QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT LOCKYER VALLEY TURF CLUB GATTON – THURSDAY 20 OCTOBER 2022 WEATHER – Overcast/Showery TRACK RATING – Heavy 8 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R. Taylor was unable to attend due to transport difficulties, stewards permitted rider changes as per the summary sheet. Stewards issued the following penalties to trainers for failing to meet their obligations under the relevant rules at today’s meeting: Race 5 - Trainer T. Potter was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider for PETRALIA by the prescribed time. Race 6 – Trainer M. Kropp was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider for DELANEY’S GIRL by the prescribed time. Trainer L. Hatch was fined $300 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare riders for SECRET KING and BLACK WHITTO by the prescribed time. Trainer L Hatch was reprimanded pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch BLACK WHITTO, which was a dual acceptor at this meeting, by the prescribed time. Race 1: TAB - DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP Maiden Handicap 860 metres Prior to the horse leaving the enclosure rider M. Wishart was struck in the face by her mount RAZAMAGAZZ and was declared a late scratching at 1:04pm after rider M. Wishart was declared unfit to fulfill her remaining engagements by QAS officials. Rider M. Wishart was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to riding again. Upon declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on RAZAMAGAZZ be refunded with the following deductions to apply: 1st BEITSOO - 5c win, 13c place.2nd TALANTINO - 7c place.3rd RHAPALONG – 5c place. SPOOKY SPECTRE – Slow to begin. RHAPALONG – Raced three wide in the early stages. BEITSOO – When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer M. Palmer advised stewards that the filly may not have apricated by the synthetic track at its first race start and at its only other start thewas not suited by 1100m where it weakened over the concluding stages. Mr Palmer added that the filly was resuming from a spell today and appreciated the shorter distance of today’s event. GODDESS OF DREAMS – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight. GYRO RAISE – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 150m rider E. Lang dropped her near side rein placing her at a disadvantage for a short distance. INVANESS – Obliged to alter course approaching the 100m when GODDESS OF DREAMS shifted in under riding. REG 'N' KATH – Raced three wide throughout. Race 2: HARMAN CONCRETING Maiden Plate 1400 metres HALLSIDE WILDTHING – Taken inwards approaching the 1300m by PROJECT PAPER. PROJECT PAPERCLIP – Shifted inwards at the start and bumped HALLSIDE WILDTHING. Shifted in approaching the 1300m. PURINUAN BOY – Shifted in at the start. Tightened for room approaching the 1200m by ZESTY BOY which shifted in when racing greenly. Steadied for a short distance approaching the 1000m when racing in restricted room to the inside of ZESTY BOY. REITERATE – Approaching the 1300m had to be steadied from heels after being tightened by HALLSIDE WILDTHING which was taken inwards by PROJECT PAPERCLIP. Raced wide. Trainer L. Dillion advised stewards that the gelding had bled from the offside nostril and would now be retired. Stewards advised her that the gelding would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a steward if the horse were to return to racing.WEWON – Slow to begin. ZESTY BOY (NZ) – As rider B. Ainsworth was delayed arriving on course stewards permitted C. Small as the replacement rider for the gelding. Raced greenly for the majority of the event. BAGUIO (NZ) – Slow to begin. METZARRO – Rider E. Lang was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip 6 times prior to 100m. READY SET ROLL - Bumped at the start. Raced wide REDVEDEV (NZ) – Approaching the 1100m had to be momentarily steadied from the heels of PROJECT PAPERCLIP which shifted in. Race 3: BOOK YOUR WORK CHRISTMAS PARTY @ GATTON RACES 1ST DEC QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden 1100 metres FOREBEARS - Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages whilst being restrained. BAMBOLEO – Raced in restricted room and had to be eased at the 500m. HELLO ANGEL – Forced wider by another runner near the 900m. Shifted out to improve when awkwardly placed at heels near the 500m. JOHNNY CAN DANCE – Raced in restricted room in the early and middles stages and had to be eased. Race 4: GOODYEAR AUTOCARE GATTON BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres BOLD HUNTER – Shifted out at the start and tightened outside runners. MR BROSE – Shifted in at the start and tightened inside runners. MUWARRAD – Tightened at the start and lost ground. DREAM ENTITY - Tightened at the start and lost ground. AIN'T SHE LOVELY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. SUNIKI – Approaching the 150m had to be steadied from the heels of AIN’T SHE LOVELY which shifted out under pressure. Rider A. Graham was advised to stop and straighten her mounts when they commence to shift ground in future. Race 5: BOWES ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap1600 metres EAST ESPLANADE - Steadied from heels leaving the 600m. ROUND OF APPLAUSE – Laid out leaving the 1200m. Rider B. Ainsworth advised stewards that the gelding didn’t appreciate the turning track and came off the bridle at the 600m however when able to balance up in the home straight finished the race off well. LEXI'S CHOICE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels approaching the 1200m and had to be steadied. Raced keen at heels for a distance leaving the 1000m and had to be steadied on a number of occasions. Hung out rounding the home turn. SIDEWALK – Steadied from heels leaving the 800m. Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider R. Fradd reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 6 times prior to 100m. BUCKIN' LUCKY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Race 6: REDMONDS PET & LIVESTOCK SUPPLIES Class 2 Handicap1600 metres ANGEL GRACE – Slow to begin and was then bumped shortly afterwards. DELANEY'S GIRL – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping heavily with CASHOFFA. MOJO BABY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Apprentice E. Lang advised stewards that the mare was obliged to race wide without cover, and this had a detrimental effect on the horse’s performance adding MOJO BABY would be better suited when able to secure cover in its races. SECRET KING – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CASHOFFA – Bumped heavily at the start. EVRYNOW'N'THEN – Slow to begin. Race 7: LOCKYER VALLEY PAINTING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres HAIL TO THE CHIEF – Began awkwardly and shifted outwards shortly after the start. Over-raced in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance of the horse rider E. Lang advised the horse races best when able to secure a forward racing position. She added that in her opinion racing wide for a large section of today’s event also had a detrimental effect on the horses performance. CLASS OF ROYALTY – Forced wider at the 1200m and raced wide until approaching the 1000m. SLY CORNER (NZ) – Tightened shortly after the start and lost ground. Disappointed for a run approaching the 150m and was obliged to alter course. SPIRIT'S CHARM – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight. BIGGIE – Shifted in shortly after the start. BAMBALAM – Shifted out at the 1200m. Race 8: TEMPORARY FENCE & BARRIER HIRE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1400 metres TAKUNAI – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. RIP CITY – Steadied from heels approaching the 1200m. Forced wider at the 1100m. BLACK WHITTO – Shifted in momentarily approaching the 1200m before being corrected by its rider. Raced wide throughout. PERSIAN FRONT – Began awkwardly. Commenced to over-race approaching the 1100m and shifted out after becoming awkward at heels. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Attempted to shift out at the 500m to improve and became awkward at heels. Held up approaching the home turn. MEMORIAL DAY – Raced wide throughout. RUN THE CUTTER – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1300m was eased from heels. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. MRS SHMICKELBERG – Hampered shortly after the start.
