fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR190(3). SHOTGUN BOBBY- Inclined to race keenly approaching the 1100m before laying out rounding the 1100m turn. Disappointed for a run approaching the 100m. ENJOY THE SHOW- As Jockey L Tilly was unable to fulfil his engagement Stewards permitted Jockey G Cartwright to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey L Tilly was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to again being permitted to ride in races. Inclined to lay out rounding the 1100m turn. CAPTAIN RIDDLE- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay out rounding the 1100m turn. MANDALONG NERO- Inclined to race keenly in the early stages. ROMANCE FACTOR- Began awkwardly. MAJESTIC RAPTURE- Began awkwardly. YOUNG CLIFFY- Awkwardly placed on heels for some distance down the home straight before shifting in approaching the 100m. YES NO MAYBE SO- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
